We're a bit further than that. According to Google Maps this is 13.3 miles away from us 22 minutes without traffic, 35 with traffic.

Would you be more NE or NW of the airport? I'm booking danno. As soon as the window opens. We will definitely be there.

What's the name of your section of town? All I know is Western on the Brown line. I'll be driving and looking for a hotel. Please advise.

Hi Gang, been a while since I've posted. We had a wonderful vacation. Fishing and snow days. It was perfect. But now home and back to reality. Between stuff needing attention at home and being overwhelmed on the job,but I may have some news to share on this front. please send the PD, I think I might need some. In a good way. I think I need another break. Oh, wait, I get to do DL with the Bday girl this weekend.

I had a snarky reply but it got lost...stupid internet...

I'm there in pencil for now (job thing must be settled before travel plans in pen)

All my Disney ornaments and decorations came today. OMG that skirt for under the tree is so beautiful. I'll have to get a close up picture of it. I went with the Mickey tree topper. Me and John both picked that one and it matches the skirt. Besides, I already have the Tink one. I like it and the ornaments. I can't wait to do my tree this year.

JACKIE It is kinda exspensive, but its family style all you can eat. So if you can polish off some ribs, its worth it. Have you been there yet? Its all good, chicken, ribs , slaw , beans and cornbread. Drinks and dessert are extra. See ya real soon!!!

Thanks Mon....I found nice hotels in the downtown area and it looks like Ian is uptown. But even those were $150+ a night. I'm looking for nice, near enough and a much better price...if possible.

I've never been to Chi-town so would also do a bit of sightseeing. Looks like this isn't far from Wrigley's.

This one is absolutely beautiful Monica...and it looks very close to Lincoln Square. But it's $200-250 a night. I wanted to stay at least 3-4 nights. That's $1k for me for half a week. I don't spend money on hotels, just on cruises. I found some downtown that looked really nice for $150 and I can drive. We have to see what else we find and what Ian recommends to us. I wonder if you could get the Hawthorne for less on priceline....like V does. Probably. V, how far in advance can you book with priceline?

Deb - I'll also be checking for TA rates but won't be making any decisions at this time anyways....will need to see how much time I can take off to go around the town too. I'm just looking around right now.

I don't plan on driving.....as long as I can do the El/subway/what ever it's called I'm good.

Bubba, I ate there for lunch last summer and really liked it! I'm glad that's where we're going.

I was able to go everywhere I wanted to go by El and bus! It was great!
