His Selfness and I went for a walk about town this afternoon. It's funny, because I work down in the Loop, but basically only walk from the bus to the office and the office to the train.

It was sunny and about 35F today. I also tried out geotagging photos.

Here are a couple I took today.

This Shocked Me. It was new to me. A sculpture of American Gothic (Which is hanging in the Art Institute, our art museum)

Geeze that guys small! No wonder you couldn't see him when you were backing up!!;)

Well, that's all for me folks. I have a TV stand to put together. Well, I guess the box says it's called a "console". Whatever. I had a hard time finding something I like. It's cherry wood and very, very heavy. I think the box says it's 140 pounds. 2 Wal-mart workers managed to find a way to squeeze it into my car, and I had an awful time getting it into the house. Having a hard time figuring out the first step in the instruction book. :rotfl2: I'm usually really good at assembling these things, but this looks harder than anything I've ever done. So I think I'll at least try to start it tonight. :thumbsup2 Then to bed early tonight. Tomorrow is going to suck at work. I'll have to work for the 82 year old guy I used to work for because his secretary is off tomorrow and the next day. :headache:

I HATE assemble it yourself furniture. It is the sign of the collapse of civilization. It's the truth, and I can prove it. They found assemble it yourself furniture in Pompeii, and look what happened to them.

My desk was assembled in my office. It can't be moved. It wouldn't fit through the door. If we ever move, we're going to have to get a sledgehammer and bust it up.

It's been swell hobnobbing with you grown-up types, but now I must toddle off to slumberland.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

About as much as Marr had to pay!:rotfl:

But it was still less than her cell phone bill... :rolleyes1

Night Ian... Sweet Mickey Dreams as Deb would say... :cloud9:

My phone never rang!!!:snooty: But thanks for the Valentine!

We were both busy... I'm sorry... and judging by how quiet it's been the last couple of days...I think we were ALL busy.... if you get my drift...

Be back later Bubba... have to go and confer with the Queen Mum about the visit of the Royal Prince nephew tomorrow... pirate:

Holly... make sure that the stand is really put together very well before you put the TV on top of it... you wouldn't want the TV to go flying off of it...

Good luck!!! :thumbsup2
No worries, I'm good at putting things like this together. And the TV gets mounted right on it, and then you anchor it to the wall behind, so nothing's going anywhere. :thumbsup2 This will definitely not be a one evening project. I didn't even start because I got sucked into Priceline ALL EVENING and couldn't pull myself away! :rotfl2:

Good grief, I stayed up too late. It's almost midnight. Goodnight all! :cloud9:

4 points if made with skim milk (sans elaboration of marshmallows)

What if you made it with Splenda? Would that decrease the point value even more? I thought about trying it that way, but I haven't made it again.

OK, here's a photo for the evening (before I check-out for a while)

Tallulah Behind Bars
(I'm surprised she isn't rattling a tin cup across the bars)

Don't worry, sweetie. Aunt Cheri won't mistreat you like that!;)

Love these photos. What do you suppose the baggage charge would be for THAT suitcase?

.

That looks like my suitcase from my diving trip last August. Did I tell you I almost had to pay $100 for it? Luckily the skycap let me shift some stuff around and I got it down to $50.

I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's photos--the pork chops, the art work, all the kids' pictures, even "hisselfness"!;) If I left anyone out, please forgive me. I was going to scan some of my kid and high school pictures but then my computer crashed...called today, they still haven't started on it. grrrrr
Let it go, Cheri...let it go....

The wind is really howling tonight and it's supposed to rain. It's all that rain you guys had today, Gayleen. I've built my first fire of the season and feel very cozy.

I got a phone call tonight from a college friend. Bless her heart, she's kept in touch with me all these years. She's from Montana, but she & her husband are in the valley for a month to escape the winter. I'm going to get together with her in a couple of weeks. Around the same time I'll be going to see a high school friend down in southern AZ (Green Valley) for a couple of days. In about a week I'll be going down to Phx for a 4 day conference of the International Reading Association. I get to stay with some of my former colleagues who are getting rooms right near the convention center. Looking forward to seeing my friends and hearing what's up and coming in the field.

Monica, when I read your post about owning Disney stock it inspired me! I'm now a stock holder, too! I've always wanted to own a little piece of Disney. I can't wait to get my stock certificate! Maybe next I'll buy some Apple. I've heard you should own stock in the things you believe in.:worship:

   to all my friends. I'm like Deb, I'm reading even if I'm not posting.

BTW, there was a very cute article about a woman who celebrated her 100th birthday at DL last Friday. Not only did she make it to 100, she is a Titanic survivor. She was supposed to have traveled on the Titanic, but her family got bumped at the last minute! They pulled out all the stops for her!

I can hear raindrops! Nighty night!

I will go and see if I can get the butt back...

Just for you... :goodvibes

It is raining so hard :sad2: Brooke split the only pants she will wear :sad2: Why did my mom wish a horrible kid on me? I will never do that to Brooke. My mom said to me that she wished I had a horrible child just like me and I tell Brooke that I wish she never has to deal with a horrible child like her ;) It's a little better, right????? It takes so long in the morning now and I can't handle it now that I actually have to get dressed myself :scared:

Cool story about the Titanic survivor. I bet that family was happy ;)

Wow, I get one night on the computer and no one is around. I'm going to read old posts and remember the good times :sad1:

I just found this quote from right before the cruise

"She is right down the hall from me Ding Dong Ditch everyone on floor 6."

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I think that was referring to Marilyn :sad1:
