Hi Ken, I see you on FB and Twitter from time to time.

Good to know that you only have 5 days left until you can be with Shannon and the girls again. I think what your family does is the hardest thing ever to do and maintain. It will be great to get back home again. :cloud9:

That which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger ....

Or at least that's what I keep saying to myself.

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:AK is where we were 1 year ago. Thats where we spent the day before we sailed on Sat.

Hi V....hey tell Bubba that Sunday is special V day and he has to pamper you all day long. Sounds like heaven.

I'm with you sweetie. All day long I will be thinking of you....sending you love and hugs.

I do agree that spending the day last year was much preferred. At least we got to do it there for the first one. That will always be important and something we will always remember.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Hi Deborah.....don't worry, Summer will get here.

Hope you have a great day at work today.

Because I'm home and not on an outside schedule....I wait until I'm hungry before I eat. Well it was right around 11am and I was getting very hungry. Before I ate anything, I jumped on the scale again....just because. I went down another 2 lbs from earlier when I weighed myself around 6am. How did that happen??? I already plugged in the 2 lb loss for the week so I'm sticking with that on paper. But it feels really good mentally to think that I could have had a loss of 4 lbs this week. WOW what a difference. Looking at it the way Marilyn does that would be 7 lbs lost in 2 weeks. That I LIKE! Either way it's working and it gives me more incentive to stick with it as a lifer.

I just ordered Richard Simmons' Sit Tight video....all exercises done from a chair. Amazon had it. I love Amazon. At least I can start some form of activity this way. I'm looking forward to it.:yay:

The last day of our vacation today. I think we're going to have a relatively easy day, and spend sometime in Animal Kingdom this morning. The choice this morning was playing resort bus roulette or just choosing a park. We decided it would be good to have a wander around.

Then later today some packing.

Sounds like you've had a great holiday. Ken and I had similar Columbia shoes for the PC trip last year. I loved them too.

Today was my weigh in day for WW....lost 2 lbs.

:thumbsup2 I read all the posts and understand your frustration. A while back Ian posted a zoomed in shot of a painting where all you could see were blobs of colour and then the picture of the painting to show that all the little bits make a masterpiece. Keep that in mind when you see the small numbers. The other thing that you will like is even with small numbers, on-line you can look at the graph of your weight and see the downward trend! And slow and steady is the healthiest weight loss. If you average over 2lbs a week, WW online reminds you that losing too fast is not healthy. Have fun with your video when it arrives, and good luck getting things moving with Ray's finances.

To Holly I would say you can cook chicken breasts or fish so simply, and add flavours to change the meal. Pop some nice fresh veggies in, or a salad, and it will be easier to keep control of rather than eating fast food all the time. I used to pop chicken breasts or fish in a foil parcel, sometimes with some added finely sliced veg/herbs/soy sauce etc, cook for 30 to 45 mins and there you are. Good with rice or a (small) jacket potato. Obviously you can grill too, but I found this way so easy as I could just leave it.

Marilyn, you are so right, and Tyler might like it as well. My girls love Teriyaki sauce. Stir fried or steam veggies with meat and rice with Teriyaki sauce works great for them.
You can buy microwave ziploc bags meant for steaming fresh veggies or buy frozen stir fry veggie mixes to save on chopping.

A new favourite food of mine is edamame (young soy bean pods). They come frozen in small packages. just poke some holes in the top and microwave for 3 min. Then put on a bit of rock salt. Then one pod at a time, put in your mouth out the beans and garbage the pod. They are delicious and feel like your eating a snack and it takes some time to eat.

Hi Shannon, you are so right to remind me of the picture that Ian presented. I must keep that image in my mind and not forget. Thanks.

Isn't today your weigh in day too? How did you do? You have lost a lot more weight right? How long have you been doing it for now? You're such an inspiration Shannon.

You know what I LOVE about doing the online tracking.....when you fill in the daily healthy checks bars and a happy face pops up when you have reached the right amount. Everytime it pops up it surprises me and makes me happy. I LOVE that.:laughing::laughing:

Bubba is so good to me. He's taking me to San Diego for the weekend. We will leave after work.

We may come home to fire refuges at home. His parents and brother aren't in an evacuation area yet, but if tonight has the winds last night did, they may need a place to stay. so if they have to leave they will come to our house.

