The snow has finally stopped. Shoveled for the 4th time this morning before I even had my coffee.

I had done it right before I went to bed and I am amazed at how much accumulated overnight. Based on what was removed yesterday, I would say that Eastwood Manor got over a foot of snow. I would say it was about 16 inches / 41 cm.

Now comes the second huge physical effort, I have to get dressed to leave for work. It takes me about 10 minutes to get suited and booted up.

Good Morning Friends! We only got about an inch of snow overnight, but it's starting to pick up a little now. We expect to get wallopped as the day goes on. John took a snow day off today. He would have made it into work, but he would not have made it home. We expect NJ to declare a state of emergency so he should be fine.

I got a phone call from Sandi last night. Kris can't miss any school or he won't graduate....something about not turning in assignments and having to do make up work. So his trip up here is cancelled. It's a good thing I didn't spend a lot on the plane tickets. I can get about half the money back when I cancel so I'm only out $75. Sandi told Kris that he owes it back to me. Kids! They're so unpredictable.

I think you said you were doing EPCOT today. Of course, it may be too cold and that's why they're available. Well, just in case you can do it...I wanted to post it for you.

IT'S SNOWING!!!


We have about an inch so far... and the plows have gone through... I believe they are just salting so the school busses can bring the Kindergardeners home at noon...

We are not expecting much unless the storm goes a bit north...

I'm going back to bed... took a muscle relaxant because my tailbone hurts...

YUP, we have about six inches after last night and today. It's still going and the high winds haven't kicked in yet. Twitter says they're in the DC area right now. Also, central PA and Pittsburgh are taking a pounding right now. Both are coming our way....we're in the bullseye of both storms. I'm glad John stayed home. I expect to lose my satellite and electric. Fortunately I have kerosene heaters and a generator. I also have pleanty of hours of recordings to watch. Maybe I can get caught up before the Olympics start.

We're up to about a foot of snow out there now. They say we're getting 2" an hour for the next 7-8 hours. WOW....that's a lot of snow....on top of a foot already. NOW it's winter!!!

Here it is cold, but if you get out of the wind the sun is very pleasant. Going to be a cold night though!!!

Thanks Deb. Can't manage tonight, but the idea is great!!!!! I bet they are cancelling because it is going to be very cold and it is worse on the water.

Sorry about the pain Michelle. Shouldn't you be taking bone relaxers though, not muscle relaxers!!!

I'm so glad John didn't go into work today. PA closed three interstates locally so John would not have been able to get home.

NJ has already been declared a state of emergency.

John is good with his job now for not going in today.

Hi Marilyn, I'm sorry it's so cold there for you. I hope you packed some cold weather clothing, unlike me and John when we were there recently. We packed for 50 degree weather and it was low 30s when we got there.

If you don't have the proper clothing you can always do what John and I did, go shopping. Sweatshirts and electric blankets really help.

We're up to about 2 feet already and it's coming down fast. John said it's heavy wet snow that packs down really well. He said if he was 20 years younger and all the kids and grands were here...they would all be outside building things. How cool.

They're still saying we're getting 2 inches an hour until about 8:00 pm. We'll have at least 3 feet by then, maybe more. WOW! That's a lot of snow. It'll be dark soon, so we won't get to see how much it ends up at until tomorrow morning.

Angel, the weather dog, keeps going outside to lie in it then she comes through her doggie door covered in white and shakes. EEK!

Wow, that is some snow Deb. You won't be going anywhere that's for sure.

They haven't plowed our streets at all yet. It's just coming down so fast. So it's very dangerous on the roads, even if you could get out. John will probably have to take another snow day tomorrow. They have to plow the roads after the snow stops falling. When they dig us out on the roads, we can dig ourselves out at home...so that John can get back to work.

Now I'm glad that Kris' visit was cancelled. We would have had to pick him up on Friday. I'm not sure we'll be all cleaned up by then.

Hi Monica, YES I am staying indoors. I'm shut in for a couple of days. It's really no different than most days for me except that John is home too.

So sad not to be there for the little one on her very special day. You'll have to settle for pics and stories. You can call at least and talk to her.

OT is a blessing when you can get it....that and tax returns. It helps to pay for all the booked cruises.
