Welcome back Gaylean. I've missed you.

No idea what you are talking about there with the Hokey Pokey , but glad you had such a great time. Looking forward to seeing photos, so get moving with those please.

There was a sign in the room that had that quote. You do have the Hokey Pokey there, right?

Urgh, that spider looks like it lives in a hole in the house.:scared1:

Love the pic of Ethan.

Love the pic of Ethan.

It was right outside the front door :scared1: We didn't get pictures of the other critters because we didn't think about it until we saw so many  The bad thing was that one day we woke up and the front door was open. I guess the wind had opened it in the night.

hi, all, I am awake at 4am...couldn't sleep! Crazy.

Ian, they had "Out and Proud in Chicago" on our PBS channel last night, and I recorded it. I am watching it now while I am up this morning....

It's great to see Sukie's part in it....that's really a big deal! Good for him!

Yes he's a "star." We kept having people come up to us this past weekend.

Hi All.....I got some sad new today. __________________

I posted this on November 9, 2008.....I just found out today that my best friend died on March 24, 2009. I've been crying all day.

What a shock. At least I know he's hanging out in heaven with my mom.

:cloud9:

Oh Deb first  and

Next as a read your post I thought I had read it before, and then I realized you were quoting and I started to feel hopeful for you then dashed :sad2:

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a friend at such a young age who is "healthy" just makes NO SENSE. Death is part of life and when it comes for those as our elders I think if we are graceful in handling it that is fair, but when it comes to the young there is nothing graceful about it.

Cry as you need and talk to us and share. That is what seems to get us through our grief sometimes.

I'm a big believer in those that we know in life know all of those the rest of us know in heaven. So while Brian is dancing and eating up a storm my dad and Michelle's dad are standing off to the side chuckling (as they have found each other there, as Chel & I have here) It will all become clear for us when we reach heaven, until then have faith and trust in God.

Darn it I'm still bummed I missed it here, and now I'm thinking I bet it was on here last weekend  I think google and I have a date to find Sukie in SF :woohoo:

You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out,
You put your right foot in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey Pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about.

You put your left foot in,
You put your left foot out,
You put your left foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey Pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about.

You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out,
You put your right hand in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey Pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about.

You put your left hand in,

Popping on for morning coffee break time!

Deb - sorry to hear about your friend :grouphug:

Kathe - happy to hear about your son surprising you :thumbsup2

Now I've got to get back to work:sad1:

sweetie...it's normal to feel that way... you're in shock and you need lots of love... :grouphug::grouphug:

Deb, I'm so sorry :grouphug:

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your friend.....how quickly it can happen. Lots of love and hugs, Connie

Deb - so sorry about Brian -:hug: - I love picturing him eating w/ your mom & dancing w/ your grandmother.:hug:

I love you all....you help to put some good back into my life and it off balances the sorrow. I'm so fortunate to have found you and I'm happy to share life with you. Many hugs.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Nan, so while Brian is eating with Diana and dancing with Athena....and these two dads are having a good laugh themselves....what are their names so that I will recognize them when the time comes?

It's nice to know we'll share the love there like we do here.:cloud9:

I love the Hokey Pokey and the Macarana....not so much YMCA.

Marilyn, these are silly dances that we all do at weddings, but it can be a lot of fun.

Do you have any special things or dances that you tend to do at every wedding or big party?

Oh, I know the Hokey Pokey( we call it the Hokey Cokey), but was wondering what she was meaning in her post.

Do you do 'put your whole self in' verse?

By the way, between verses, do you all do chorus type thing. Standing in a circle, holding hands walking into the middle raising arms in air and back x3, then doing actions for last line?

Oooooooh, okee cokey cokey
Oooooooh, okee cokey cokey
Oooooooh, okee cokey cokey
Knees bend, arms stretch bow wow wow(or wow wow wow or something that sounds like that?)

When we were there with the grands in May we watched the Country Bear Jamboree doing this with guests, and I was waiting for the chorus bit, but they didn't do it and it didn't feel right!!!

Thanks Shannon....I'm still holding out for good news about the job for you. Either way, the right one will happen. :wizard:

Oh, and we sometimes changed the words - instead of 'Oh okee cokey cokey', as we rushed to the centre we sang 'Oh kiss 'em in the middle'!!;)

Yes Deb, those are popular at big parties. Perhaps not the Hokey Cokey these days. The Conga is always popular.

We do put our whole selves in....but I dont' think we have ever done the chorus thing. So we do the same thing, just a little differently.

I love it, it's fun!

What Gaylean is referring to is the old age question of...'what's it all about?'

She's saying, what if....the hokey pokey really is...the answer to the question....'what it's all about'.

Because the last line of the hokey pokey verse is....'that's what it's all about'.

Did that help or confuse you more?:confused3

Oh, I love the Conga....de de de de de DE....de de de de de DE....so much fun.

Ya think maybe we should plan a night of doing these in Rockin Bar D???

Ha, well I do kind of understand. Gaylean is getting back to those rather unusual questions then?
