Speaking of wine and bourbon, something funny happened earlier.

As many of you know, Sukie does not drink.

The bourbon and wine in the recipes don't matter because the alcohol is cooked off, but I when I buy them I do hide the bottles, so he is not around them.

Earlier today, I had forgotten where I hid them in the house. He was out at the doctor. I had to tear the house apart trying to figure out where I hid them this year.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well, at least you were home today so you had a chance to go searching! ;) I do things like that all the time. Drives me nuts!

Ok... creepy day...

You see back in High School I had a guy who used to well, almost STALK me... We all hung out in a group together and he took it a bit too far...

It's been something that all of my friends have sort of kept an eye on for me...

Well... then there's facebook and classmates...

seems he's been checking my profile on both (it appears on classmates each time he visits and some of my friends have told me he's asked about me... ) alot... I did not accept him as a friend when the request came through - I think it was a good idea...

I called one of my friends to let him know... we'll see if anything else happens... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I thought these headaches :headache: went away long ago...

I think that is übercreepy. He obviously knows how to carry a torch.

Marilyn's really afraid that if I do get my hands on her address that I'm going to come and crash on her couch... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
That's what I thought too! She's probably afraid I'd drop Tyler off for a visit while I go sightsee for a couple days. :lmao:

Must smell wonderful at Eastwood Manor... :goodvibes :goodvibes
I agree! I'm regretting telling my dad I'd be over at 4pm for dinner. Instead, I should have just picked my mom up on the way to Chicago and invaded Ian & Sukie! My mom would help, I promise. Well, she'd probably just help finish a bottle of wine. :rotfl2:

Sukie and I got into a fight with someone in the parking lot of the supermarket.

She accused me of trying to run her over.

She was walking through the lot and was really zig-zagging. It was impossible to figure out where she was going.

Then she zigged too close to our car.

She accused us of a deliberate attempt to run her over, and was standing there yelling at us.

Sukie had to stay by the car and guard it. We thought she might try to put in in her shopping bag and steal it.

The supermarket was CRAZY. I can't believe how crowded it was.

I am now DONE for today. The pumpkin bread pudding is in the oven and that is the last of it for today.

Tomorrow, I only have to do the finishing parts of the stuffing, stuff and dress the turkey, do the brussel sprouts in cream and basil, and make the caramel sauce for the bread pudding.

Sukie was a big help today. He did a lot of the peeling, prepping and washing up.

We also came to the end of "Upstairs Downstairs" yesterday. Today I kept saying things to to him like, "Ruby! You lazy girl! Haven't finished peeling those potatoes yet?"

The bourbon sweet potatoes are in the oven.

Imagine it, 2 cups of packed, light brown sugar, a stick of butter and a cup and a quarter of bourbon.
Holy crap, that sounds awesome, and I don't usually even like sweet potatoes! My mouth is watering.

Oh, I love them Monica! I bought a Lladro for myself too when I was in Spain, but have long forgotten all about it until seeing these pics. I hope my mom has it somewhere safe. I'm sure she does. :goodvibes

Bourbon, butter and brown sugar is an awfully good combination.

The sweet potatoes are there only to hold up the syrup.

Ian I can smell your house from here....it smells delicious. That's probably the part I miss the most....the smells of cooking in the kitchen....walking into mom's house for this holiday and my mouth just watered. Good memories.

If John and I get to come to your house for turkey day next year, do you want us to bring our mulling spices with wine? Talk about the house smelling nice.....John does this every year for turkey day or christmas or both. We didn't get any yet this year....but we will. It's a warm spiced wine with almond slices and fruits. He usually cooks it in our crock pot. It's so good.

I know it doesn't surprise you that I love mulled wine

I have to or I would never get anything done in the mornings!!! Nobody reads multi quoted posts though.
Not true Marilyn, I read ALL posts! :thumbsup2 I just can't get enough of this great group! :grouphug:

My recipe for bourbon sweet potatoes is to put the sweet potatoes in a dish, cover with 2 cups of light brown sugar, cut up a stick of butter then slide in the oven. Then, while they are cooking, drink a cup and a quarter of bourbon. After they cook, they taste great. Well, most everything tastes great after that. ;)
:rotfl2: Tammy, if I had to cook, that's probably how I would do it! :rotfl:

Hi Gaylean! A day and a half late, but I don't think I did more than a post yesterday. Shocking, I know! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Need some help with that Gaylean? ;)

BOTH! :rotfl2: It's definitely possible.....and you're nuts if you think you can stay UNDER the number of posts needed to reach 10K by then! :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yup! ;) I know I would.

I feel like you were having a conversation with me but I wasn't there :lmao: Do you guys feel like that when I post like this?

Holly/Michelle - I like the idea of Christmas cards. I'll pm our address. Then I'll actually have to go buy some Christmas cards :)
:thumbsup2 I have to get some made because I want to use our picture with Mickey & Minnie. I'll probably do that this weekend. :goodvibes Oh.....since Michelle volunteered to be a list keeper, I guess I should PM her MY address, since I brought it up! :rotfl2:

Am I the only person here flapping their gums? Where is everyone?

Someone aside from me had better post something r e a l soon or there is going to be trouble.
:rotfl2: I wish I'd been here! I was so freaking busy at work yesterday and today, it was unbelievable, but nice because time FLEW BY. :thumbsup2 And the Energizer Bunny lawyer is going to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so I can't even imagine what the piles will look like when we (his 3 secretaries, yes he needs THREE to keep up with him) come in on Monday! :rotfl: Job security! Gotta love it!

Gaylean - did Brooke notice there were no pictures of her? Some of our relatives don't do a good job of putting pictures up either. When we first had kids I used to go to Sears and get the pictures done and order them for everybody, but now I'm not. If they don't put them up, I'm not bothering to

I hope she didn't notice but I was rather loud because I was shocked. I give her pictures every year but I don't expect them to go up because she doesn't really have space on the walls. I've actually seen the picture of Ethan in the past but the pictures of us (when were like 21) and the pictures of his brother and sister-in-law and the one of their baby are new. I have a lot of pictures on my fridge and when I have a party, I always make sure that no one is left out. If I don't forget my friends, she shouldn't forget her grand daughter. I don't think it would make me so mad if she hadn't left her out of other things as well. I always figured she didn't like girls until the other grand daughter was born.

No I'm still here. I had to pull the gratin out of the oven. I also decided to amuse myself by taking photos.

So, in an act of desperation, here is one of the dogs:

Aw, how cute! They look so excited! I just love it when dogs do that little tilted head look! :goodvibes
