Aw, thanks Marilyn! I'm enjoying it too! I did stay up way too late last night, but am up early enough to eat breakfast and be online a bit before leaving for work, that's something else I'm learning to enjoy!

You know this is something that just makes me smile Holly. I know you have had a difficult few years, and needed some meds, but now you really seem to be enjoying things.

I chatted the night away with Casey last night talking about the cruise. He had lots of questions. Then I went shopping with him right online to buy cruise casual dinner clothes for him. His 18th birthday is in August so I said Happy Birthday and bought them and shipped them to his house. I love technology. He told me what he liked, I searched and sent him links, he picked what he wanted, I puchased the items and we chatted the whole time on FB. Amazing isn't it!

I can't wait. I'm really excited and hope that he doesn't blow it. He's psyched too. His mom says he's been extremely good, no arguments, no problems since March. That's a good sign. That was before I offered him to come. So I'm happy.

I told him who we're sitting with....DISer friends that we have not met yet from the cruise thread.....Sharon and her 18 year old son Robby. They're also doing the Atlantis excursion that we're doing. Perfect. They're from Colorado. They're also doing the same B2B as us. For the second half we're sitting with Sharon and Robby and Lisa and Darrell and her sister Jen and niece Lila who will be turning 9 on the cruise. When Casey heard this he said.....awwwww, this is going to be great!

I've had very shocking news. It's really quite quite quite disturbing.

I was on Facebook and got an IM from a friend here in Chicago that a mutual friend was found dead this morning. He had died last night of a heart attack. He was only 54, a year younger than me.

I'm really shaken up by it, because it's someone I knew well, and an age peer. It is also disturbing in light of my being carted off to the hospital a couple of weeks ago.

Sukie saw him at an event just two weeks ago and put a photo of him in the paper.

Sukie and I are just plain in shock.

Ian, as we all know "tomorrow is promised to no men" to lose a friend is really tough, kind of a reminder to us that we have to live every day to our best.

Looking gorgeous, Nan!!!!!

Just read a blog of someone on who got on the Magic today for the final Baltic. He reported that he was 'unofficially' told that the Magic will be back there and doing more Baltic's in 2012. (He is concierge level so it may have been said in the meet n greet there.) If it's true I hop the Med portion has some new ports (like GREECE). Though I'd still choose a long southern Caribbean over that I think (due to flights).

Yay!!! That's great news!!! I am so peeved I missed out on the Baltic cruises this time around (stupidity on my part!!) so would be delighted to try again... And fingers crossed for alternative Med ports...

Our Dates in October

I seem to recall there was a morbid interest in exactly what our dates are for our October trip. Well here they are:

Arrive Saturday, October 9th.

Depart Saturday, October 23rd.

Those are the plans right now and they are firm for Sukie and his daughter.

I might have to be more flexible.

I started 2010 with 10 unplanned days which is why I decided to go to DL and AZ and book that up. Unfortunately I burned through 2.5 days with the bout in the hospital and 1 day where I needed the time to take care of personal matters.

That only leaves me with 1.5 unplanned PTO days. I may need to use time to deal with matters at hand.

If that happens, I'll probably arrive in WDW later and not be there for the whole fortnight.

On the other hand everything could turn out hunky dory. You never know.

I just REALLY hope we get to meet up, Ian. We will have to miss your Thanksgiving spectacular (I am very sad about that) due to the new job and all that jazz, so were very excited to think we'd be able to get together in October...

Thanks Deb - even though my sister takes my mom to the doctor I'm still the "parent" in this case. I'm taking her to surgery and checking her in. I've gotten all the pre-op calls. One just a minute ago and I'm a freaking mess. I wish I had someone who I could unload on about this stuff that knew her and understood. The family dynamics just make this stuff so hard.

To add the mix - I'm in for a medical test in the morning too. I'm just stressed outta my gord right now and feeling very issolated..

So I've come to find out that both she and my uncle use the same profile....he was very upset that I posted pictures of his brother and not him. OMG Grow Up!! He called me on my cell this morning to disown me and curse at me to the point of abuse. I was in tears. He didn't let me get a word in and then hung up on me. I privately messaged my cousins and talked and vented. Now I feel a little better. He would NOT do this if my mother was alive. I'm just dropping it like a hot potato at this point. I deleted his wife from my friends list and that's that! I may have to change my cell phone number, we'll see.

That woman needs to use some common sense. Good grief! I sort of feel a little sorry for her for how clueless she is. I can't believe nobody in her family, especially her own mom or stepmom, haven't given her books on baby stuff. I might pick up one that covers the basics and tell her I "found it" and thought she might like it, but I don't want to offend her.

Sounds like a perfect solution. You are cleaning out and need a new home for the book!!

I am frankly surprised that the pediatrician is not loading her with info If I got read the riot act by my MD, I'd be in the market for a new doctor.

I think it is a compliment that she trusts your judgment and considers you to be the final word in all things related to her baby.

My uncle Frank is in the Hospital.. he's awaiting surgery... he's 84 (this is my dad's brother...) apparently it's a hernia that he had 30 years ago that is the problem again... they are seeing what's to be done next... so some prayers and pixie dust are needed please... I don't want to lose him yet...

Uncle Frank has always been special to me... he's always treated me as if I was one of his own...(he has 3 daughters...) and considdering I had a difficult relationship with my own father... he was always there with the love and acceptance that I didn't get otherwise...
