My brother and I "ran away" a couple of times....but we always asked Mom to pack us a lunch and casually mentioned we
might be home for dinner!
Hope Tyler's plan is the same!
On the way home from school, he was practicing reciting the Lord's Prayer by memory for a class at church he has on Wednesday. He kept getting a couple parts mixed up, which is fine, and I was trying to tell him it's ok, but his anxiety level went through the roof, I couldn't get through to him, he was freaking out over it, which led to frustration, then anger at himself, etc. I told him we can't go to class until he calls down, which made him mad at me because he loves going to class, so then he was convinced he missed the whole class, which in turn enraged him and he started destroying things in the house, knocking things over, throwing things, etc., and had an evil look in his eyes, I actually went outside and sat in the car until he calmed down. When I came back in, he hated me, hated himself, wanted to kill himself, actually putting a plastic bag over his head, then told me he's running away forever because I don't even care if he does, etc. Uggghhhh......what a drama queen.
Anyway, he told me "Goodbye forever", made it from the side door around to the front door, came back in and calmed down. He picked up everything and we made it to class only 2 minutes late.