Today is my WI day too. Since I do meetings, what I WI there is my official numbers and I drove to my meeting today only to find it lock up tight. They hold them at the local YMCA and all I found was an empty parking lot.:sad1:

So next weeks number should be really good, cause I'm sure this week would have been a decent loss.

Hello everyone and happy anniversary. Last year we were celebrating Ethan's birthday at the Nick Hotel. This year we are having a party at Pump-it-up. I guess it can't be great every year. Anyway, I have no time to catch up. I just wanted to send out a shout out to my cruisin homies :grouphug:

oh and Happy Mother's Day

My weigh in today was a total surprise. I've been doing WW online for 5 weeks. I got a really good number my first week but part of that is because it was losing the weight I put on in DL. This week was my best loss since week 1 and I ate the worst and did the least exercise :confused3. My losses have been 7.1, 0.7, 1.1, 1.3, 2.6. I had started trying to lose weight on my own at the beginning of the year (with some success). This week's loss puts me at 20.5lbs down so far (averages to 5lbs/month:thumbsup2). If I don't get a gain next week, then I'm changing my 15lb ribbon to the 20lb. I don't want to put it on only to have to take it back off. I am really enjoying learning the value of food and the points value of the exercising. I am very lucky that I have a co-worker who has done WW before, and she is happy to share her tips and suggestions on foods that are available at our grocery stores. Ken is supportive at home, dis'ers are supportive here, co-workers are supportive; all of that is making it work for me. My aunt died of cancer a year ago, and my grandma always compared me to my aunt since I was little. I was the oldest granddaughter, that aunt was the oldest daughter, we were similar personalities and interests. We both got university degrees, got married a little older, started having kids around 30, got larger after each pregnancy. At New Year's I realized, I don't want to end up dying of cancer before I have grandchildren, so I want to lose the weight and break the chain. The thought process isn't completely logical, but for me it was mental click that got me motivated. Sorry for the long response, I just started babbling.

Wow, it's your last vacation day already:sad1: I hope you've had lots of fun! Say hi to Cheri and Jackie for me when you get back home :)

Marilyn, I'm trying to get caught up here, sounds like you are having a good trip so far :thumbsup2

I am officially on vacation as of 3:30 pm today :cool1: Got in my car around 4 and couldn't make it turn corners, okay, I could but I really, really, really had to pull on the steering wheel to make it happen. So an hour later, and $35.00 poorer, I'm hoping it's fixed :headache: Luckily there's a car shop just across the parking lot where I work, they said a belt was loose and they thought it had slipped so I had no power steering :confused3 They tightened it and I finally made it home! Hope this isn't an omen of how my vacation will be!

Hugs to everyone struggling with health and weight issues :grouphug:

Lots of extra hugs for all who will have a hard time on Mother's Day :grouphug: My thoughts are with you all.

YES, he's the BEST and we LOVE him too!!! So glad to hear that you're getting out of town. Have an awesome weekend. I would probably be doing the same thing if I could. I told Ray we would go to the mausoleum already and I got some potted roses in a basket to bring. My brother is still in Corpus Christie working on a ship and he also asked me to go see mom with flowers from him too. I gotta do it.

Wow, scary. I hope that Bubba's mom and bro are safe and can remain at home. If they do have to get evacuated, at least they have you to help. I've been watching it on the news and it seems to be worse than the last set of fires in Santa Barbara. I hope that changes quickly and everyone stays safe.

Oh boo hoo. No fun. So sad. Is it because of the fires?

So next weeks number should be really good, cause I'm sure this week would have been a decent loss.

YEAH for you V....back on track again. Can't wait to hear next week's numbers.

Not babbling....very good information that applies to all of us. I'm glad you shared. I'm sure that unhealthy eating opens you up for all kinds of diseases. You are so doing the right thing for the right reasons. Keep up the great work.

Congratulations on your 20lb. loss....you are doing so fab.

Yes they are and so well deserved.

Hi Kathe, forget what's already happened with the car.....it's not an omen....just dismiss it. You're going to the happiest place on earth and your vacation has officially started. YEAH!!!! Hope you have a blast and take lots of pictures to share with us.
