Today didn't go as well as I hoped. I had a test that didn't go well . And it looks like as of now I won't be working at the Disney Store. The lady was very nice and liked me alot but they don't want to work with my limited school availibilty. Also I would be giving up alot leaving Target. I currently have retirement, vacations hours, and medical as a Part Time employ. Disney Store offers none of that at part time. I really can't work full-time, go to school, and do house stuff, and have some me time. SHe said they would call me again soon, but at this point I am going to have to say no. Oh well at least I tried, now on to the next thing. I am going to apply to be a Disney College Program rep at UT! I really want to do this and have for over a year (You have to go to UT). I go to UT on Monday and hope to find out more about it. I start UT in Aug. My day ended great though. My mom gave DH and I $$ to go by fireworks and then DH took me to my favorite restaurant.

And now....the REST of the story!

A 70-year-old from Muzaffarnagar, India, became the world's oldest woman to give birth after she delivered twins Friday. Omkari Panwar, the wife of a retired farmer, delivered the twins — a boy and girl — via Caesarean section. Panwar, who has two adult daughters and five grandchildren, underwent in-vitro fertility treatment so she could produce a male heir. Her husband, Charan Singh Panwar, 77, mortgaged his land, sold his buffalos, spent his life savings and took out a credit card loan to finance the treatment. "At last we have a son and heir," he said. "We prayed to God, went to saints and visited religious places to pray for an heir." "We kept no stone unturned and God has rewarded us. The treatment cost me a fortune but the birth of a son makes it all worthwhile. I can die a happy man and a proud father."

Oh no, not the buffalos!

Sorry, that just made me laugh. Might just be the beer though. :rotfl2:

These are from the shore of my sister and I. They took pics of us on the boat but we haven't gotten the put on a disk yet.

Hi Lisa!!!  How is your mom?

Hey! I know that guy!!!;)

Looks like you're all having a great time!

My mom is not too good....she keeps getting mixed up and saying crazy things. I lose my patience sometimes and I get ashamed....the other day she went on and on calling my kids lazy....(the last thing they are is lazy) ... i lost my temper and I am still angry.

She still talks really badly about Vanessa....and it makes me sad.

Isn't Daniel cute!! He is bringing 8 friends (6 boys and 2 girls) to the beach house on Wednesday. His dad is coming as well. Don will come home on Friday morning (Frank is having more surgury that day) and I am going going down....just to stressful for me to leave 8 teenagers in our house without supervision......

Oh, Jill  , sorry to hear the Disney store won't work out for you. But aren't you glad you tried? :thumbsup2 Great job getting the interview! But you do need to do what's best for you, so it sounds like Target has what you need right now. :goodvibes

Congrats on starting UT this fall, I had no idea! A friend of mine graduated from there long, long ago. She played volleyball. Go Lady Vols!

The Disney College Program rep sounds perfect for you!

Great pics! That's very fun! :goodvibes But I've never seen it set up for 2 people to do at once. Way cool!

I'm so sorry about your mom.

I hope Frank's surgery goes well.

Well, it really is time for bed...almost the 4th of july here......7 more minutes.

I often look at the clock and then I think what time it is no Oslo (almost 6am now) and then I think what Vanessa might be doing....no holiday there!!

So they took your pictures on the boat for only $20 but it was film. I had to jump off the boat into the water, swim and keep my sister (who couldn't touch and is scared of the ocean) afloat, while not getting the film wet. I did it too . Thats while my hand is in the air.

Oh, I didn't realize Vanessa is from Oslo! I knew Norway, of course, but not Oslo. When I was 17, I met a boy from Oslo named Kristian Berg (we met at a club in London) and we wrote each other for a year and even called each other a few times. He used to send me cool little souvineer type things from Norway. Then he joined the Norwegian navy I think, and his letters came less often because he would be out on a submarine for long periods of time. Then the letters suddenly stopped. I was so sad for a long time and have always wondered what happened to him. I tried to call and ask his mom about him, but nobody in his house spoke English, so that didn't go well. :guilty:

OK.....I'm rambling. It's definitely time for me to head to bed too.

I felt ok when I left since I at least tried. I am very exciteed about UT! I go to orientation and get my classes Monday.

Great pics! That's very fun! :goodvibes But I've never seen it set up for 2 people to do at once. Way cool!

This looks like so much fun!!
It was amazing! It could hold upto threee people across. My sister is too little to go along. This was a present form my step-dad b/c of my dad. He wanted me to have good memories of our vacation. It was fun but I got thrown off the ladder getting on the boat it was so rough. The guy who was going up helped me back over and onto the boat.:lmao: I was laughing and we had a rough ride on the boat, we came out of our seats and waves came over the boat. It was something we will never forget.

YIKES! That's absolutely nuts. :guilty:

OK

in response to the 70 yr old having twins......not that I want kids at 70 but HEY.....I am excited to know all things can be working then!!!!! I though thtat is when we got June Cleaver beds!

OMG they must be searching for a fugitive.......the helicopters are ALLLLLL over unless a boat wrecked or something.

HI!!!

Sorry for the delay--had to go to lunch.

Any news on that piece of property??

I have been wondering that too? What's the news?

Yeah, I want to know too! :goodvibes

And I also am still wondering about V's hand/arm. The red line making it's way up her arm didn't sound good. She never came back to tell us what it was.

Still waiting on the financing...:headache: Last Saturday I got a call from the realtor that they were showing it to another couple, but I had planned thunderstorms all day that day and they couldn't look at it...:rotfl: I got a call on my cell from the Realtor's office but she left no message... I think she was just trying to check up with me. I do believe that she thinks I'm overseas on business and hasn't called - and I'm sort of afraid of running into her at the parade on Saturday:scared: I checked the website and there is nothing noted as of last night as far as contract or something so I think it's ok for now. I should hear soon about it all - but if it doesn't go through for that one, there is one other option that I have - the camp that I have been going to for the last 30 or so years has been owned for the last 5 years by a couple who want to divide it up and sell it off to make money... In this economy it's not going to go anywhere. They first tried to do an association, then Condo it and now they are going to try to Co-op it. The town and the Adirondack Park Agency is against it. They are in big do-do financially so it may come up on the market. It has cabins, efficiencies and what used to be 6 motel units on it. I'd keep the cabins and the motel section (now divided into 2 efficiencies) and take down the other building and build a house there. Keep the rest to rent out to friends and families that I've vacationed with for the 30 years. It just seems so much to me to do. My friend who is helping me said he may just offer them an amount to walk away - which I don't think they would take - even though they need the money - they had dreams of selling the place off and going to the carribean in the winter and summer up there... Dreams I guess.

I also found out that one of the houses at an association that is owned by some of my friends is going up for sale. It's on the wrong end of the lake for me - so I don't know what's up with that. I've never even seen the inside even though I know the owners - they are very closed off and have decided they don't like being with the assoc. even though it's mostly their family...

I guess my best bet would be the property - that way I could build what I want. I want a house/cabin up there that eventually I will live in year round. The camp that I grew up at would require extra work and maintenance - which I can get people to do. I'm just not into running a business.

We've Set the Date

I don't think I have mentioned that Sukie and I have "set the date."

We have booked Thursday, September 4th at 11:00 AM for the license and ceremony.

After our last experience, we decided it would be good to have another day when the government offices are open. Not that anything will go wrong, the whole process is much simpler in California than it was in Ontario.

So, if you Californian folks (or any of you other folks in other states, provinces, countries, counties and shires) would like to make this a meet-up and celebration over the weekend, please PM me.

PS - We are really much more up beat this time. I'm even looking into the possibility of having some sort of wedding cake, though if it's the two of us, it might be more of a cupcake.

Ahem... make that 2 cupcakes!!! :flower3:

Mazel Tov! See California was ment to be! (although I do feel very sad for you both for the hassle you had on the first try). I will check the calendar and PM you both. I might even be able to take a long lunch if you need someone to hold up the chupah :cool1: or sign your katubah

Chat with everyone very soon.

Holly, hang in there and remember some of us have been there too and are available to help you get through this too.

I know I have been MIA for a while, life has been very busy between work and trying to find Dan a work program for when he finishes school in December. I will try to check on the boards as often as I can, but I am always available via my regular e-mail. If anyone wants it, just PM me.

Missing everyone and hoping another long cruise comes up for 2010! I will try to get some photos up or e-mail some out as time permits.

Hey Stranger!!!

Bout time you showed up!!!!

How're the boys??? I've got a few pics for you - PM me your email!!!!

I wish I could go to CA to be a witness for the blessed event, but alas I don't have the time to take off. You know I'll help you celebrate when you are at the World next (plus I'll be in CA in spirit)

Monica... we can all celebrate each time one of us shows up!!! ;)

Steve,

No ketuba this go around. It will just be a humble civil ceremony at the Orange County Old Courthouse in Santa Ana. The ketuba will have to wait until we're back in Chicago --- though I fully intend for us to do so.

Ok.. what's the part about stepping on the glass???? I was gonna make sure I brought the BEST Chinnette!!!:rotfl:

Hi Lisa  I'm glad you're having such a wonderful day! I'm sure you will miss Vanessa for a long while, but it will get easier...and what wonderful memories you have! I bet she will always keep in touch with you and still be a part of your life  Please give Deb and John a hug for me.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!!

Kathe

THANKS KATHE!!!
HOW CRAZY!!! This is on FOXNEWS.COM!!
