Thank you for the birthday wishes. This is sort of a big birthday for me. Yesterday I was thinking that when I moved to Chicago in my 20's I worked with people who talked about early retirement at 55. Back in those days you could retire when you reached 55. I don't think I'll be retiring on Monday.

I think every birthday you celebrate is a good birthday, because it beats the alternatives.

Not doing anything special today, not really, in recent years I've only made a big deal out of my birthday twice. When I hit 40 I had a birthday party at Chuckee Cheese, and when I hit 50, I celebrated by taking friends (anyone who would come down) out to dinner at WDW. In the end, 12 friends spent the weekend with us and I took us all to dinner at Jiko.

Besides, I already had a pretty fabtabulous birthday celebration at Disneyland for my 55th. Disneyland and I both celebrated this year, though it's a month older than I.

This is the first weekend in longer than I can remember that we didn't have anything planned. I usually plan our weekends so we'll stay busy and have fun, but with Tyler being sick all week, I didn't bother. I didn't expect him to feel better so quickly. Well, he did start coughing at 4am for a couple hours, so we've been up a long time, but he's BORED and I'm at a loss of what to do because I don't want to drag him out and infect people, but this is day 3 on antibiotics, so he shouldn't be contagious, I suppose. So off I go to figure out something to do. :thumbsup2

Ian, I love the Chuck E. Cheese birthday party idea! :rotfl2: I love it! Might have to steal your idea. :thumbsup2

My mama turns 83 on 8/24 :thumbsup2 Sadly - she starts radition that week too :sad2:

What an awful birthday present. I remember when my grandma went through radiation. It was much worse on her than chemo was. Hoping your mom tolerates it well.:hug::hug:

Cool place, have a good time! :thumbsup2

I'll add a birthday to your August list. One of my brothers' birthday is the 19th.

Brian's girlfriend's is Aug 5, my SIL is Aug 8, Charlie's was Aug 20th, my best friend's is the 29th and mine is the 31st!

Hi Kathe, glad you had a peaceful evening. Have a lovely time with Serenity. Our grandson(6) who lives in Northern Ireland is over(with his mum) for the weekend. They are staying with our son and DIL. We saw them yesterday for a few hours and had fun. He is so like his dad, it is a shame they aren't all together.:sad1:

Hi Marilyn, I'm glad you were able to have a good visit with them yesterday. It's hard when families are broken :grouphug:

She is a good age. Difficult for her though having radiation treatment. I hope it goes well for her. Hugs to you.

It is Kathe. We have just been over for tea with them all. Nice time!!

We ended up not going. After I got out of the shower and dressed, I asked Tyler to go brush his teeth and get dressed and he never came back out. :rotfl2: I found him asleep in bed. He slept for 2 1/2 hours and just got up. Skipped lunch, so I just gave him an early supper. He just tried to chase down the ice cream truck! :rotfl2: It's impossible! He drives so fast down the street. As soon as you hear the music, you have to bolt out the door and run. I told Tyler we need a jet pack to strap on our backs to catch that guy! Fortunately, we had one more ice cream sandwich in the freezer he could have instead. :thumbsup2

Sleep is so good for him being so poorly. He must have felt better to go running!:thumbsup2

Excellent idea! Ideally there should be one for each of us, so we don't have to get up to fetch our own cookies, which increases the risk of tripping and falling!:lmao::lmao:

Great suggestion Cheri.

Also on the WBTA 2010 thread they keep on asking for the geezers to be identified. Don't they realise a Geezer characteristic is an inability to recall names :rotfl2::rotfl2:

 :rotfl:

Hot and muggy! At least we will feel like we actually had a summer this year :beach: Last year was much cooler and rainy :sad2:

We got lots of rain in the spring and some this summer, but for the last few weeks all of the rain has been all around here but keeps missing us. My flowers are not so happy!

My house is quiet at the moment :goodvibes Serenity arrived late afternoon and was good as gold :cutie: BUT busy, every moment! We spent some time outside watering flowers and blowing bubbles and searching for ladybugs, sticks and 4leaf clover :upsidedow After dinner and bath I put on a dvd of the muppets, an Elton John episode and she actually sat still for half an hour watching :) After several books she finally went to bed, she's only been asleep about an hour! I'll be tucking myself in shortly!

I like Elton John too... and you are a WONDERFUL granma!!! :goodvibes

:lmao: I'm usually early with everything, this year I renewed my plate really early, right after I got my new car. I filled in the form and handed it in to the clerk...she looked at me and said really??? You only have 20 km on your car ;)::yes::

When mom turned in her last lease... she only had 9200 miles on the car... after 3 years... I told her she really IS the little old lady that takes the car to the library... :rotfl:

Thanks Holly!

I have to say goodnight now! I have no idea what time Serenity will be awake, but I'm exhausted and still have a day and half to go...I feel like I'm in a marathon :thumbsup2

Give her lots of kisses... and throw in the rest of the muppets...

:dance3:HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN:dance3:

:cheer2:HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!:cheer2:

copied because it is cute and i'm lazy

me too...

I fractured the radius in my right arm...I slipped on some water up in front of the Outlook Bar. It was Wed. afternoon of the second week.

I think you were trying to roller skate up on deck... :rolleyes1

BTW, I guess I didn't tell anyone that when Ian and I were at Forest Lawn I tripped on a curb and fell on my knee. It was on the grass so I didn't think it would be too bad.... You should see the bruises on my lower right leg. Jeeze...:sad2:

You sure you tripped over a curb? Nobody was under that curb were they?

btw... who famous did you see?
