Shannon: Hopefully soccer will give her confidence :thumbsup2 I used to think (and still do sometimes) that Molly can be wimpy and not stand up for herself. But she is a different person than I. She is able to make people feel at ease with her style (something that I can't do) so I'm trying to learn from her softer side rather than trying to toughen her up. Make any sense???

The guy you guys arent fond of on that "other" thread, reminds me of Newman on Sienfeld. Had the "pleasure" of ignoring him a few times in Rockin' Bar D. His group and our group were the late nighters in the bar everynight. Ignore him Marilyn, it was very easy for me to do. Very abrasive personality.

You hit the nail on the head :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

::yes:: Marilyn, I think that is EXACTLY what the ignore button on the DIS is for :thumbsup2

Maybe after not seeing his comments then he would get the hint that no one is listening anymore ;)

Totally makes sense. Ken gets more frustrated than I do with the timidness, because he wasn't like that as a kid. I was shy and wimpy (I'm still quite shy. Look how long it took me to get active on here :lmao:, but once I'm started you can't shut me up :lmao: ).

With Shaelyn I often find myself sounding like my own mother, saying the same things I remember her saying to me :lmao:. I don't want to change Shaelyn's personality, just help her learn to speak up for herself when she has too. I don't seeing her let other guys push her aside. If kids have to lie up for anything, Shaelyn is always at the back, cause the other kids just shove in front.

Now I'm really going to have to go check things out :lmao:

a slight piece of good news. eBay is allowing for a relisting of our car for free (because the auction got queered by a stupid decimal point bidder) and another car, like ours, but in show condition, is now getting alot of bids. I just wish the issue was closed. The longer it takes the closer I get to having to dip into our retirement accounts and those actions cause penalties and taxes  just seems crappy that a person being stupid can cost someone else so much :headache:

fingers crossed that the car sells this time :cool2:

I came to work early today, gambling that I'd be allowed to start early and leave early so I can go to Kaleigh's soccer today. The boss said no problem so I can do that every Monday assuming no disasters occure. Kaleigh has soccer from 4-4:45 and then Shaelyn has soccer at 5:45, so it'll be a busy night. Shaelyn's never done soccer, but after seeing Kaleigh do it, and seeing all the bigger girls for the session after Kaleigh's, Shaelyn decided she'd like to try it. She's already missed 2 or 3 weeks, but they were still allowing kids to join so we let her. I'm hoping it will help her toughen up a little. I love her dearly, but sometimes she is a wimp. I hope running around doing a team thing will be fun for her and help her get a little teeny bit more assertive. Mostly I just hope she has fun. It is so funny how much of myself I see in Shaelyn as I was a shy wimpy kid, but I grew up and learned to stand up for myself and she will too.

It'll be a busy few days, with both girls having soccer today, Shaelyn has Brownies tomorrow and then soccer again on Wed. Hopefully Kaleigh isn't too annoyed that Shaelyn gets soccer twice a week and Kaleigh only gets it once.

Just so you moms know ... MY parents always accused me of being wimpy. Even into my adult life my father accused me of that.

I remember how angry it made me as a child. As an adult it just got to be down right bizarre.

Congratulations on getting the inaugural cruise on the Dream and making your dreams come true.

Good luck Nan! Hopefully it works out better this time around

Good comment Ian. Labelling children can be bad. I do tell Shaelyn she is being wimpy sometimes. Like when I'm trying to pull a sliver out and she starts bawling before I even touch finger. Then its "stop being a wimp, I haven't even touched you yet. Now I know you are tough enough to let me get this out" And then after its all done I tell her "see it wasn't so bad".
I think I am guilty of the classic parent mistake and wanting to make things better for my kids, when sometimes they will figure it out for themselves as they get older.

thanks, I'm sad to let her go, but she is an investment and if you don't use those gains when you need them they can *zap* disappear...so I learned the hard way in the dotcom bust. I hope she goes to a good home, she really is a sweet ride :car:

::yes:: thanks. Fortunately, this kind a deal is very safe on our end. Money in the bank way before the car leaves the garage. We just need to find her next forever home ;)

I certainly didn't meant to imply anything. You and Nan are wonderful mothers as was mine. Besides, it gave me something to rebel against.

I think it's good to imply, even to us perfect mom ;):lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

sometimes we just want it ALL for our kids and actually by wanting it ALL, they lose things on the other side...make sense?

okay, now I'm going in to make asparagus soup, wish me luck :thumbsup2

....and they have

:thumbsup2

Great... now I HAVE to go look... :rotfl2:

We're in a Deluxe Oceanview Cat 9A (#8002) right at the front of the ship which will be a novel experience...

So you get there before Deb?

Carol did well didn't she?

Just did a 7 minute mile on the exercise bike. I burned 135 calories. Now I can't walk....my legs are like rubber. I only did arms for 2 minutes. I don't want any pain. I'm getting closer to my 2nd 25 pound goal...just 7 more pounds to go. Yeah!

Now I'm on my way to the post office to sign for my package. Gee, I wonder what it could be. Ha. It's my pink diamond ring. I'm psyched. I can't wait to be wearing it.

I woulda thought running for that ring was excercise enough... :rotfl:

Another day of bad pain...

took tramadol last night and laid there loopy...(watched some of the stuff I have on the DVR... someone please remind me next week that I did watch the reruns of Brothers and Sisters when I wonder where they went...)

not sure what's causing it exactly... probably fibromyalgia... since it is all over...

Was only able to eat once today...

Have to get myself better by tomorrow... I have to go get my hair cut... (desparately needs it...)

Deb & Kaz... glad you got your SR's... so where are we staying?? :dance3:

You'll have better luck this time especially with competition. I hope the car sells BIG!

So sorry that it's a pain day Michelle. Whenever I'm feeling in pain or sick, I just sleep until it goes away. It usually helps.

I'm in SR 5150. It's a navigator verandah, which I didn't want but I didn't know the category descriptions so I picked this SR by location. Oh well. I'm on board so I'm happy.
