:thumbsup2: GREAT IDEA to read Tyler books about new babies!! :goodvibes: you are such a great Mom !!

Can you take him to the infant nursery at church or the homes of friends with new babies? That would be even more "real time" exposure to reality.

Can you ASK at the next Psychiatrist appointment whether family history could possibly make a difference--real innocently. ;). And if he says yes, look at Tyler's Dad and say "what about your sisters?". Still really innocently
?????

 God has blessed Tyler with YOU ::yes::

We don't know anybody with babies, but he used to be around them at day care before kindergarten, but that's just not the same as being in close proximity to one all the time. However, he can always go play in the basement. His dad has a finished basement where they build projects and play and watch videos, so that could be a good getaway place for him.

Just let you know that I had 4 wisdom teeth out and turn out that I was unlucky....

When I woke up and see everybody feel sorry for me then I realised that I had huge black and blue above cheek and below cheek... I cannot ate and hospital refused to send me home *** that time I live on my own....

My good friend mum had take me home and I was really ill and very painful...

Off work for two weeks, when I went back to work, work thought i got assulted... as it was not... as it was from densist hospital and they were told me that they cannot take one tooth out and had to lean on my chest...

that why my chest was so painful....

My brother and friend walk past and didnt realised it was me with swollen face....

Glad that it was one off...

Oh my gosh, that has to be the worst wisdom teeth story I've ever heard! Yikes! I'll bet you're glad that was long ago! :scared1:

Oh my gosh, they look so cute on that cake! How wonderful! I'd love to have a man surprise me like that. :lovestruc

They are so much better and getting more so everyday. The swelling is going down so there is way less leaking and the infections in each of them are drying up and getting smaller. YEAH!!!! Circulation is a very important thing I guess. The flatter I am, the easier it is to get the circulation to the lower extremities....the more the legs are healing. I'm happy it's working.

This is great news Deb! I'm sure this is very hard, but keep up the good work, it's working!

Holly--Does Chuck EVER take Tyler on vacation?

That would be an enlightening experience for them to have him in public for a week without you........

They took him to Florida once when he was 3 and stayed with Tyler's grandpa. A couple weekend camping trips, but that's it. His job supposedly won't allow him to take time off. He told me a few days ago, "That's why I make the big bucks". Oh give me a break, jerk.

Hi Nan... welcome home... good weekend with the girls?

thanks, it was very relaxing. We went to the beach this time and sat in the hot tub again. I'm headed back there again end of the month with my mom, sisters (yes all 3 of them suprisingly) and my cousin is flying down from Redding. Then on Sat night of that weekend the rest of the family is coming over for dinner and cake for my bday.

I really love the place...so calm.

It looks pretty good. The key is whether you want videos for a TV or for watching on the computer, posting etc. I'm not so sure that I care about a TV that much anymore, as I can also stream from my Mac to the TV via the Playstation 3.

It got pretty good reviews on Amazon, and has 4 stars based on 79 reviews.

The price is much cheaper than Best Buy, free shipping and I assume no sales tax for Michiganders just like for us Illinoisans.

Cool, thanks Ian! My primary purpose would be sharing via computer with family, so it should be just fine for me. Funny, after I posted that, I meant to add, "Ian, what do you think?" You read my mind! :thumbsup2 I appreciate the lower price link, thanks! I won't be buying until next month though, but will check around at that time for the lowest price. :goodvibes

Hello everyone.

Just checking in. Shannon is busy studying and I am being pretty lazy. Watching VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs and playing on the comp.

Meanwhile the girls are busy playing with Lego.

And with playing on the computer a friend mentioned Twitter to me and so of course I had to go and check it out. So now I have a Twitter page as well. As if there aren't enough social networking sites out there. Anyone else on Twitter??

NO! I can't even remember to check myspace and facebook. Can't handle any more sites. :rotfl2:

This is John as a baby in Lido Beach on Long Island. When I was a baby I lived in Long Beach, the next town over. We were near each other in life even back then.

This is John's dad when John was a kid. His dad was a Nassau County Police Officer on Long Island.

I agree with you, Just how many sites and how much connecting is enough. I think it's way over the top.

And to think.. it was so easy to reach out and touch someone... ;)

Holly, another thing to think about is that Tyler needs to have his own way and time and place to talk to his dad. If this is a cell phone for that purpose, I'd suggest that this isn't a battle worth fighting. He should be able to talk to either of you when ever he wants, just like he would if you lived in the same house, ya know??? Also, it's not bad for him to talk to his dad with out you in the middle of it, or vice versa. A child needs to establish their own boundaries of trust with their parents and if we don't give them room sometimes it back fires....just my thoughts....

