Deb and Monica, don't feel too disappointed about cancelling excursions. I might be doing the same because of buying my couch. I've needed one for years and just couldn't take it any longer. The old one would slip out from under you as you sit because the cushions were so warped and it dipped in the middle, so you and the other person on it were forced to lean into each other.

And it was ripped all over. I got it when Tyler was 3, so it's had almost 7 years of a bouncing tornado all over it.

And it's a loveseat (cheaper than a full size couch, and it was all I could afford back then), so neither of us could ever lay down on it. Anyway, I've been trying to afford a new one for a long time and just had to bite the bullet, deciding it's worth it if I have to sacrifice a few excursions. I don't regret that decision at all.
BUT......just yesterday I discovered something is really wrong with my car (trying to arrange to have it looked at this week), and I have no idea how much that repair will cost, so there go more excursions I may need to cancel.
HOWEVER, last night at Bible study when sharing all this, one friend said "Well, you can get off the ship, right? It doesn't cost any money to walk around and see HAWAIIAN flowers and amazing scenery, which is more than any of us back at home will be doing!" WONDERFUL perspective and now I'm fine with whatever happens (looks like I can keep a couple excursions, but I have to sit down and budget this weekend and make my final decision).
