Well... I just got some sad news about a friend of mine... Actually I had a crush on Bob when we were in 4th grade... but I'm also friends with his wife and she's wonderful!!! Anyway... I just found out that he needs to have his 2nd kidney transplant. The last transplant he got a kidney from an old man, so they told him long ago that he would need another. He got the test results last night. We are all in shock. Bobby is my age. I'm waiting to hear because I think he has a rare blood type. Not that I could be a donor with my medical history... but I just wish there was something I could do...

I cant post this on FB for obvious reason... so Prayers and Pixie Dust are appreciated... Thanks!!

That is a shame. Lets hope one comes through quickly. It feels horrible saying that doesn't it knowing someone has to die(normally).

So... my body takes stress in different ways... none of them good... but I figured out yesterday that I am suffering from BSS... I've been clenching my cheeks like I am smiling (but I'm not) and boy does it hurt after a while...

No, that's not snooping, I figured some people would be curious. I sure would be! Sister's name is Victoria. She'll be 2 in June, I can't believe it! She's very cute and Tyler's a great brother. He just loves her to death! He does look exactly like his dad. Especially certain facial expressions, which drives me nuts, LOL!

OMG I can't believe that Victoria is turning two soon. WOW!!! I remember you telling us that Sheilah is preggers. But I'm thrilled that Tyler loves his baby sis. That is just too sweet.

Donna, Harry is a true hero. I will follow his lead and not complain about being sick. Hugs to both of you.

Shell, so sorry to hear about your friend. It's really really scary when friends your own age are sick or dead. You feel like you are way too young for that to start happening. Out of my two bestest friends from Junior high and high school.....Cindy was widowed twice before we turned 40 and Bryan is dead at 52. It seems way too young and unfair.

Monica, have a blast while you're across the pond and visiting with good friends. Can't wait for the pictures.

I was online last night looking up all the regs on getting him on SS disability now that he will be on dialysis... it's almost automatic with that. I guess I might be writing one of my famous letters soon if they don't agree...

Don't take no for an answer. They seem to deny automatically hoping that people will get discouraged and not pursue it anymore. It's a lot of work, especially when you don't feel good. Don't give up the good fight. They will say yes when they see you are serious.

He's already been denied.. I guess end stage renal failure isn't a disability...

but it's in the "blue book" of SS - if you have one of those things... then you are automatically in. the Dialysis puts him there.

HA....I qualified on about six different things according to their "rules" and they still denied me. Then I got a lawyer and went before a judge and the doctor for the state said that I qualified six different ways. The judge looked at my lawyer and asked, "Do you have anything to add?" My lawyer said, "Yes, on one point......" Then the judge said, "Shut up, you won!" My lawyer shut up and we left. I won.

I think they just want to "see" you in front of the judge to make sure that you're not kidding.

Went in with every piece of paper I could on my condition...

When asked, I told him that I didn't see a reason to hire an attorney and give him 1/3 of any benefits I got. I was already in financial straits....

I'm pretty sure I got approved is because he just wanted me out of there!!!

Well, the snow's starting to melt... so that's a good thing...

Waiting to see if the River is going to break in the next day or so... what an event!!! Jack's opens on the 31'st and it always seems it gets baptized with flooding before!!!!

otherwise... pretty quiet. Waiting to see how I adjust to losing the hour tonight.. have to set my alarm for brunch tomorrow and I'm hoping all the students from Union College oversleep so I can have my eggs benny and not worry that they will get there before the hollandaise is all gone..

We were very lucky. We only got rain. Lots of it for days and days but it's better than snow any day!!

I remember seeing the picture you posted last year of the river by Jack's overflowing with huge chunks of ice. It looked awesome.

Spring is in the air.....Jack's is opening at the end of the month and the clocks change tonight. That makes me happy.....knowing that winter is on it's way out. This was a tough one for us. I'm glad it's over.

So what am I doing......going to Alaska.....just to add some more weeks of winter. hahaha.
