Deb - stay inside!! YUCK!!

I ended up cancelling my trip to MD this weekend....more dissapointing I'm sure to me than the little girl :(

Oh well....now doing tons of OT (must pay off those cruises) LOL

Monica, so sorry you had to cancel.

...OT is a blessing when you can get it....that and tax returns. It helps to pay for all the booked cruises.

I just filed my taxes today and despite thinking I'd have to pay this year, I don't owe and will be getting enough to pay off the cruise! :yay:

::yes:: I'm 2 sizes down from a year ago, and it feels good. Progress has really slowed down for me on the scale, but the shape is still changing, and the scale will start moving again. :goodvibes
Shannon, WAY TO GO!!!! :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1: GREAT JOB! :dance3:

:lmao: :lmao:
so when John did the slide down the hill in the beast did he do a Dukes of Hazzard yell?
That's the image that popped into my head reading your post, Deb.:lmao:

:rotfl2: That's what I pictured too! :rotfl:

Where is Holly these days??? I miss her.

Aw, it's nice to be missed! :hug:I was just telling a co-worker yesterday that I'd been away from the internet for a couple days and I was sure somebody would be shocked not to see me. ;)

I was just very busy. It's my week with Tyler, so life and fun stuff got in the way of my internet time. And one day we had a snowday, so we (I) shoveled for at least an hour, then we went sledding for almost 2 hours. :goodvibes We both went to bed at 7pm and were surely asleep by 7:30. :thumbsup2 And I've been going to bed the same time as Tyler and that time after he's in bed is usually my internet time. So.....lots of catching up to do! Tomorrow I hope to catch up on FaceBook after he goes to his dad's.

And there are 3 men with whom I've been trying to arrange an evening. :thumbsup2 (NOT to be mentioned on FaceBook please). Busy times.

Michelle told me I need to stop on by here again. I have not been on the DIS for months . . . too much work, and FaceBook has been more efficient for me I guess. For those of you not on Facebook, I hope all is well with you my friends, and winter is not treating you too badly.

Things are pretty unchanged here - snow and more snow.

We have not been on a cruise again since we were with all of you - we have been to Disney a couple of times.

Our next cruise is an Alaska in July 2011 - far too long, but the economy has not been too kind to us.

We are enjoying watching the winter Olympics as a family - one of our favorite things to do every two years.

I'll try to check in every once in awhile . . . and Ian, I never have bought Applecare. Maybe dumb, but see then I can always tell Amy if the old one is broken we need a new one!
Hi John! You're missed here! :goodvibes

Glad all is ok Holly. And, those 3 men are more important than being on here, but keep us informed - we need to know!!!!

I went to see Crazy Heart today. Jeff Bridges was really good, so good, in fact, it was hard to watch at times. I loved the music, too. Going to download it.

Speaking of downloads, I saw the new version of "We Are The World" on TV today, and then downloaded it from iTunes. So interesting to see this one and remember the first one. The two clips of Michael Jackson were poignant, I thought.

Loving watching the Olympics!:cool1:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL THE THIEVES

Make sure you get yer booty today and don't give nothin' back. arhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi friends, Happy V Day everyone! You're all sweethearts to me.

I'm waiting for John to wake up and open his present. It's a Mickey plush toy holding candy and roses. I got him two tees too. One says, I'm Grumpy....Deal With It! The other says, the Original and it has the first Mickey on it.

Naturally, I got some tees for me too....Tinkerbell with glitter wings, Mickey and Minnie Valentines and another Mickey and Minnie holding hands.

I also got new jewelry....no diamonds....just white gold. I got my name necklace...not a Mickey one. This one is a little bigger and easier to see. The Mickey one is very small. This one also has hearts. It's very pretty.

:woohoo:

I downloaded the song and video from iTunes too . . . gave me goosebumps.

Oh, I also got flowers...very pretty pink roses with fushia edges....they're two tone....georgous. They're in my Mickey vase.

I also got a phone call this morning from Mickey...he said, this is your Pal Mickey! Then he said it was a special day and that he was going fishing with Donald and having a picnic with Minnie.

How cool!:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

And now for the latest drama at Eastwood Manor.

Sukie got his iMac back yesterday. While it was in repair he had been working on mine, though under his own user. My machine was not backing up during this time, because there really wasn't enough room on my external drive for both our Time Machines. His files also weren't backing up to the normal off-site web based storage, Sugarsync.

I started moving files from my iMac to his, and somehow got confused in the process. I thought I had duplicate folders and deleted one (I was doing all this over the network). We then realized that I had deleted his latest files on my iMac. I ended up deleting his latest blog, newspaper column and a chapter of a new book!

What my triple back-up redundancy plan never contemplated, was a machine outage and then fat fingered Ian erasing files.

So, there was hysteria and panic all around. At first we thought I had deleted his entire history book, six years worth of work, but then found that we had lost a week of work.

I then had to hunt down a deleted file recovery program, which took 11 hours to run to scan my hard drive for the deleted files. I also had to run it on his iMac, in the hopes that I had fleetingly copied the files there to his machine prior to deleting them off of every hard-drive on the planet. The program cost me $99 which was an expense I was not planning.

We managed to recover some of his work from Sugarsync, and his lost files for the week from the recovery program.

The blog was recovered completely in tact. The book chapter unfortunately only had an older version recovered but only about 4 sentences were lost.

All in all I started on this at noon on Saturday and finished at 6:30 am today.

Everything is now calm and peaceful. This afternoon I am going to get him another external hard-drive as a back-up to the back-up to the back-up. It may seem excessive, but it's worth it as that is all of his work.

In this case my redundancy plan would have been fine, had his iMac not been out of commission for a week.

Though no amount of backing-up will ever compensate for fat fingers.
