Ian... do you have a crock pot or did that go the to the wayside along with the GB casserole???

We do have a crock pot that we use for soup.

Are you and Barb having green bean casserole tomorrow? Do I have enough time to send you a green bean casserole gift basket?

Oh Ian we all have one of those in our family... Turkey stealers...

& be careful... You may find the pooches downstairs munching on one of the heritage legs... and a smear of turkey grease going down the stairway...

Since she got a taste of the sauteed turkey necks, Tallulah has been impossible all day. She won't leave the kitchen and insists on being under foot.

I have ordered her out. She is now parked in the doorway, hiding a bit behind the door jam staring at me from around the corner. (I'm not kidding either.)

Am I the only person here flapping their gums? Where is everyone?

Someone aside from me had better post something r e a l soon or there is going to be trouble.

Sorry, I had a busy day and night (was doing wrapping up Xmas presents for friends and family) want to done it before too busy in December.

No I'm still here. I had to pull the gratin out of the oven. I also decided to amuse myself by taking photos.

So, in an act of desperation, here is one of the dogs:

Look like you said SMILE and dogs looked at you and SMILE AND POSER!! Lovely dogs.

I'm cleaning, baking the pies and listening to Madonna (I'm not sure why). I might not be able to make the blackberry because I'm not sure I have time to go back to the store. I guess we can survive with peach and pumpkin. The turkey is 25 pounds so I have to get up at 5:00 am to put it in  That's alright because I'll be up at 3:00 am on Friday to go shopping. That is fun though so it will be easy......with a little coffee that is.

I went to the store and ordered my rib roast for Friday night and I can't wait to spend the day with just the four of us

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Bubba this is for you too. I refuse to pay 20 cents to text you back :lmao:

What 25 pounds of turkey and rib roast mmmm sound yummie

Oh my brother loved Madonna and his favourite song like a Virgin!! and I like her song Don't cry for me Argentina!!!

Marilyn

Do we have bourbon here in UK? What is that? as I thought it was mulled wines but what is it? Sound I am asking stupid question......

Anyway

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING IN USA!! We don't saying that in Scotland.

Hope you get something.

John just got home with the wine and the mulling spices. Now I'm happy! It's a good thing that we have a winery right down the block.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!

But just think where you would be if you had taken the other job... It's what's best for you and Tyler right now...:grouphug:
Yup, you're absolutely right! And some good news: I DID get my holiday pay for Thursday and Friday on today's paycheck after all! :dance3: I often forget that our office manager just likes to stir the pot a bit and may have just wanted to make me sweat. I don't know. I'm just glad I got the pay. :thumbsup2

I've been SUPER busy and am now ready to sit down and catch up. :goodvibes I think I'm on page 60 or maybe even the high 50s. ;)

Well, count the days till NYE and work out how many posts you will have to do per day. Then you can amend as you go on!!!
Do you need algebra?;)
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Need some help with that Gaylean? ;)

Well yes I do. I was just wondering if it is possible or if I'm nuts ;)
BOTH! :rotfl2: It's definitely possible.....and you're nuts if you think you can stay UNDER the number of posts needed to reach 10K by then! :lmao:

I would love to send some. I already have a couple of addresses and the cards written to send when I am over, but I won't ask for any in return because of the cost of mailing over here.

You can do a greeting on here for me!!!:)
Oh Marilyn, I'm sure most of us don't care about the cost to send you a card. Will PM you. :thumbsup2

You are so very sweet. That would be so nice.

We typically don't exchange cards with anyone.

Holly - when is your mom taking you to Chicago?
Unfortunately, we don't have that trip planned yet. Since she retired last month, she's been too busy traveling with friends everywhere she gets invited! It's very hard to catch her at home, but she did ask me if I want to spend the night at her house after doing the dreaded Thanksgiving day dinner at my dad's, so I'll ask her then. :thumbsup2 I suspect she wants to share a bottle of wine with me that night, and I'll try to bring her some leftovers because she doesn't have anybody to do dinner with, so I feel pretty bad. I'm thinking of taking her out to lunch the next day and telling her we can call that our Thanksgiving meal. :goodvibes

Shannon,

Did you get all new appliances? What kind of stove?

When we redid the kitchen, we put the old fridge in the basement. It was perfectly good. I couldn't see getting rid of it. I'm very glad we held on to it. We actually use both refrigerators.

That in itself is a bit scary consider there are only two of us.

Yup all new appliances. Its a basic electric stove, but with the flat ceramic top, which I think will stay clean much better. The new fridge is just a basic, freezer on top on, but I love it. Its got clear crispers so you can see everything! (Ken won't forget what we have ;) ) and the its got wide shelves on the door which seem to hold a lot of stuff. Its actually a little smaller than our old freezer on one side, fridge on the other style; but it seems to have more usable fridge space and less freezer space.

We moved the old fridge into the basement. That was one of the biggest challenges of the whole renovation. The 2 of us moving it with a dolly. We got it do the first set of stairs to the front landing and there's no room to turn, no room to pull the dolly out. So we had a scootch it sideways to get the dolly off, which is not easy. If you haven't tried to shift a dolly sideways with a fridge on it, with only 1" clearance around you, be thankful. Then Ken gets to lift the dolly over the fridge to put it on the other side of the fridge to go down the next set of stairs (no room to turn it) then reach the bottom of the stairs and do the whole scootching sideways routine to get the dolly off and onto the other side to get it into the spare room and pull it up on the landing where it now proudly sits. And happily we managed that with only minor wounds and without wanting to slap each other. (Or maybe Ken wanted to slap me but just hid it well :lmao: )

Ok... creepy day...

You see back in High School I had a guy who used to well, almost STALK me... We all hung out in a group together and he took it a bit too far...

It's been something that all of my friends have sort of kept an eye on for me...

Well... then there's facebook and classmates...

seems he's been checking my profile on both (it appears on classmates each time he visits and some of my friends have told me he's asked about me... ) alot... I did not accept him as a friend when the request came through - I think it was a good idea...

I called one of my friends to let him know... we'll see if anything else happens... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I thought these headaches :headache: went away long ago...

Very weird - but on a positive note, you have nice friends that are looking out for you ::yes::

Deb

First photo - Sam

and Jake

My brother said it is hard work - no wonder!! lol

I have not see puppies yet maybe he is afraid that I steal one lol

Scottishwee35
Deborah, you can steal both and send one to me! ;) They're so cute!

Look like you said SMILE and dogs looked at you and SMILE AND POSER!! Lovely dogs.

You got that right. Truman is a poser. He's always posing. He was supposed to be a show dog, but the breeder decided not to keep him as a puppy.

I think the fact that at one time in his life he was destined for the show ring went to his head.

He's also about as dumb as a brick.

I can't remember how we got the old fridge in the basement. I don't remember if we did it or had some of the contractor's guys take it down there.

If we did it, it was probably a horrible experience and I've blanked it out of my mind.

I wish I did, but I have to take all kinds of cold weather gear now!!!:scared1: If the forecast changes then I will throw them out and there will be room!!!:lmao:
Definitely true about the cold weather gear, isn't that amazing?! One of Tyler's Grandpas, his dad's dad (who is a really great guy that I just love visiting), lives in Boca Raton, FL. He comes to Michigan about once every other month. He was just here for a couple weeks and flew home on Saturday and he was joking about it being warmer HERE in Michigan than what he's going home to! It's crazy!
