Happy Sunday everybody!

I'm tired of all the forest fires that have been burning around BC. The smell of smoke all the time is irritating. Luckily nothing is too close to us, so we are just getting the smoke.
Packing & cleaning out the house is underway. Ken took the first load of stuff up with him when he went up for work on Friday. This week he'll be driving back and forth everyday so a few more loads will go up.

Ian / Jackie / Cheri / Bubba & V - looks like a great time was had by all on Ian's journey :goodvibes

Michelle & Deb - hope you had a great day at the races and share some pictures

Kathe - hope you had a great weekend with Serenity and enjoyed the birthday celebration on Friday!

Oh no! Sorry to hear about all the forest fires. Yuck.

Good job on all the packing and cleaning! Where will Ken be storing all your stuff? At a relative's house?

Do you want a little smile? I hope my US friends can understand everything. I've deleted one or two that might get removed anyway!!!

I think we should all incorporate fibula with it's 'new' definition into our conversations.

I must go groom myself and hunt down food. Everyone enjoy the rest of their Sunday.

Just a tease... I have to go eat - I'll be back to post more later...

I thought her question was valid - how much would she win if she placed that bet? Do the odds matter?

I'm with ya Holly ...whatever :snooty:

what a relief - glad he is doing better - is mama well too? He looks robust - how big was he when born?

Thanks Nan and everyone....all your thoughts helped. He's getting better now. Mama is being bad. Her doctor let her out of the hospital early so she could spend one hour a day with the baby. She hasn't left his side. His dad either. So moma is being a mom and doing for her child and not herself. He was 7.5 oz. when he was born and started losing weight because he wasn't eating. He stopped losing and started gaining again now that he's eating. Thank goodness.

@ Nan and Holly.....yes the odds do matter.:thumbsup2 Google it. Kinda confusing.....bigger the odds, bigger the payoff if your horse does what you bet it to do.

You had to see me the first time I placed my bets and totally confused everything. The poor guy. But by the end of the day I was doing great. I learned. At first I only bet that my picks would Show....come in first, second or third. Then I started betting that they would Win and Show....so if they came in first I would win more based on the odds or if they came in second or third I would still win something.

Next time Shell is going to show me the exacta....I think it was called....something about picking the first and second to win. That's harder, but pays more.

The payout also depends on what amount of bet you place. I only did $5 bets for each pick. The guy at the table next to us had a wad of cash everythime he came back from picking up his winnings....which he did all day long. I only won up to $20 once on a winning race.

I did ok. I broke even at the end of the day. The first part I lost more each race, but the second half I won more each race. Overall I won 5 out of 11 races. It was so much fun when you get a winner!!!

Here are the names I like: Pistols at Dawn (that cracks me up); Aegean Sunrise (because I'd like to see one some day); Sky Blue Pink (my favorite color), Mystic (Peg's horse's name); Buckle Up Buttercup (love the alliteration) and finally, JELLO SHOT!

You kids have a GREAT time at the races!

I picked Pistols at Dawn and it won. I picked Sky Blue Pink and it lost. I picked Mystic and it lost. That's funny that we picked three of the same ones.

Nope...as a matter of fact she received her assignment already :lmao: However...I think the rest of us should be going out to a movie that afternoon, while the team at Eastwood Manor gets our dinner ready. :thumbsup2

Had a great, relaxing, COOL time up north. Cheri took great care of us (she was actually making homemade pizza when she stopped and took the lounging shot). We jabbered away, looked at photos and videos from past cruises, read, dined out for a breakfast and a dinner and watched two movies!

We also took care of some trip planning...starting with Cheri's assignment while on the Panama (get us a GREAT table location/servers for the 2 day in January), checked out flights around the Alaska adventure and chatted about the Dream.

I also got to fondle Ian's Nook...I think I want one of my own (actually, I read half the new Sookie Stackhouse novel, so it was more that just a 'fondle').

Ian should be on his plane now...we did manage to get back into Phoenix in enough time to feed him some breakfast at our favorite neighborhood spot (sadly, not enough time to make it over to Mimi's though). I'm going to have a cola and Cheeto break and take a nap!

Deb, so glad to hear little Jeffry is doing better....what a cutie!.

:grouphug: for Everyone!

.

What a great great time you all have had. I'm so happy for you. I'm sorry I couldn't be there too.

Thanks Jacks, what a relief that little Jeffrey is improving.

I think we were the only ones in that luxury box that WASN'T a bookie... :rotfl2:
