Marilyn, I have been reading about you getting another horrible snow storm :sad2: Hope you are still able to get around where you are. It's going to be a crazy winter I think, for us too!

The whole country is in a big mess Kathe. Locally we have only had a light covering of snow since the deep stuff went, but the temperatures for us all over here are terrible, so very icy roads etc. London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports keeps closing and there are thousands of passengers going nowhere for Christmas. People who couldn't fly to Europe then tried to go by Eurostar(train) to Paris, but the queue to try and get tickets was 5 hours long, outside in the freezing weather, snaking right round buildings! In fact they said ambulances had been called to some who got too cold.

Hugs to everyone as you try to cope and help with your loved ones :grouphug: It's hard to see our parents aging and starting to have health issues. I went to visit my in-laws last week, my MIL is having a very hard time with her memory. She has aged so much in the last year. She also has a blood disorder and has been having transfusions for the last couple of years.

It is so sad isn't it, and upsetting to see. Sorry about your MIL. I was just about to say that there is no way out of ageing and it's problems, but actually the alternative isn't too good either is it?

Tyler's Wii arrived today, with Wii Sports and Wii Resort, and I added Carnival Games and Epic Mickey for an awesome package deal on amazon.com. :cool1: It's black, which I never knew existed until I saw this one. Can't wait to play! :) I just hope it's easy to hook up.

You will both love it!! Bowling and golf are just TOO much fun! I got the Epic Mickey for Dennis (sshhh! Don't tell him!). I got a deal on that also. It was a package with a controller and a nunchuk for a total of $35! :thumbsup2 Woot!! The game alone is $49 everywhere. I got him a red controller. :cool2: I do still need to get the paintbrush controller, although I think you can use just the regular. The paintbrush will be very cool though.

I got Will Epic Mickey and he loves it!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm really looking forward to it all! :) I didn't know about the paintbrush controller. Hopefully the regular one will work for now. I haven't seen a red controller, cool! :goodvibes

It does... :thumbsup2

Merry Christmas to you too Jan! So nice to hear you are having fun with Sophie :goodvibes

Angie and Deborah and Ken, nice to have you popping in too :goodvibes

That is quite an accomplishment Deb! Good for you :thumbsup2

I'm glad you both enjoyed your evening together :goodvibes

Redundant :confused3 Well not for me....I know, I am one of the very few that still isn't on facebook :sad2: I understand why it is popular...but it just isn't for me. I don't have a huge amount of time to spend on line...so I choose here :goodvibes

Kathe... hopefully it will NEVER be just you and I here...but I'm here for the long run if you are!!! (and everyone else of course... we love gossip from everyone...)

HI everybody!

just a quick post before I head off to bed. As you can tell, Ken's got a new version of his photoshop software and is feeling inspired again.

Hope the thread stays alive, I miss too much on facebook since I'm not on it often enough

Congrats on reaching the 3year mark Deb!:cool1::banana::thumbsup2:cool1:

Sweet Mickey Dreams everybody!

Bears on ice??? did they win the game????

Well... tonight mom and I are going to the Blue Christmas service tonight. (aka the Darkest night service...)

It's a multidenominational service for those who are feeling down or have suffered a loss and don't feel the usual happy holiday feelings. It's for those who want to celebrate the spiritual side of Christmas but aren't into the Ho Ho HO part... it's usually held on the darkest night of the year (the winter solstice) and offers readings and hymns to offer hope to those in need.

I went three years ago when I was suffering a very difficult time.

It is very inspirational and it made a difference knowing that there were others like me who felt this way...

this is a link that kind of explains it...

Yes the Prince George Cougars won the game. What was really interesting is that I grew up in Kamloops, BC and cheered for the Kamloops Blazers as a kid. Kamloops happened to be the opposition for the game that night.

So I asked Shaelyn who we should cheer for and I explained that I grew up cheering for the Kamloops Blazers but we now live in Prince George so maybe we should cheer for the home team.

Shaelyn then decided that we would cheer for whichever team scored first.

Prince George scored first. So we cheered for them.

In addition, if Prince George scores 4 goals and wins the game, your ticket can be redeemed at one of the local A & W's for a Teen burger. So we then started cheering for 4 goals! Unfortunately, Prince George only won 3-2. Never did get that 4th goal...

This is a wonderful thing! There are lots of us Christmas depressed people, me among them. I have done a good job of "not sharing my depression" the last few years, but it is tough. :grouphug:

Michelle, I hope the service helps and beings more comfort.

I was very moving. And they had a nice turn out. It was done by several of the churches in the area all coming together - including the Catholic church this year which sort of surprised me. (they had a lighting of the Advent wreath)

At the end they invited everyone to come forward to light candles which they had on a table in the shape of a cross with blue tableclothes - I lit 2 - one for my Dad, my uncle Frank and my Uncle Donny and the second for my grandparents who although they passed along time ago... I feel like they are always with me.

It was quite beautiful to see the candles all lit in the end.

If is snows more than 6 inches between 6 pm and midnight Castiglione Jewelers will refund any $ you spent with them for Xmas... too bad I didn't buy jewelry...

So... what was with the bears????

Angie... I thought of you last night and our discussions we've had on faith... I'm always here for you and I have at least one good shoulder to lean on...

Same to you!!!

Michelle....why are you not going to be on here for Christmas? Did you get a new laptop yet? Or maybe get a notebook. I'll miss you. Hope you and mom have a very nice Christmas together.

We're celebrating on Christmas eve. We're picking up Ray at 1:30pm on Friday.....John and the kid both have off from work. Then we're all going out to eat. Afterwards, we're going to Mrs. Bush's with Ray to open his presents. He can't get up the stairs at my house anymore. This will just be easier. Then me, John and the kid will go home and open presents. We didn't buy any gifts for me and John to open except for calendars. I said our gift this year will be our cruises.....we have the Dream in 4 weeks.

I'm waiting to hear back from Uncle Teddy on Long Island. If he's going to be alone this year on Christmas and his birthday on the 26th, then me and John will go to Long Island for the weekend to spend Christmas Day and his birthday with him.

Next weekend I'm going to my cousin Donna's house to do Christmas with all the cousins on Long Island and their kids. Then January 11th John turns 60. So we have lots of celebrating to do in the next few weeks.

All leading up to the Dream cruise on January 26. We leave here on Sat 22 after midnight. I'm taking steroids so I can keep up with all my activities.

Sounds busy to me!
We're going to be home for Christmas with company coming the 31st for the weekend. Basketball game on the 3rd and then we head to Glendale, Az for the championship game. Then have to get serious about the Alaska cruise.

To everyone traveling - stay safe and have a good holiday!
