oh yeah, I have to tell you one more funny.

We are all packed, really lite just a one night trip and Wilson yells from his room are we going to Disneyland???? Paul starts cracking up, what's so funny about that???? I guess my kids think the only reason we go to LA is to see the mouse, nevermind our family lives there

oh yeah, and his aunt is in on the one day bday trip with the boy, maybe grandma should come too

Hurrah, the weekend is here.

Today turned out to be an extremely calm and quiet day. The project from hell is near complete! We had our final software delivery (otherwise known as the golden build) and everything passed!

The amazing thing is that in theory, we are now ready to go to production ... 1 week ahead of schedule!

It also means that people can take the vacation days next week that they had planned, and everyone can have a relaxing week instead of the usual stress.

When I got back to work after the wedding (it was around September 8th) my boss asked me to "get my arms around" the project.

At that point, the team thought it would be a miracle if we could deliver by the end of February which would be 2 months late.

So, for us to be ready a week ahead of schedule is remarkable. A testament to the team.

Am I a bully or what? I really did bully people on this one, most of the time having folks PO's and upset with me. But, it paid off.

On another note, I was feeling awful today. Not sure if I have something flu-like or whether these are side effects from the new meds my neurologist put me on.

My muscles ached today, and my joints hurt. I have not eaten anything since the packet of oatmeal I had at 5:30 AM.

I also had a headache today. I don't get headaches. I've only had one in my life which believe it or not was in about 1968, so I don't know what's up.

I called the neurologist's office. A nurse phoned me back and told me to stay on the meds. The neurologist phoned the time I left my desk. He then called the house, and told Sukie he would call me in the morning.

I probably won't be home in the morning, because we have to go to the green grocer, the supermarket, and pick up the heritage turkey I reserved at a farmers market.

I'll have to see how I feel tomorrow.

I was going to go out tonight and try to get some of the shopping done this evening, but have instead decided to stay in and rest.

Well done Ian, bully or not, you did the job!!! Sorry you are feeling ill. Perhaps it is the stress?

I posted a recipe It is green beans with stuff in it. We eat veggies everyday but their was a time when we didn't. We couldn't afford it all and it was more important to drink and eat snacks

But veg are cheap really.

What is egg and chips?

Fried egg and french fries, which we call chips. Traditional home made chips like I grew up with are much much better than the frozen thin things. Can have baked beans and/or ketchup. Egg yolk should be soft to dip the chip in!! Yum. also nice to have some fresh bread and butter so you can make a chip butty!!! Can't remember the last time I had a chip butty. As it is best to have a thickish layer of butter on the bread, the whole thing is not really very good for you!!

Woke up too stressed out to sleep. I forgot to mention last night that Tyler told me he's going to be a brother in Spring. His stepmom is having a baby. I know this sounds mean, but I can't help but wonder, how will they have time for a baby when his dad says he doesn't have time to do Tyler's daily 10 minute homework? And I know it's not my problem, but how can they handle a new baby with the stress of trying to get Tyler stabilized? And it's a shame Tyler will be so much older than the new baby. He'll be 7 or just a couple weeks from 7 when it's born, so they won't be playmates really. I suppose he might be a good helper though.

Well, we made it to Jacksonville last night. It is 31 degrees here. I am in FLORIDA!! What's up with that.

Daniel flew down but had to drive though Roanoke VA and they had 5 inches of Snow.

Soon we will be on our way!! We were just talking about the Sailaway Party!!

Now that you mention it, as a child, Santa scared the crap out of me too. My parents would drag me off to Macy's in NY to sit on Santa's lap and I'd get hysterical. The Easter Bunny also scared the crap out of me.

Oh, and one more thing scared me, nuns. They sat on subway stair landings with little baskets for alms at their feet. Those nuns were damn spooky.

What is a bit odd in all of this is why the hell my parents carted me off to inflict Santa on me every year, considering that we didn't celebrate it.
