Kill the Mouse!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Not THE mouse though.:scared1:

Yeah sure. Bet when I come home nobody comes running....

This is why puppy dogs are so great, they ALWAYS come running! (Wait till the girls are teenagers...you'll have to hunt them down behind closed doors.)

Isn't 42 days of holiday just a teensy bit ostentatious, and perhaps more than a little greedy?

They're trying to beat Woody's record!

.

:wave2: Bubba!

Okay, the girls are all tucked in, and I'm settling down with a big glass of skim milk and a Hedgehog:yay:
I hope the girls are feeling better! What on Earth is a hedgehog (besides an animal)?! :rotfl2: If you've already answered, please ignore and I'll see it when I catch up.

Hi Michelle!!! I hope you have a good sleep tonight :cloud9: I just got home from work a little while ago and have to go back in again in the morning so will be heading off to bed shortly myself.

Just in case you need more pixie dust...
:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:
:tinker:

Kathe

Thanks Kathe!!! :flower3:

Kathe,
Most the grocery stores in my town are pushing the reusable bags. Our Save On foods doesn't charge for using plastic bags, but you earn reward points for using reusable bags or reusing your plastic bags. I really like the reusable bags, because they hold more and don't tip over :cool1:

Have a good night, I'm off to curl up in bed and watch Numbers :happytv:
I really like the reusable bags too. But if I used them for groceries, I'd have to buy plastic bags anyway for garbage. :headache:

Good morning Ken.

What happens when you freeze them? I think I froze mine last September in La Gomera as it was sooooooooo hot and I thought it would be good!!!:rolleyes1 Won't it work now? Sorry.

Oh, this time it will happen.

You probably could freeze them... obviously the crystals that are out in my garden freeze... I think it breaks the crystals down - the tie gets very hard. Keep it in the fridge and you should be ok and just "recharge" it with some ice water later... :thumbsup2

& I certainly hope it happens this time!!! ;)

It's not about the volume but what the volume consists of. Filling foods are naturally going to be higher in volume, but much lower in points, which is why they are such great values. They fill you up.

I would not worry so as you are staying within your points.
Makes sense, but still seems too good to be true. I would never have thought losing weight would be this easy! Monday is my weigh in day, so wish me luck! Not sure I'd see any results in only a week, but even one pound would make me happy. :goodvibes

It's a lifestyle change, it doesn't have to be about deprivation.

Deprivation doesn't work because it can't be sustained. Eventually it leads to rebellion.

The key is to allow some points for treats but not to use too many of them on "empty points."

WW did 3 years of research and test trials before Momentum was launched. They studied successful members and struggling members.

The studied showed that both groups understood the concept of points and how to calculate them.

The key difference between the two groups was the way they managed their points. The struggling members, though staying in their point target, used more points on foods that did not satisfy their hunger (candy etc, and were often hungry).

The successful members tended to choose foods that offered the biggest bang for the the point buck, stretched out their points, avoided being hungry by using filing foods, and managing their feelings of deprivation, by planning in favorite foods.
Thanks Ian, makes sense. I did splurge at the end of the day two times, but was never hungry, just wanted a couple treats and had extra points. So I should be OK then. :thumbsup2

This week at work something very ironic happened, while working on a workers' compensation claims project, I went to HR to file a potential workers' compensation issue.

Beginning around Tuesday, I started to experience pins & needles in my fight hand and pain shooting up my right arm, over and around my shoulder and down my back and side.

It got so bad on Thursday, that by 4 pm, I could not use my right hand and had to move my trackerball with my left hand. When I got home, I couldn't even open a jar.

Our risk control guy visited me and my desk is being redone, to change my set up,

My hand and are are still rather painful, but given that for most of the coming week, I won't be at work and then on vacation, I'm hoping it will go away.

On the plus side, from this project, I'm now familiar with state workers' compensation forms in 23 states.
Oh, welcome to my world! The attorneys I work for are work comp attorneys.

I hope changing the set up at your desk takes care of the problem. Sorry you're having this pain. Hopefully being on vacation will give your body the rest it needs and you can start with a new set up when you return. Did you make a doctor appointment to get checked out?

Hello, I'm here, for a minute. I have Brooke's first campout with girl scouts. We'll see how it goes.

