HI EVERYBODY!

Di is back in Chicago and I have the house to myself again. It's hard being the hostess....especially when it is a 'celebratory' visit and someone needs to be made to feel special...daily...

Took a while to get caught up here. Hope everyone is feeling better! Had so many pages didn't try to multi-quote, but I'm thinking about all of you.



SEVENTEEN more work days for me...but who's counting Di asked me what I thought my 'retirement gift' would be. Told her NONE, but then realized they are giving me a BIG one....one year's salary...DUH!

Was supposed to have a tooth pulled today (took a 1/2 day vacation for it) but because the tooth broke last week it is going to be a more complicated extraction and we need to reschedule for a longer appointment (wisdom tooth behind a bridge, so some delicacy is required). Have to call tomorrow to reschedule (needed to do it from work to make sure I don't schedule it whille my team-mate is out). I still took the rest of the day off though!!! It only crossed my mind for a moment to go back to work, but then thought "Nah"...it was official vacation time after all...shouldn't matter what activities I was, or was not, doing with it!

I'm now afraid to go over the the Hawaii thread since I haven't been there in almost two weeks...think I'll just jump in at the end and not try to get caught up.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my notice today from SSA. They didn't deny my claim. I will continue to get my benefits without having to go to court. I can't believe it. Since they made me see their doctor when I first opened this claim and then they denied me anyway, I really thought they were going to do the same thing again. I'm so happy I don't have to go to court again. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got a call from DCL. Corinna and Linda got the same call yesterday and Corinna told me all about it. They asked about the Champagne Girls and they told me that I was a disboards member. They told me that no money can change hands onboard. So now I have to contact everyone and ask for payment before we leave. But I can't even start to do that until I get my laptop back. I have all my files in there. I don't have any files in the netbook. So I have to wait until Staples gets done with the laptop beore I can get started.

I just called staples and the Ram doesn't get to them until Monday. Then it only takes an hour to install and I can pick it up. So I have to wait until then to get started collecting money for the champagne girls. Ugh. It's a good thing I'm mostly packed already. This could take up a lot of my time.

I will accept payment by paypal and checks...I have a paypal account. But I'm stuck not doing anything until next week when I get the laptop back.

Deb, you have actually talked with them about this, have you not? Did you not discuss what champagnes, etc? Not that you can argue with them about collecting the $$ onboard, but about no request for venue is nuts. Do you have the name of the person you were working with?

The good thing about this is that it should cut down on those that sign up and then not show or those that don't sign up and then do show. You should be able to get everyone to send the $$ in 4 weeks. It's not like you have to have an early deadline due to ordering product like Val did. Just if you don't have payment by the time you leave then they can't be part of the group. I'll send a check for myself and Nang. I had a big problem with paypal last time I used it. I mistyped Monica's email, it took the money out of my account and held it for 10 business days (even though paypal knew it was not a correct address and that the $$ was not going to be collected) and then when it was returned it was 3 business days before it was put back in my checking that our paypal draws from. Boy, one wrong keystroke....and it was for the luau for 4 people so it was a bit of money that I had to cover twice inorder to get it sent to Monica on time. Turned into over 2 weeks. Luckily we had the cash to cover it, but geesh!!

I am up for the check system also. Paypal freaks me out.

and I think DCL - can MTOB about what you do with other people on the ship. They are not in control of other people giving and receiving money - geeshhhh the nerve.
