This Shocked Me. It was new to me. A sculpture of American Gothic (Which is hanging in the Art Institute, our art museum)

WOW! I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE SO BIG!!!!

A few years ago we went to Cedar Rapids Iowa for a wedding. They were doing "American Gothic" sculptures all over town (remember the Chicago Cow exibit?) Same thing, only with American Gothic full sized sculptures all over downtown Cedar Rapids, all done up in SO Many types of outfits and paint jobs!

I had a great time in MD this weekend. It was a bit stressfull as there were lots of people around - David's family - both Saturday & Sunday.

Enjoyed spending the time w/ Ian & Sydney - Lisa was not feeling well, so we didn't get to spend too much quality time together.

Downloading pics now - we had her party on Saturday but her birthday is actually today....can't believe she's now 2. :cutie:

MONICA.....I've come up with a scam...uh I mean plan....for a June 2010 trip to the UK......and a cruise.......check the Tortola thread.....oh, and buy a lottery tickey.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

LOL - I'll go check it out.

We'll have to see what they have to offer once on board & then we'll talk.

Lovely pictures Gaylean. You have gorgeous children.

You look to have lost a lot of weight, Jon looks great in uniform, and that snog is impressive!!!

Well truthfully I probably weigh about as much as her shoe :lmao: :lmao: I had to scroll back to see which picture of myself I had put in :lmao: :lmao: And why was I snogging!!!! I was in a few but they were all blurry. It was a bad picture day for us.

His Selfness and I went for a walk about town this afternoon. It's funny, because I work down in the Loop, but basically only walk from the bus to the office and the office to the train.

It was sunny and about 35F today. I also tried out geotagging photos.

Here are a couple I took today.

Interesting that we both saw huge sculptures.

JACKIE--

Just found what you posted on the "main" thread...

Man....I don't cruise until September. Wonder how long this offer will last? I just might have to talk my Florida pal Monica into jumping on a three day with residents discount and have her book us a stateroom on the 7 day Barcelona/Dover run. Wonder how much I'd have to bribe her? Wonder if I can actually afford the airfare for TWO trips to Spain in the same year?

:rotfl: :scratchin

wow... it must have been warm... Sukie's almost in shorts...

& you know... they look alot shorter in the picture...

Love these photos. What do you suppose the baggage charge would be for THAT suitcase?

.

But Sukie wouldn't have to get a ticket cause he fits inside...

I know...I've been scratching my chin all day! Where do I think I'm getting the $$ to TWO big vacations in the same year anyway. :confused3 But that cruise did just squeeze into my $200 per day rule. :lmao:

WOW, that's so huge! How cool! :goodvibes

Great pictures Gaylean! Glad you all had fun, sounds like a nice weekend! :goodvibes

Great pictures Monica, I can't believe how much Sydney has grown!

Well, that's all for me folks. I have a TV stand to put together. Well, I guess the box says it's called a "console". Whatever. I had a hard time finding something I like. It's cherry wood and very, very heavy. I think the box says it's 140 pounds. 2 Wal-mart workers managed to find a way to squeeze it into my car, and I had an awful time getting it into the house. Having a hard time figuring out the first step in the instruction book. :rotfl2: I'm usually really good at assembling these things, but this looks harder than anything I've ever done. So I think I'll at least try to start it tonight. :thumbsup2 Then to bed early tonight. Tomorrow is going to suck at work. I'll have to work for the 82 year old guy I used to work for because his secretary is off tomorrow and the next day. :headache:

Sydney is so big. She must have loved having her auntie there to visit.

and nice art Ian & Gay

Holly... make sure that the stand is really put together very well before you put the TV on top of it... you wouldn't want the TV to go flying off of it...

Good luck!!! :thumbsup2
