Can't keep my eyes open any longer, going to bed and will just set my alarm for 10:00 and that should give me enough time to clean just a bit before dad & stepmom get here. :thumbsup2

Goodnight everybody! :cloud9:

GoodNight Holly.....sweet Mickey dreams.

I'm here.

Deb, you have a wonderfully inspiring WW leader here who is willing to help you on your way. Go for it. there is also WW online. I believe Shannon is following that.

Ian. Fantastic story and before and after photos. Thanks for sharing.

Holly, glad you had a great time in Chicago visiting Truman and Tallullah and their pet humans.

Michelle. How is the kidney stone?

holy cow - my mom got her cruise docs today! we sail 5/16!

please take me:thumbsup2;)

Hope everyone is having a good day today....

I met some friends for scrapbooking (we're trying for 1x/month) and got 20 pages mostly done - just need to journal now. Felt good to do that - we also took about a 1 1/2 hr break for lunch.

Will then came over & we watched Marley & Me.

Trying to do my :laundy: right now - dryer just bussed so I guess I should go out there & get that taken care of.

BRB.

I hope you remember box of tissue?? My friend Alison went to see it and she vow that she never watch that film again!!! She was crying all the way home and gave her dog cossie (lab dog) hug cuddle...

Before (the 3 that exist, and when I was going through a "thin" period. There are almost no photos of me, because I typically did not allow myself to be photographed)

I hope this has come across as a lecture. I am just very passionate about smart eating, because I know that for me, my life was literally transformed by it.

wow amazing story.... I need to lose weight too and find a bit struggle now and my friend argument with her workmate and 4 weeks trail who won lose weight between men and woman.... As it is competition for 4 weeks to won the money for 100 pounds...she pointed out that men lose fast than woman??? Do you Know which men or woman fast lose weight at WW?

Ian, I just have to let the cat out of the bag. :rotfl2: Everybody else: I just came back from a great visit with Ian and Sukie. My mom joined me and we took a little road trip today. I was so excited to meet Tallulah & Truman! They're SO adorable! It was really hard not to sneak out with them! Cheri is going to fall in love with them for sure! We had a nice tour of the neighborhood (which I loved), had a nice lunch, and I just enjoyed myself. Sukie was a riot, my mom just got a kick out of him and also kept saying how nice Ian is. :goodvibes

THANKS A BUNCH IAN!

Oh that is wondeful and wonder if you drive to Scotland to meet us - wonder how long it take to drive :rotfl:

Yes, John is the only one that cooks. But he'll make a crock pot meal once every weekend....then eat it most of the week and alternate with a george forman meal or a microwave meal. Or worse yet, we'll order in.

I will do the george forman meals or microwave meals only. I also eat the ordered in foods....love those....I know, not good.

This is perfect. You can microwave or grill and that's fine. I would just add in something else that's easy, steaming, for vegetables, and also salad or perhaps soups.

There is also a WW slow cooker cookbook. We don't sell them in the meeting room anymore but I believe they are still available on Amazon.

This is what I need to learn. Do the points have anything to do with counting calories? When I would strictly adhere to a diet, I always counted calories.

Points is a shorthand way of talking about calories. Every food has a points value and every person has a personalized points target. I think points make it easy and manageable, plus there are some foods for instance where the points allow you to "get more." I usually have fat free cheese slices on my sandwich. Well, one slice is 1 point, but 2 slices are also 1 point. It doesn't tip up in points until 3 slices. So, therefore I get more than I would if I had just counted the calories.

You calculate a personalized points daily points target, then you also get a set of weekly points to use as you see fit. A little everyday, or all of them for a big bash. They are there to help you from feeling deprived.

Do you cook? Does Sukie eat what you cook?

Sukie does most of the cooking during the week, and I cook on weekends.

Typically our meals during the week are very simple. Some grilled veggie burgers, soup and some steamed veggies.

I eat HUGE meals. I mean the sheer volume is staggering. But, it is comprised mainly of vegetables.

I also really like the "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray and the Molly McButter cheese sprinkles.

We still do have some very special meals out, but special means special. I like to focus on IPF

I = Items (what I choose)
P = Portion (how much I eat of it)
F = frequency (how often I eat it)

[When I weighed 90 pound more, I was eating half of an extra-large pizza a few times a week. Now pizza is very infrequent, a very special treat, and I don't eat half a pizza anymore.]

