Day 2 in Jersey...:scared1:

Woke up this morning and was dizzy... thankfully fell back onto the chest behind the couch instead of the stairs... not sure why... maybe I'm finally getting to be naturally ditzy... :rotfl:

Headed to Garden State Plaza to brave the mall scene... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: ohhh and get lunch.

will check in later...

Ohhh Marilyn... where are you??? :rolleyes1

I saw this and loved it... especially if you have had a cat...

How to give a pill to a cat...

Pick the cat up and cradle in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth pop pill into it, allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind the sofa. Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

Retrieve cat from bedroom and throw soggy pill away. Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call partner in from garden. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get partner to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from the foil wrap. Make note to buy a new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered 'Doulton' figurines from hearth and set to one side for gluing later. Wrap cat in large towel and get partner to lie on cat with head just visible from below armpit. Put pill in end of drinking straw, force cat's mouth open with pencil and blow down drinking straw.

Check label to make sure pills not harmful to humans, drink glass of water to take taste away. Apply band-aid to partner's forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap. Retrieve cat from neighbor's shed and get another pill. Place cat in cupboard and close door onto neck to leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon and flick pill down throat with rubber band.

Fetch screwdriver from garage and put door back on hinges. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for date of last tetanus shot. Throw t-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom. Call fire department to retrieve cat from tree across the road and apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid the cat. Take last pill from foil wrap. Tie cat's front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table, find heavy duty pruning gloves from shed and pry cat's mouth open with a small spanner. Push pill into mouth followed by a large piece of filet steak. Hold head vertically and pour a pint of water down throat to wash down pill.

Get partner to drive you to the Emergency Room and sit quietly while doctor stitches fingers and forearms and removes pill remnants from right eye. Call at furniture shop on way home to order new table.

Hello to all from snow covered London, On :cold: We have had 70 cm (28 inches??) of snow dumped on us since Sunday!!! Schools have been closed for 2 days and will be closed tomorrow again...a new record. We haven't had this much snow fall in such a short time since 1977.They are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow, then for another storm to hit us on Friday. I have taken the bus to work for two days now, since my appointment to have snow tires put on my car isn't until tomorrow  They pulled the busses off the road at 3:00 pm today...I was lucky that a co-worker offered me a ride home or I would have been stuck there! Taxi's are taking between 2 and 3 hrs to get to calls. I'm hoping that I can find my car under all that snow tomorrow and navigate my way across town to get those snow tires on!

I am thankful though for my wonderful neighbour, who purchased a snow blower over the weekend and has come over and helped dig me out, or I don't think I would have been going anywhere until next summer!

At the moment, I'm having a very hard time remembering why I wanted to go to Alaska in the spring ;)

Hope everyone is keeping well :grouphug:

Kathe...

close your eyes and picture palm trees...

At least you have the snow and I don't... ;) (that's because I'm in Jersey. I'm supposed to have snow at home but we'll see...)

Headed down the shore tomorrow to see my mom's sister Aunt Jane.

We just had a bday party for my sister... her 50th... too bad she's in TX...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: we called her and sang and then had cake. Her husband has surprised her with tickets to NYC this weekend (I will miss her by a day...) and they are seeing Jersey Boys and Donny and Marie on Broadway... I told her I hate her for seeing D&M before me..:lmao: :lmao: and if she met him... then she is to grab her cell phone and call me...:thumbsup2)

Ok everyone... lets    for Emma... she went for an interview for an internship and got it AT the interview!!!!!

& it's at the Baltimore Symphony!!!!!

I knew I raised her right... :thumbsup2

That is a lot of snow i a very short time Kathe. Take care. Our snow is still around. I guess we got to 1 foot or so all in, but it is going slowly now. Scotland has been very badly hit though. Poor Deborah is very fed up. Even a motorway has been closed with cars abandoned.

Oh how I hate spending my lunch hour talking to Tyler's dad. He works over an hour away and is on his way to pick Tyler up from school, has to be back at work to run a meeting at 2, so he has to take Tyler with him, not knowing what level of rage the kid is in (he refused to take his medicine at school), so I think he was hoping I would offer to go get Tyler. Nope, not starting that, otherwise I suspect he'd be asking me often. The deal is, whoever's house he's at, that's who has to pick him up on bad days. But I mainly think he just needed someone to talk to. :guilty: We both agreed about how worried we are for Tyler's future. The bigger & stronger he gets, I honestly am afraid he'll wind up in jail if we can't get the impulsiveness under control. I predict an increase in med doses at his 2 appointments next week. :( His dad said "all we can do is pray for him." :sad1: I haven't said much, but after a great first month in school, things went so downhill, very close to where we were over 2 years ago. Very rough couple of months. I think Santa needs to skip our house this year.

Oh dear Holly, sorry to hear your troubles there with Tyler. I suppose getting older he wants to push the boundaries more including with his meds. Glad you have an appointment next week and don't have to wait for that. You need that.

:banana::banana: Congrats to Emma, and to you as well Michelle :thumbsup2

Wow Kathe! I don't think I'be ever seen that much snow! :yay:

I was thinking how much you would love this Holly! Wish I could send it all your way ;) There is a hill across the street, and although I can't see it from here because of all the houses in front, I've been able to hear all of the happy squeals from both adults and children as they sled their way down . I can still remember when my children were little and their dad took them over to sled down, of course I stayed home and baked cookies and made hot chocolate

We had a much easier day today Marilyn. I got my snow tires on :thumbsup2 Almost got stuck trying to drive into the tire dealership's parking lot though. More snow expected to arrive Friday and again on the weekend :sad2:

I'm sorry Deborah is feeling fed up with the snow in Scotland too! I think it's going to be a bad winter for a lot of us.

Holly, sending hugs and prayers :grouphug: Never forget that you are doing a great job. I know it has not been easy, and I'm sorry that Tyler is continuing to experience problems, but he has had long periods when he has been happier too. Remember that  He will have better times ahead. Christmas is a stressful time for all of us it seems.

Kathe - WOW! that's crazy snowfall at once. We had rain today and our snow is melting.

Holly - sorry to hear about Tyler's troubles. Good luck at the doctors.

Michelle - congrats to Emma! enjoy your trip

Marilyn - hope you are enjoying your snow

Time for me to head to bed :cloud9:

That is just wonderful reply for Holly.

For the first day we did Shannon, but it has caused so many problems. We are breaking all sorts of records(not the highest December temperature unfortunately!!) but we aren't as bad as Scotland. Our road is thick ice as is the next. Once I have negotiated those, the roads to town are good, and town of course is clear. Warmer for a few days now so going to melt the ice, but it is well below freezing at night and all the water will freeze, causing dangerous roads and sidewalks.(Get me, saying sidewalks instead of pavements;):lmao:)

Hope the winter is being kinder to you. I know you are used to much worse than we have. We aren't prepared though, that is the big problem.:sad2:

Are you still enjoying your job? Also your new house?

Bad roads definitely put a cramp in enjoying the pretty snow. I'm definitely noticing road maintenance is worse in our new town compared to the old one, but nothing like the problems you are having.

And yes, I'm enjoying the house and the job and am very happy with our move. I just wish we had about 3 weeks with no work to get everything in the house properly organized.

WARNING!!!!
DRIVE BY POSTING....

Just installed the latest version of Photoshop Elements so I of course had to test it out.

Marilyn requested one and inspiration hit me. So here is a test run with my new PSE9 ... Threw this together quickly tonight just before going to bed.