Shannon, I hope the girls get better so they can come running when Ken gets home ;)

Holly, I'm glad the points are working for you. I've decided to join online because I can't make the meetings. We'll see how that goes. I'll keep you all updated. I haven't gained any of the weight back that I lost so I'm happy about that. Now to lose some more.

Deborah and Marilyn, I miss you too. I just can't get on as much anymore. Maybe tomorrow will be a lazy day. Marilyn have fun on your trip.

Michelle, good luck for whatever it is.

And I'm sure there is more but I'm lost so I'll try and catch up with you all tomorrow.

Hi Bubba and V. I know you're out there ;)

Hey Gaylean, great job with maintaining the weight you lost! That's got to make you feel good! Good luck with WW online and losing more! I hope I can soon count myself among those of you losing. :thumbsup2

Have a great time at GS camp!

Oooooh! We're getting our first storms of the season today, tonight, and tomorrow! Supposed to be severe storms today and tonight. I love thunderstorms (as long as they don't cause the power to go out)! :goodvibes

Ohhhh Sweetie... welcome to my H E L L....

you're bothering one of your nerves. (probably Carpal Tunnel...)

I on the other hand have nerve impingements. (in other words MY nerves are already stuck in scar tissue...) (I had 6 surgeries to get rid of what I could...)

It sort of feels like pins and needles and if it feels like you hit your funny bone, then it's the ulnar nerve. Which fingers did you feel it and what side of the arm can you feel it? Front, back top of the fingers? Believe it or not... I killed all 3 major nerves in my right arm. I have that pain every day. From my finger tips up to my neck.

Trick is to catch it early and often.

Best thing is to ice it on the palm side of the wrist.... Do not leave it on if it starts to hurt - too much exposure. Also ice where ever it is hurting on the rest of the arm.

Also.. you might want to make sure you have a good wrist pad (gel) for your computer. I use one with the mousepad attached to the gel pad. (Belkin - Amazon has it...)

There are also excercises... I will look it up and post them... they are just simple stretching (I do them without thinking...) but they help.

AND... take some Tylenol, Motrin... an anti inflamatory... take it for a couple of days. It will also help.

Hope that helps... let me know if you need anything else...

Yes indeed!!!:rotfl2: We're also doing 6 weeks in Sept/Oct too. :cool1: There has to be some benefits from being this old!!!:lmao::lmao:

It is also our 40th wedding anniversary year so that is another excuse.

Sooooo... what are your dates for Oct????

You know? I had these symptoms before our Lanzarote vacation in February. I am on this laptop a lot, and have a mouse on the chair arm beside me. I didn't like the pins and needles at all and as you said the pain up the arm, It took me some time to realise what it was.

Fortunately the rest away from the computer eased it, so I hope it does the same for you. Now I try not to be on as much or hold the mouse as much.

Marilyn - see above...

Michelle, that sounds a nightmare. Plus you have other painful things too. Poor you.

We fly over on Sept 7th, have 5 nights at SSR, then do the 2 back to back cruises, then 1 week at BCV and 2 weeks in a villa fairly close top Connie's.

John had the idea if we were paying for the flights we might as well make it worth while! He was the one who decided on the length of the stay surprisingly.

This is the gel pad I use for my computer...

Median nerve Glide excercise

AND....

Go to CVS or whatever pharmacy and go to the area where they have the ace bandages and get 2 kinds of braces (splints) ... both are for hands... (they should have one that is interchangeable...) One is hard the other is soft. Wear the hard one for a couple of hours during the day - even when you are typing... and the soft one at night when you are sleeping.

When it bothers me... I will wear my braces for a couple of days and the pain will ease up or go away (the increased pain.. not the ones I have all the time...)

It will make a difference and bring them on the plane with you to FL... flying can make you swell a bit and any swelling in your hands especially from the heat and carrying your luggage will bother your hands too... I have them with me just in case. All it will do is rest the area. BUT IT IS WELL WORTH IT!!!

That and changing your set up at work will work wonders...

My Dr... Dr. James Hunter was a world known hand specialist... he took care of everyone including Artist Andrew Wyeth and alot of pro atheletes. He was also a musician. One time one of the pianists from the symphany in Philly came to see him thinking she has serious problems and that her career might be over. He came to see her play and discovered that she wasn't sitting at a correct height and it affected her posture. They raised the bench up a couple of inches and she wore splints while resting and her problems went away.

I'll just have to slap people left-handed.
