They also say there is a really fine line between intelligence and insanity :rotfl2:

I like to walk that line every day, sometimes I do it with my imaginary friends....

The Magic Watch

OK, I thought, while I'm sitting here eating lunch, I'd share something with all of you.

Ever since I started working, I have always worn a character watch.

One day, I decided that work was awful and things weren't going right in my life. In short, I wasn't having a good time. So, I decided to get a new watch, because then I might start having a better time.

Ever since then (about 20 years ago), if I wasn't having a good time, I've bought a new character watch. I really have to be at the point where I am fed up and at my wit's end, meaning, changing my watch is not something I take lightly.

About 2 weeks ago, Thursday, the strap on my watch broke. I had to wear a new watch. It was a Roger Rabbit 20th anniversary watch I bought in Disneyland when we got married.

The day after, my boss met with me to "feel me out" about the job change. Then on Monday, after that (now wearing the new watch for 4 days) my role was changed.

I know this is just a coincidence, but it is a bit spooky all the same.

So, my advice is, if you're not having a good time with your life ... get a new watch.

You are so silly.

Do you recall that I admired your watch while we waited away the time together for Toy Story??? We it made such an impression on me (the watch lover that I am) that I decided to indungle myself with such watch. I looked it at often on the Disney website but waited until that last moment to place my order...I got the watch at a steal of a price as an Xmas gift to myself. It came...it was the wrong watch!!!! It was the watch in the ladies size, which while beautiful, was so darn small that I couldn't read it  The quest for the readable watch continued....I chose to wear my two places at once watch (mickey on the bottom and steamboat willie on the top, perfect for travelling in time, or to another time zone. A prior Xmas gift to myself from our first cruise 2005) I wore such watch on this trip, but darn it, couldn't see the numbers to know what time it was...THEN the unthinkable the battery died!!!! I had to get a new watch. We searched high and low for the perfect fit. Ended on a digital mickey one. Not my first choice, but what I could see. I couldn't set the time myself, fortunately a DISers teenage son did it for me while we were cruising. Just you think this story should end. NOPE...there is more. While travelling to China with my mom in the summer of 2006, she and my sister scammpered off to the SWATCH store at the Beijing airport, mom comes back with THE WATCH!!! Easy to read, colored in many stripes, perfect for any outfit. (except formal, of course because time stands still when those around you are in tuxes)Since that purchase my mother and I have an on going tease about her giving me that watch. She tells me she can have it when she is dead. I threaten to steal it. And so on. Of course going to the mall and getting the same watch would be no fun for me. I've even been and tried it on, but I have told myself I have to wait for my moms, that will be what I inherit from her hopefully many years from now. Back to the story...while waiting for our flight out of MCO Paul wandered with the kids and came back, Willie and I then wandered off, she said to me, "how do you like your watch?" "what watch?" I reply...oops cat outta the bag. We make it back and unveiled Paul and the kids (molly spotted it I hear) got me the same SWATCH as my mom. I put it on and ever since when my mother sees it, she freaks out (you know she has lost her sense of memory) she thinks I stole her watch!!!!

All that to tell you I have a new timepiece too. And I love it. And it is special for sooooooo many reasons. For me a watch is a quest. Much like a holy grail. When you find the right one, such satisfaction.:p

I am back on page 214--life is getting in the way of DISing.

Waiting at the home of a client who is not here-- I have to give them 15 minutes....

So, I don't know if anyone said it, but,

DEB--do you have a Blackberry? Can you get one?

You could DIS while lying down with a Blackberry and it is lighter than a book to hold. Besides that, we are more interesting than TV and you would have friends to chat with 24/7.
??

Morning Michelle.

You were born with that gorgeous smile Michelle.princess:

Perhaps Ken could remove the strangers for you.

I came out smiling... (I tell that to everyone... )

& I'd adopt those people, but then again I'd have to take them on vacation with me and well, mom would get jealous...

Michelle you always smile just like me lol

Scottishwee35

Both radiant!!!

True

dollars start creep up... finger cross but I don't think it will go up to 2.00 as it will be long times to get it...

we wait and see until this year and see if we can afford it ....

Scottishwee35

Sorry guys... what's bad for you is good for me... but I still think they are going to have to offer something...

Hey! I have air conditioning too, and a pool! (OK, the pool is called Lake Michigan)

I have a small stream nearby... it's called the Erie Canal... and it's frozen right now... planning on ice jams... :guilty:

They're doing a bait and switch here! Yesterday, the news was that it was going to be 51F on Saturday, now they say it's only going to be 47F.

However THIS morning, it's -1F and going up to 30F.

This actually causes me a major problem, because I have to dress for the temperature when I'm waiting for the bus in the morning and the walk to work (including a walk across the Chicago River).

I know I'm going to be roasting later on the way home.

May I suggest packing a pair of shorts?

Eastwood Manor

This charming Chicago 2-flat is located in the heart of Chicago's sophiticated and hip Lincoln Square neighborhood (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Square,_Chicago http://www.chicago.com/neighborhoods/Ravenswood/).

Conveniently located near boutique shopping, bookstores, cafes, bars, cinemas and restaurants. In addition, ample public transportation via the Number 11 Lincoln Avenue Bus, or the Brown Line Elevated Railway are just steps away.

During your stay, enjoy the diverse dining options, ranging from the casual to the up-market. Enjoy a movie, or take in a concert at the Old Town School of Music.

