another crappy night of sleep for me last night - 3rd one in 6 days. Finally fell asleep about 530am. I will talk to the dr about this at my appt on Monday, but I think part of the anxiety is the anniversary that's coming up this weekend. Every year, when the media keeps showing the footage of 9/11 I have a hard time.

talked to my sister this morning....she's dealing w/ all the rain now from Lee. Said her basement is starting to leak. I saw pictures last night that the news showed from Ellicott City, MD....footage they showed was right down the street from where my sister got married.

Me too.....my fibro and other illnesses started right after 911. I think they are connected. I walked in those buildings more times than I can count and I knew so many people who had a story about someone in those buildings. My friend Bryan was working downtown NYC that day and had to run out of the city by crossing a lower manhattan bridge. It still hurts to think about the loss. But I don't want to stop doing the things I do because then they won. So me and John took our first DCL cruise on Sept 29th that year and the boat was empty. I will never forget.

My cousins in Binghamton NY....just over the northern PA border.....had to evacuate. They have the one year old baby and they slept at the fire house in a cot last night. They lost everything in their basement and they are just praying that the water doesn't go up to the first floor of the house. But Katia is keeping Lee hovering over the area and not moving on. So we're not done yet. I'm so afraid for so many people.

He came in at midnight. I was out in the rain and the dark and the fog and the floods to go get him. A 30 minute drive took me over an hour because I was going so slowly. I couldn't see anything. It was aweful, but everybody made it home safe and sound. I was a wreck driving. I have to admit and I was glad when we were home safely.

Glad all back and safe

still up & awake at 2am....ugh. I should get off the computer.

So sorry you had another sleepless night Monica. You really need to stop doing this. Call your doctor and talk to him about it. You need some help.

Hi Deb - up til 4am this time. I'm in to see the Dr on Monday, so will talk to him then.

How is your day going?

So...other than those lucky ones that are boarding the Magic tomorrow - what else is on tap for people this weekend?

I know FL V's scheduled to bring the newest Carlin into the world today :goodvibes

I'm planning to attack (yes, attack...can't tackle anymore) the lawn work tomorrow. Will & Mickey are bringing my lawn mower back (they borrowed it last week) so I need to do that. I need to kill weeds, plus cut the branches off the small tree in my backyard that have decided they want to live in the neighbor's backyard.

The lawn & :laundy: are the only things I have planned right now. Wow - this may be the 1st weekend I stay at home, since I started working from home!

Good! I'm glad you're going to the doctor soon. You can't take many more sleepless nights.

It's a typical Friday around here.....except that I have two grown boys in my house now. We realized that the last time they lived here together they were 9 and 10 years old. The first thing Kris did when he got here was walk into his old room. Except that it's not his old room anymore and he looked lost. I laughed. How funny that he reverted right back to his childhood.

Me, I'm going to spend most of my weekend crying....like I'm doing a lot of today. The TV is filled with 911 information and memorials. I can't turn it off. So I watch and I cry coz it still hurts even ten years later.

I'll feel better on Monday, but this weekend I will mourn for the enourmous amount of lives lost and the tragedy of it all.

I need to do things where I don't see/hear about this. I honestly think that this is A reason I'm having trouble sleeping. If I could remember this time last year (and the year before, etc) I'm sure I would see a pattern.

It's not that I don't care & don't grieve, but I think it's too much coverage the week of the anniversary. Michelle said that a lot of us have signs of PTSD & I agree with her. I remember those lost (including people in my company) through out the year, not just as the anniversary nears (not saying this about you, Deb).:hug:

I completely understand and wish I could stay away from it too, but I can't. There has not been one day that has gone by in ten years that I didn't think about it and the people lost. It's overwhelming on our nervous systems and I agree with Michelle too. I am sure that many of us have it without getting diagnosed properly.....only because the tragedy is so incomprehensible for us. It frays our nerves and we all get sick. I'm sure that's why you can't sleep as well. No matter how brave we are, we are still susceptible to dis-ease within our bodies. I wish we could control it, but we can't unthink what we already know.

Hugs to all of us during this time. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Well, Ann's going to the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday for a recording of Songs of Praise, a BBC TV programme. It's supposed to be for Christmas transmission, so she has to dress appropriately. I will be dog sitting, providing food etc.

Last Sunday we were both up in London for a UK DIS meet. We were able to meet up with Pete, Walter, John and Kevin from the DIS podcast before they went on to Disney Paris with Adventures by Disney.

We really do live an exciting life over here.

That's what the QM tells me every night before she goes to bed... :surfweb:

You see, this thread is so stimulating and exciting that you need a quiet time to deactivate the brain. Listen to your Mother Michelle. Mother always knows best.

If you are reading this after 11:00 p.m. your time, log out now :surfweb:

Three weeks tonight we will be having dinner with Deb and John at Ohana's :cheer2::cheer2:

What time is dinner? How late do you think you'll be there? I may be able to meet up after I get off work.
