Ian - do you get many kids into WW? What's the youngest age that can do it? The on-line one doesn't take kids.

Shannon,

A very good question. The policy is no children which is defined as under the age of 10. WW accept adolecents (age 10 inclusive to age 17) provided they have a physicians note that gives permission for the young person to follow the program and their physician must specify in writing, their ultimate goal weight, or within a month of joining provide written notice of the young person's goal weight.

Interesting is that I cannot allow adult members to have a goal weight below the healthy range for their height, unless they have a note from their doctor.

Their parent must sign the health release.

The young person must also follow the guide set aside for members their age, which is higher in points than for an adult and also has a good health guideline that includes more milk.

I think the reason why the online program doesn't accept young people is because of the difficulty in enforcing policy and monitoring the young person.

Its been a nice weekend here. My parents brought the girls back from camping about 11:30 and came in to visit for a while. The girls were stinky from the campfire, but very happy.

We've decided to pull the girls out of their daycare, because we're getting too frustrated with some of the rules and the poor communication. For the summer, a co-worker and I are getting together to hire a student to watch mine and her kids at her house for 3 days a week, and Ken will keep the girls the other 2 days. Hopefully that works out okay. Then in the fall, we'll have to find a new daycare for the girls, that will be willing to take Shaelyn to & from school. Hopefully it will all work out. We may end up paying a higher rate in the fall, but it will save us $1000 bucks over the summer :thumbsup2

Time to get the girls to bed. Tomorrow is another week. I get to sleep in a little bit, since Ken is keeping the girls. :thumbsup2

That sounds like a great day care solution.

Glad the girls had a good time! I hope you and Ken enjoyed your kid-free weekend too! :goodvibes

Sounds like a good plan you have for child care. :thumbsup2 I just realized I have to sign Tyler up this week because when we get back from vacation school will be finished. Dang, that means I have the stupid $60 enrollment fee they charge every summer and every school year. Ugghh!!! :headache: That will come out of our vacation fund. I was so focused on vacation, the thought of day care just wasn't in my brain yet, so I'm glad you mentioned it.

That's good info to know. Tyler asked me recently if he can do WW too because he sees how excited I get at every pound that falls off. I told him he can certainly eat the same foods I have, but I can't track his stuff online like he wanted me to. So he's been eating much healthier because of the things I've been buying, and he's constantly asking me if a particular food is healthy for him. I don't want him to obsess about it, but am glad he's interested in healthier choices.

OK, so I didn't eat healthy today at all. I had 6 pieces of pizza and 3 pieces of cake. But this is the very first day I've thrown WW out the window and just went crazy. I sort of feel like it was a nice reward, I enjoyed it, and I'm ready to be back on track tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Photobucket is taking too long tonight, can't stay awake any longer, heading to bed. ANOTHER person got fired on Friday, so tomorrow at work will be interesting to see if we have a replacement or if work loads just get shifted around. That's 2 people fired in 2 weeks. Wow! While I know it's a tough job market everywhere right now, Michigan still has the highest unemployment rate in the country, so I really feel bad for those 2. Our office manager asked us to say a prayer for them both, and I agree. Very sad.

Thought I would pop in and say HI!

Matt and I are doing well, very busy. My stepdad is worse, he can't walk at all now and was falling out of his wheelchair so my grandparents bought him a scooter. So I spend most my days at my moms helping out. Moe is still here and is a very loving cat. Matt says its time for him to go back soon. We are both training for the TOT 5k in Oct. Matt is doing better than I am at working out but, I can still out run him. Last time I ran though I broke out into hives and couldn't stop itching. We hope it was me being allergic to my pants but I got some cream to but on before I try again and hopefully it will work.

I hope everyone is doing well. Matt wants me to post some pics so hopefully I can tomorrow.

Michelle, I hope you feel better soon!

Where is everybody tonight?

Has anybody heard from V (FL) how her cruise was?

I should be cleaning the piggies' cages, but am too tired to mess with it tonight, and besides, they seem to be down for the night anyway. They had an exhausting day too because they had lots and lots of people handling them again and again and again. :thumbsup2

Glad Tyler had a good day!!!

Oh boy, Tyler and I are in for some serious weather changes when we hit FL! Temps will be in the 60s (F) here (possibly low 70s) but it looks like it's in the 90s in FL! Holy cow!

Cool ties Holly... COOL TIES...

Happy Birthday Tyler!:cool1::woohoo::thumbsup2
Sounds like it was great party!

Holly - that's a great email from Tyler's dad. You should keep it to re-read when you are getting frustrated. :goodvibes

Michelle - I hope you are feeling better! :grouphug:

Hi Kelly, Kathe, Deb, Deborah, Nan and everybody else!

Still working on the fever... Mom declared me sick  Will probably be better tomorrow..

Holly... V's back from the cruise and is posting pictures over on FB...

Hi Jill

Glad to see you!!! Was wondering how you two were doing...

Post pics... we love them!!!

Love to Matt!

Good morning Thieves!

Happy Belated Birthday Tyler! Sounds like he's been having a blast!

Michelle - hope you're feeling better

Shannon - sounds like a good idea for the girls :thumbsup2

Jill - good to see you - sorry about your stepdad

Ian - I think it's wonderful of you to sub for the other WW leader. She's got enough on her mind right now & I know that she is very thankful for you.

i'm feeling kind of crappy this am - took a tylenol pm last night cuz I was hurting & knew i needed to sleep. Well - I didn't sleep well at all. Had weird dreams & kept waking up. I woke up groggy & have a bad headache (surprise, surprise).

I was supposed to have blood drawn this morning - well, I get to the place and as I'm turning off the car I realized that my lab order form is on the back of my door at home - so there was a waste of a fast & of waking up early. Now I get to try to do this all again tomorrow am.

UP was cute, but quite dark at times - LOVE Doug the dog.

Purchased my insurance for the Tortola cruise today & will be calling in my pymnt for the cruise at lunch. :thumbsup2

Sorry you are feeling icky AND that you have to repeat the fasting/trip to the clinic!

Sister Dianne is also buying her insurance and paying off the rest of the cruise today. :cool1: AND getting her passport renewed. :thumbsup2

Cool ties Holly... COOL TIES...
Yes, I know, I'm taking the one we have for him. It's already in my suitcase. :thumbsup2 He was able to last about an hour outside when he used that on the cruise, so it's a great help! :goodvibes We also have a spray bottle fan for him. He wouldn't make it very long without having both of those.

For those of you on this thread doing WW online, there is a new interactive pasta plate builder.

Keep in mind that portion control is still key and the points they show does not necessarily translate to a restaurant serving that might equate to as much as 3 or 4 servings.

I have these too, with etools, I like the salad bar and the hot drink ones. There is also a grill, cocktails, thanksgiving, beer, pizza, red meat and sandwiches.

We just got back from seeing UP. Our son, Mike, said it was probably his favorite Pixar film to date. We liked it, but not as much as some of the earlier ones.....But it was exciting!

why do you hate FB Holly????

I'm not really sure, I think I just find it hard to follow, hard to keep up, etc. I've found that sometimes I get an email notification that somebody commented on something, but by the time I go check it out I can't find it because so many things have posted since then. And it seems like I have to look multiple places to see everything from everybody. It's just a hard format for me to follow, too scattered or something. I'm just used to this format here on the DIS and I don't like change. ;)