Also, Willie's race was called on rain :sad2:
Oh he does talk on the phone to his dad lots. His dad says he misses him too much after a day or 2 to go without talking to him, so he usually calls twice and sometimes comes over once on the days Tyler's with me. When I see it's him calling, I just have Tyler answer the phone. And when he's old enough to be able to figure out how to dial, he can do that whenever he wants too and can just go in the other room if he feels the need, but for now he just has me dial his dad and I hand him the phone and go do something in the other room. It works.

Holly - how was the show?

Bad story there. I made sure I printed directions to the Pontiac Silverdome Friday at work, made sure I had the directions and tickets in the car, yesterday I checked the time of the show again because I often get the time wrong, 2:00 show, no problem. We had time to come home after church and have lunch, then hit the highway. Tyler fell asleep about 5 minutes into the hour and a half drive, and woke up about 20 minutes before we got there.

We can see the top of the Silverdome for a while before we get off the highway, so we both get excited the closer we get. Then as we approached, I wondered why there was no traffic, then as we drove past the empty parking lots, and then saw the locked gates, I had to pull over to pull out my ticket and find out what was going on. Turns out it was a 1pm show at the Palace of Auburn Hills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the 3rd time I've done this!!!! Once was for a Spartan's football game 2 years ago, and I can't remember what the other time was. :sad2: I felt horrible because we were both so excited. There goes $113 front row tickets down the drain. :headache:

Fortunately, I'd pointed out a giant mall to Tyler as we drove past on the highway, the Great Lakes Crossings Mall, so I after I told him about the horrible mistake I'd made, I assured him I'd see if I can buy tickets for next week's show and that we could go to that mall and try to eat at Rainforest Cafe. He said, "I can't believe we drove all this way for nothing." :guilty: But as soon as we walked into Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, and he realized he was in camouflage heaven, all was fine. :rotfl:

We spent about an hour in that giant store, having fun trying to see how many animals we could find, took a few pictures, did some target shooting, shopped, stood on the bridge and watched the ducks in the river, watched the fish in the giant aquariums, etc. It's really a cool store, I went to one in Texas with my ex-husband once, so I knew Tyler would love it. I ended up buying him a toy camouflage hunting rifle. $31 made a happy kid.

Then we were walking through the mall to see what else we could find and found Ridemakerz: www.ridemakerz.com. I know I shared the link a few months ago and have been meaning to take him. I had no idea it was there, so we were pleasantly surprised! It's the same idea as Build-A-Bear, but with a car or truck. He chose a truck, made it into a monster truck, picked gold rims, a grill for the front, and jet engines on the sides. :rotfl2: $43 later, he was a SUPER happy kid!

We were going to eat at Rainforest, but it was a 2 hour wait. Um.....no thanks! So we just looked around the store for quite a while, but didn't see anything we wanted to buy.

And we stopped for KFC on the way home because I was pooped! ;) So a crappy mistake ended up being a fun day and Tyler got a bit spoiled! After he got his pajamas on tonight, he climbed on the couch next to me while I checked for tickets for another date to see Disney on Ice. Bad news, it was only there this weekend. Next time it comes to Detroit is early October. It's a different show, I think it's called 100 years of Disney or something like that, but we're OK with that. I told Tyler I'm so sorry about the mistake and he put his arm around me, leaned his head on my shoulder, and told me, "It's OK, you're still the best mom in the world." Damn kid almost made me cry! ;) I told him I'm lucky to have a kid like him because some kids would throw a fit and scream and cry over missing the show.

Wow everybody, I'm sorry for the ultra long post. I was just typing away like the wind and didn't even realize how long it was until I saw it posted! :guilty: It turned out to be a great day though. It was super cold, but very sunny all day. Nice to see the sun! All the snow is gone, so there's yucky brown dead grass everywhere you look, so the sun helps it not be so ugly.

Oh, Deb, I loved ALL the pics you posted! I really loved the ones of your mom when she was young....she looked so glamorous! :goodvibes

I'm so mad! This is the 2nd Sunday in a row with NO Desperate Housewives. I wonder what the deal is.

I forgot that I have a couple short video clips from the rodeo last week, but I'm having trouble uploading them to photobucket again. It seems to only like me uploading pictures now. Oh well, here's what happened to Tyler on before we even got out of the parking lot after the rodeo:
