For those who have gone recently do you think the Blue Bayou is worth the cost? Especially wondering if you end up with seating away from the water. Have heard mixed reviews in the past and while I assume it is really neat if you are at one of the water edge tables, what about all the other tables?

We were there in June. The food was way better than I remembered and I think it was worth it. BUT...we were at a table right next to the kitchen. So 3 people had a nice view of the lanterns and the pretend night sky, but I was was watching the wait staff go in and out of the kitchen the whole time, which wasn't very magical lol. I think if youhave a table within the first couple rows from the water it's great but the ones toward the back aren't as nice. Overall it's still a really cool place to eat, though. Over the years I've had tables near the kitchen or bathrooms but I'd still go again. I've had water tables too and those are awesome.

I tend to select restaurants based on the food rather than the view. My experience at BB has been OK. Not wonderful, but ok food. View was interesting but not enough to make it a must.

We go every trip; it's a must-do for us due to the ambience, not the food. Food has been of variable quality over the years, but last time we went, it was very good. If a water view seat is important to you, arrive early for your reservation and let them know you're willing to wait for one to come available. They usually overquote how long it will take.

we usually go and we enjoy the food, its usually either there or napa rose and for us BB has been a better menu

We went in June - our first visit (to both BB and DL). We were lucky to get seats right by the water, so it was certainly an experience/memorable. The food was fine, but not enough to make me want to go back every trip. I could see where the ambiance would make it a repeat for many…

Yes, for the ambiance, especially if you get a waterside table. Last time we dined there we asked to wait for a waterside table. Our party of three waited about 30-40 minutes after our reservation time before a table became available. It was worth the wait. The food quality is variable, so go in with moderate expectations.

I think it's worth it. I try to eat there when we go. What's the trick to getting a reservation these days?

Compulsive checking of the dining availability in the app? Kept looking and looking and finally had 1 dinner reservation spot pop up for our trip in a couple weeks. Never been so watched a few youtube reviews and every single one was by people sitting right by the water and gushing about how cool that is. But could see all those other tables which got me wondering about their experience.