When you say that, I think of eating veggies and fruit with little meat and no starches. Is that what you mean?

I would say that using fruits and veggies are good, because they are filling and round out a meal. Starches are good too, but the right kind. Some are more filling than others. For instance a plain baked potato is more filling and has more staying power (for satisfying hunger) than bread. I frequently have oven roasted potatoes (no oil) with my dinner. I also have a sandwich everyday (bread that is 1 point for 2 slices) for lunch.

Follow the program and attend the meetings. That's the key to making it work?

For me it worked. I realized that I couldn't go it alone. I don't know why. The support really helped and I also used (and still use) the tools for living and helpful habits (all the behavioral tools) to help motivate myself and help me control situations.

I have already started using "mental rehearsal" for our trip to WDW. I have the entire "film" in my head of the meet-up brunch at Olivia's and what I am going to order and how I am going to order it. This is just one of the tools for living. I know it sounds goofy, but the more mentally prepared I am, the more likely there will be a winning outcome and I'll make the right choices rather than panic and make a choice that will make me unhappy later.

I don't want to make it sound like I will be depriving myself either. I will just be choosing when to "spend" my points and when not to. I still have Dole whip planned in, nice dinners and a big splurge at Boma and California Grill.

I have never tried WW before....but I'm currently where you were when you were standing on the L platform. I'm 52 and at my top weight ever.

You can attend a meeting for free as a guest. As I tell my new members, it is important to find a leader you like and a group you like. I lead 3 meetings on Sunday mornings and all three are so completely different that it's astounding.

I have some members that are big fans and some members that come and prefer other leaders. Just like fashion, there's choice. Otherwise, there would be only one style of clothing for everyone in the world.

OK, one of my final comments about WW. I like the fact that everyone, including the CEO is on the program. Everyone who leads a meeting must have reached their goal and stay at their goal. Unlike other programs, we all know what members are going through. I have a member who lost 100 lbs who has just become a meeting leader.

I like the fact that WW requires that we "practice what we preach."

But honestly, I also believe that any program that works for you is the right program, be it WW or something else that helps you reach your goals.

I hope that some this helps. I know that Weight loss is not easy. I wish it was.

please take me:thumbsup2;)

Weight Watchers is designed to produce a weight loss of up to 2 pounds a week. It doesn't make a difference if you are a man or a woman.

A man gets more food because a man's body is composed of more muscle than fat. Muscle burns more energy than fat.

If you have 2 people a man and a woman and both weigh 170 pounds, the man's 170's is a higher percentage of muscle whereas the woman's 170 pounds is a higher percentage of fat. That's just biology.

I personally do not believe in "weight loss contests" or "races" because it is setting people up for failure. The question is arriving at a destination and not how long it takes to arrive.

I myself kept giving myself "deadlines" and remained overweight for over 20 years. When I finally removed the time aspect, I arrived at my weight destination, even though it took 18 months.

Now 4 years later, I can still say I am at my destination.

Oh dear. It seems to happen like that doesn't it?

Holly, sounds like you and mom had a great road trip! :drive:I'm glad you didn't kidnap T&T, as I'm looking forward to meeting them. Every once and a while, I call up sister Peg and say "it doesn't matter if you are home...I'm coming over for some puppy love" :dogdance:

Deborah, so sorry about the fridge. When I had my power outage problem, I had to throw away a mess of stuff. Thankfully the frozen stuff made it to Peg's freezer. I still have to replace some of the basics that got pitched out.

please take me:thumbsup2;)

ME TOO, PLEASE!!! :goodvibes

I hope you remember box of tissue?? My friend Alison went to see it and she vow that she never watch that film again!!! She was crying all the way home and gave her dog cossie (lab dog) hug cuddle...

Oh, I better not watch that movie then. I stay far away from movies that make me cry.

Isn't the saying that bad luck comes in threes, you should be safe now! Sorry you have to get a new fridge though.I always worry that my fridge might go while I'm away on vacation , what a mess that would be :scared: Didn't Lisa have to clean out her mom's fridge once, after she moved , and hadn't told anyone there was still food in it? I had to replace my washer and dryer a few weeks ago, I'm still waiting for the third breakdown (might be me!)
