Oh dear. Has he been in trouble?

My brother and I "ran away" a couple of times....but we always asked Mom to pack us a lunch and casually mentioned we might be home for dinner! :)

Hope Tyler's plan is the same!

On the way home from school, he was practicing reciting the Lord's Prayer by memory for a class at church he has on Wednesday. He kept getting a couple parts mixed up, which is fine, and I was trying to tell him it's ok, but his anxiety level went through the roof, I couldn't get through to him, he was freaking out over it, which led to frustration, then anger at himself, etc. I told him we can't go to class until he calls down, which made him mad at me because he loves going to class, so then he was convinced he missed the whole class, which in turn enraged him and he started destroying things in the house, knocking things over, throwing things, etc., and had an evil look in his eyes, I actually went outside and sat in the car until he calmed down. When I came back in, he hated me, hated himself, wanted to kill himself, actually putting a plastic bag over his head, then told me he's running away forever because I don't even care if he does, etc. Uggghhhh......what a drama queen.

Anyway, he told me "Goodbye forever", made it from the side door around to the front door, came back in and calmed down. He picked up everything and we made it to class only 2 minutes late.
.
I'm certainly glad this isn't a common occurrence. I would have strangled him long ago. GLAD this day is over!

Holly, the pictures I have on facebook, I just right click/copy then past right on my DIS post. Facebook works like photobucket/flicr as a hosting site.

.

No right click for me, no internet at home, just using the phone for everything. Oh well. ;)

Holly, all kids have meltdowns from time to time.....some more exaggerated than others. And some, more often than others. Be thankful it's not often with Tyler. And you do the right thing. You've got to get him calm and under control as soon as it's possible for him to do so. Good job mom. It's ok, really. He doesn't mean anything that he says out of fits of rage. It's just an outlet for his anger. Kids are kids. One day he'll be calling you up and saying how sorry he was for the way he acted when he was younger. Everybody goes through it. Hugs to both of you. You did good.

Thanks Deb. I think I was just so shocked because I haven't seen anything this extreme since he was 3 or 4 maybe. How quickly I forget. I'm lucky though because I know some kids are like that every day.

I gather he was bad yesterday then. How long was he 'away'.

I had a friend when a child/teen who had a bag always packed for running away. I don't think she ever did, but I thought that was very funny at the time. I think I got to my teen years before i thought about it but by then i knew which side my bread was buttered so just gave my parents the cold shoulder instead:lmao:!!!(I think these days teens just give their parents the cold shoulder as the norm though.;):rotfl2:)

Morning all!

This week has been so CRAZY!!! I haven't had any time to check in here, and no time to chat w/ Michelle. Can this week be over with, Please???

I'm happy to report that I only gained 3lbs over Thanksgiving....with Ian's menu, I'm surprised it wasn't more! Plus I had pizza, pie, cake, popcorn :rotfl:

Weighed in this morning, and am back down 1.4, so headed back in the right direction.

For those of you who weren't there (and not on FB)...I ended up not doing the Turkey Trot...it was too damn cold! They had been forcasting freezing rain for that morning, so I made the decision the night before...& crawled back into bed after having breakfast w/ Cheri that morning  I live in Florida for a reason!! (well, more than 1...Disney & the weather :lmao:)

My dates for the UK trip have changed....now I'm arriving March 12th, leaving the 15th. Not long, but better than nothing :)

Hopefully dates won't change again.

Monica, we were so busy those few short days visiting, that I forgot to tell you how great you look after losing so much weight! :)

Yes, just for a short time, all triggered by not being able to do something perfectly. He only made it from the back door to the front door before coming in. And because I didn't react, he said he wanted to kill himself because he felt I didn't care, put a plastic bag over his head, which I also ignored. Since he didn't get a rise out of me, I suspect he won't bother with it again, hopefully.

That's funny about your friend keeping a bag packed, LOL! I never knew anybody who did that or even talked about running away.

Ohhh come on people... I'm doing this from a beg borrowed and 1/2 stolen computer at the library that I had to STARE down someone to get off of so I could get on...

And you people can't even show up to say hi since last night???????

I know... Michelle... go take your meds... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes, it's all Michelle's computer's fault. Christmas decorating & shopping are probably contributing too. ;)

Yup... blame me... every time...

Just wait until I can stalk you people full time again!!!
