Change in Disney Cruise Line Deposit Requirements

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Effective for reservations booked starting today, Disney Cruise Line is charging 20% of the total voyage fare (not including taxes, insurance, transfers, etc.) as a deposit on the reservation. The deposit is no longer determined per person.

(this applies to bookings NOT made on board at the moment)

My first reaction was "OUCH". But there are certainly circumstances where this would be a lesser deposit. For example, the four of us on a two day would have only been $270 in deposits instead of $400.

I ran some numbers on other cruises I have booked (all for 2 people) and the difference was nominal.

The big questions is....will this mean they now WON'T require increased deposits for special itineraries? My Alaska cruise would have required a much lower deposit. It will be interesting to see the figures as other DISers run the numbers.

Lets see..............................

20% of I haven't booked yet is???? :rotfl2:

I spent a lovely evening last night at Epcot...

Ann & Albert called me about lunch time yesterday....found out they were meeting w/ Connie, Chuck & Patrick at Epcot, so off I went after I got out of work.

Was able to meet up w/ them during an Off Kilter show, and then as the show ended....guess who walked up??? Angie & Dennis!!! We all chit-chatted for a few moments before C/C/P had to go home. The 5 of us left over, then went into the Rose & Crown for a pint (after a group photo) and some catching up. We sat in the beer garden (when the piano & singing started inside), then it was off to France for a snack. A&A bowed out next (as they had to go finish packing...flying out of Miami tonight), but I was able to spend a little more time with A&D (and another couple from the EBTA). I left the park as Illuminations was starting.

It was so great to see everyone!! Esp D&A, as I haven't seen then since the PC cruise....they are also planning to stop in at Planet Hollywood tomorrow to see Deb & John, Maz & John, and Mandy & Mark (but should have headed off to Epcot by the time I show up tomorrow).

I love living here!!!! So glad that so many of my friends let me crash their vacations :goodvibes

Monica, you're actually the HIGHLIGHT of any Florida vacation! :thumbsup2

Another hot summer-like day today, that makes 2 in a row, same expected tomorrow! I'd let Tyler wear shorts to school tomorrow, but mornings have been cold enough to leave ICE on my car windows in the morning.

But......Tyler did ask me today, "how many more days before it snows?" LOL! He's ready for winter! :)

Been working all day! Checking quickly during supper, watching my lawn magically getting mowed, then we have to head out to scouts. :thumbsup2

Well, it's been a nail-biting few days, but I'm happy to report I am not on strike, the contract was ratified by a mere 56% My company also has stores in Windsor, Chatham and Sarnia that are a different union local, and they did vote strike! They were voting on the same contract...and yes it is a very crappy contract  I am in the same local as Toronto stores, and if it hadn't been for their votes we would have been on strike too! Mixed feelings on the whole thing BUT now I can continue to plan for the LA/ Alaska B2B :thumbsup2

Hi Kathe!:yay:

Glad to know the strike is off... I forgot to ask... which company do you work for?

Ahhh .. . Guess it's definatly not Price Chopper then...:rotfl:

Hi Michelle :yay:

Loblaws, they're owned by Westons...think lots and lots of money

We used to have Loblaws grocery stores in upstate NY when I was growing up. I workedin the local one for the summer of 1968.
