Thanks Marilyn, it probably will. Haven't taken it yet though. Had to go tend to my neighbor's cat and other things at their house, then figured I might as well do a couple more things, so I washed dishes, washed a load of laundry and now I just have to hang it outside to dry, then will try calling my mom again and then take that nap. Just a short one though. I want to have lots of time to clean. Off I go!

I'll bet you ANYTHING that Cheri is going to be lolling around at Ian's on Thanksgiving...

Nope...as a matter of fact she received her assignment already However...I think the rest of us should be going out to a movie that afternoon, while the team at Eastwood Manor gets our dinner ready.


Had a great, relaxing, COOL time up north. Cheri took great care of us (she was actually making homemade pizza when she stopped and took the lounging shot). We jabbered away, looked at photos and videos from past cruises, read, dined out for a breakfast and a dinner and watched two movies!

We also took care of some trip planning...starting with Cheri's assignment while on the Panama (get us a GREAT table location/servers for the 2 day in January), checked out flights around the Alaska adventure and chatted about the Dream.

I also got to fondle Ian's Nook...I think I want one of my own (actually, I read half the new Sookie Stackhouse novel, so it was more that just a 'fondle').

Ian should be on his plane now...we did manage to get back into Phoenix in enough time to feed him some breakfast at our favorite neighborhood spot (sadly, not enough time to make it over to Mimi's though). I'm going to have a cola and Cheeto break and take a nap!

Deb, so glad to hear little Jeffry is doing better....what a cutie!.

How crappy for her mother to not want to have her this weekend. The day will come when Serenity realizes this when it happens in the future, and I'm so glad she has you and her loving daddy to be there for her.

Kathe, missed your post about Serenity's mom not having her this weekend - thing is she knows you will have her!!

Yes, we will always be here for her Serenity's young enough that she doesn't understand that this weekend she should have been at her mom's. But you are right Holly, when she's a little older she will notice. I hope her mom smartens up and gets her priorities straight. I still remember the dissappointment years ago when my father would cancel visits at the last minute

Thanks for sending pixie dust and prayers for my little baby cousin. Here's an update from Amy, his mom:

Baby Jeff is doing great..he is off oxygen, lungs are clear, we fed him today..if he keeps up the feedings and his stats stay stable..he will go home soon..I'm so excited!!!!

What a relief. Thank goodness his lungs are better and he's finally eating.

Head hurts today. I hate to do this, but I think I'm going to lay down and take a nap, hoping it will feel better when I get up. I've gotten in the habit of being pretty productive on weekends, no more naps or sleeping in all day, I hate to break my stride, but my head is throbbing like crazy. Can't complain though, it's the first one I've had in probably a month. I still love my preventative med, it does such a great job! Before starting on it, I used to have a migraine AT LEAST once a week. Now I still get one about twice a month, but when I do get one, it can usually be knocked out with just 1 or 2 doses of Excedrin and isn't debilitating like before.


Have to call my mom first though. She got rid of long distance service on her phone when she had to retire super early 2 years ago, trying to eliminate unnecessary expenses, and so when I call her and leave a message, she can't call me back, so I have to keep trying. Sometimes she'll email me but when I email her back she might not see my response for a couple weeks because she doesn't get online much. So I haven't talked to her in at least 2 months, probably 3. She emailed me 2 days ago and I've been trying to call her with no luck. Drives me nuts.

Hope you got through to your mom. Do you exchange Xmas presents with her or does she have a birthday coming up? Maybe you could give her a long distance calling card

Well, I'm heading outside to relax and read on the deck. It is much cooler today, but still warm, just not hot and muggy. I worked all day and go in again in the morning so want to get a little bit of fresh air while I can. The days are beginning to get a little shorter already

No, I didn't reach her yet. I like the calling card idea though, thanks! Her birthday already passed, so Christmas will be next, but I might get her one soon just for the heck of it.

Yes, I did get a nap, woke up after one hour, decided I needed another hour. My head still hurts, not as much, but too much to want to clean. I just have to bring in my clothes that are outside drying.

yes to both... The usual bet is $2 but you can go higher... it depends on how the horse runs and how many people have bet on it... that determines the payout... Something that is 10 to 1 is going to pay twice the amount that is 5 to one...

Happy Sunday everybody!

I'm tired of all the forest fires that have been burning around BC. The smell of smoke all the time is irritating. Luckily nothing is too close to us, so we are just getting the smoke.
Packing & cleaning out the house is underway. Ken took the first load of stuff up with him when he went up for work on Friday. This week he'll be driving back and forth everyday so a few more loads will go up.

Ian / Jackie / Cheri / Bubba & V - looks like a great time was had by all on Ian's journey