When staying at Eastwood Manor, Chicago is yours to enjoy, and all just steps from your doorstep.

Do you offer a AAA discount?

Someone sent this to me!!!

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

Sounds like a few attorneys I know...

Ok - what are the dates again for this cruise??? I MAY consider it ;) Would have to see which deal is the more appealling :lmao: (I haven't been to either city so equal ground there)

April 10th to the 25th... Call DCL and book...

Yeah, and he will be going alone. I'm not a tupperware party type person.:lmao:

Mary Kay??? Does Bubba like pink cars?

::yes:: I do still hold the record. Pulled a giant Alpers trout out of Gull Lake.
thanks for remembering baby, even though I don't let you forget it.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Is it stuffed on the wall or was it dinner?

Nothing like starting off the day with laughter!

Marilyn - those attorney/witness statements were :lmao: :rotfl2:

V - loved the pics (& the last comment about how Bubba would be doing the Tupperware party alone) :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day so for....mine is good so far (of course even tho I'm sitting at my desk at work, my work day doesn't start for another 10 minutes....day will probably go down hill from then on :lmao: )

Hey Mon... you can go home now... I give you Queenly permission and I know that Nan will concur...

Great pics Michelle.

and I think you have to show us what Mom did to your hair. After all I showed you guys my mohawk.:rotfl2:

I have to look for the picture...mom used to have it up on her mirror by her dresser, but I have to ask where she put it... (and she cut my hair which explains alot...)

Oh Ian, you have no idea how much I would love to answer this ad. But if I could get 2 straight weeks off again I would be on the cruise with you guys.

Chicago is really the only BIG city outside my home state that I would like to visit.

V... Sept 12th... Tortola... think about it... I am... :goodvibes

I wanted to share a bit of disney trivia with ya all.

Peter Pan was released February 5th 1953.

Happy Anniversary to the Pan and his Tinker bell.

I have a daily Disney calendar on my desk:thumbsup2

& the Pixie dust begins!!! pixiedust:

ok, I need this weather to warm up, that is why I am staying SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Now the girls are all sniffles...bet John gets it too! Yuck!

My mom is trying to convince us to come up to her house this weekend so we can celebrate Haley's birthday, I am not all that inclined but wouldn't have to clean house!

how do you people stay warm?

V...you are sick because of all of the crazy temps... we get sick but it's different because we get the cold and germs from staying inside all day with everyone who should have stayed home and been sick instead of going to work. OUR germs die because it gets cold... yours have a semi nice warm place to take up residence - we did send you a frost to try and zap a few of them, but I'm afraid that in your case, the package was delayed a bit... sorry... :upsidedow

Jillian Michaels is evil. My legs aren't working today. :rotfl2: Nothing hurts, my whole body is just stiff and my legs are like spaghetti. :rotfl:

Keep going... soon they will be linguini...

Time flies, you know... I have my eyes on a dress watch that I should have grabbed at DL but I'm sure that it will be long gone by the time I get back... They DID bring back my favorite Minnie watch (I do believe that lots of us complained until they brought it back...)

I like to walk that line every day, sometimes I do it with my imaginary friends....

Do you make them walk the line before or after the rum... cause they could be in trouble... :rotfl:

That's a good idea Jan.

Sorry, but Deb's lying down right now - we will forward your suggestion to her when she is allowed to get up... around midnight I hear...

Michelle, are yoiu down in orlando in April/May? You said you would know by now.

Still waiting... banks you know... will let you know asap because I do have an idea for a nice night out... ::yes::

Jumping online for my coffee break, but I can't get all the way caught up. I fell asleep watching the first hour of LOST last night. Luckily it was just last weeks recap, and then I watched the new one curled up in bed, and then I went straight to sleep, until Kaleigh woke up from a nightmare. She was dreaming that 2 boys from daycare kept putting stickers on her, and she didn't want them to. :confused3 That's her first really vivid nightmare.

Jackie / Holly - were you happy to see Jin again? I'm really looking forward to seeing the confrontatin between Sun and Ben next week.

Hi everybody!

I can't keep up but just wanted to say that the Repo cruise was so great! It is hard to believe that in a little over three months it will have been a year since the cruise. I have fond memories and I am booked on the first northern capitals cruise (with a couple of repo'ers too!). But it would be hard to beat the repo.

I bet alot of you feel the same.

And now I must get back to work and I'll try to get caught up tonight. I must exercise tonight. I weigh in tomorrow and I don't think it will be too nice. Not enough exercise this week and too much pop last weekend.

I still hate Jillian Michaels. Now I'm completely soaked in sweat and have to shower before supper. But I still did it (barely), spaghetti legs and all! :thumbsup2

She's a trainer on a weight loss show called the Biggest Loser. She pushes people hard to get the hardest workout imaginable.

And I don't like her much right now. ;)

but you did it 2 days in a row Great JOB!!!

Thanks! :cool1: I'm going to try to do it everyday, if possible. Sort of like my own personal boot camp I guess. I've even told my co-workers who I often join on Fridays after work for dinner and a drink to let me know by Thursday if they want to go out after work on Friday, that way I can plan on getting up early and doing the workout BEFORE work. :thumbsup2

OH MY GOSH, SURVIVOR STARTS NEXT THURSDAY!!!!
I hope I don't forget.
