We had a high of 47 degrees yesterday. I actually like winter but I don't like it in May. This is the rainiest, coldest, dreariest spring we have ever had. When we finally get a dry day I have to cut the lawn through puddles. The ground is saturated.

Kinda quiet today... cold and rainy... have some work I have to get done that I have been putting off for too long...

I have donned my sweatshirt and my magic pink slippers... (my feet are cold...)

Crazy day here...

Ended up having a panic attack this afternoon, so I went to lay down, take some meds and sleep it off... Almost as soon as I got into bed, Emma texted me that My Fair Lady was on Turner Classics... so we sat there semi-together (she's still in Maryland at school...) watching and texting Audrey Hepburn quotes back and forth!!! I don't know why.. but when I'm always feeling down, one of the kids shows up to help me through it...

I did sleep for a while.. got up around 8 or so.. and checked my FB page and found a message from a good friend of mine telling me that another of our good friends had passed away yesterday. Steve was only a year or so older than me... it was lung cancer. He found out in March... and decided against taking any action and just letting it go. It must have been pretty bad by then - he was a smoker. He never let any of us know. He was cheerful to the end. He spent last weekend down the shore at Long Beach Island which was his favorite place and even had a lobster bake on the beach.

so... I have another crazy angel up in heaven.. and his name is Steve...

A bit better... I was working on the project for Metro (the cold calls) and I hate doing that and I think that threw me off quite a bit. The Demarest's have been so good to me over the years and I was sooo scared I had blown it this time taking so long to do it. But I guess not...

It helped that Emma and I shared "My Fair Lady" yesterday... a little bit of Audrey Hepburn love... (now if only Breakfast at Tiffany's was on... )

& then hearing about Steve.. nobody knew The Drs. told him he had until November... But he wasn't the type who wanted anyone's pitty - his sister said he loved being on FB though because he could "talk" to all of his friends even when he couldn't actually talk anymore...

Mom is off doing her singing... She's finally decided to join the Sr. Center officially... she didn't want to go and hang out with the old biddies... we had to break it to her... she was one!!!

Well... if Holly took the whitehorse RR trip she would have gotten her wish cause there's still SNOW up there in them thar hills!!!!


Thanks everyone for the kind words... Steve's death has been quite a shock because he didn't even tell his family he was sick. Apparently it was too far along and he decided that he wanted to enjoy what time he had left. He DID make opening day at Yankee Stadium and he did make it down to the shore last weekend - his favorite place, so maybe he knew the end was near... It's left alot of his friends bewildered.

Anyway. we're thinking of gardening here... gotta clean things up out there and I've decided to give mom some flowers for her garden for mothers and her Bday (the 13th...)
