My mom is not too good....she keeps getting mixed up and saying crazy things. I lose my patience sometimes and I get ashamed....the other day she went on and on calling my kids lazy....(the last thing they are is lazy) ... i lost my temper and I am still angry. .

Lisa, I dealt with taking care of my elderly father for several years.

You don't have to be ashamed for losing your temper.

We are all human, and we all have our feelings. We are not carved in stone like sainted statues.

My father, from time to time (quite frankly usually) could be quite hurtful.

I told him that even though he was in a bad situation, it did not give him license to be nasty and that I would not allow myself to be spoken to like that. Setting the boundaries seemed to work.

The only time it didn't work so well, was in the hospital and there was an issue with the blood flowing to his brain. He wasn't so much nasty, as bizarre. He told me he was a captive of the Spanish Army and that we owned the land the hospital was built on.

I have to admit that he was loopy, but for a change he wasn't nasty.

Getting back to my original point, you have a right to your feelings and don't have to feel bad or ashamed if boundaries are crossed and you are hurt.

It was amazing! It could hold upto threee people across. My sister is too little to go along. This was a present form my step-dad b/c of my dad. He wanted me to have good memories of our vacation. It was fun but I got thrown off the ladder getting on the boat it was so rough. The guy who was going up helped me back over and onto the boat.:lmao: I was laughing and we had a rough ride on the boat, we came out of our seats and waves came over the boat. It was something we will never forget.
I'm glad you didn't get hurt when you were thrown off! Good grief girl, accidents follow you wherever you go! I think we should call you Calamity Jane! ;)

Are Holly, Marilyn and I the only people awake and about this morning? Where are all of the other lazy bones?

I've been sitting on the front porch with Tallulah and Truman enjoying my coffee and breakfast.

Just about to go jump in the shower (I may even wash while I'm jumping in there) and get ready to go out for the day.

We are going to Brookfield Zoo which is a drive away. Then, this evening, I want to go see Wall*E.

Sukie thinks that it's all too ambitious for one day. He can be such an old f**t sometimes. Why a young 52 year old buck like me wants to shackle himself down with a 56 year old old geezer is beyond me.

Ok, we've compromised, we're going to Lincoln Park Zoo (via El) and then to the movies.

I have been so ABSENT lately...I have missed all of you!!

After Vanessa left, I was just so sad and had trouble geting it all together. My mom was causing some trouble......

But today my kids and husband and I are at the beach house and we are all having a great time. I feel so much better!! We had BBQ Chicken on the grill, baked potatos, and Silver Queen (fresh picked Delaware) corn on the cob!! so YUMMY!!!!

We spent the day on the beach!! (I will post some pictures soon.)

We are expecting Deb and John to come by tomorrow sometime....if nothing else to park in our yard....there is NO parking in this town and on the 4th of July, there are 100,000 people decending on our little tiny town....

   hang in there, Lisa.

Today didn't go as well as I hoped. I had a test that didn't go well . And it looks like as of now I won't be working at the Disney Store. The lady was very nice and liked me alot but they don't want to work with my limited school availibilty. Also I would be giving up alot leaving Target. I currently have retirement, vacations hours, and medical as a Part Time employ. Disney Store offers none of that at part time. I really can't work full-time, go to school, and do house stuff, and have some me time. SHe said they would call me again soon, but at this point I am going to have to say no. Oh well at least I tried, now on to the next thing. I am going to apply to be a Disney College Program rep at UT! I really want to do this and have for over a year (You have to go to UT). I go to UT on Monday and hope to find out more about it. I start UT in Aug. My day ended great though. My mom gave DH and I $$ to go by fireworks and then DH took me to my favorite restaurant.

What is important, Jill, is putting it out there. Over and over and over and over. Keep moving forward.

And now....the REST of the story!

A 70-year-old from Muzaffarnagar, India, became the world's oldest woman to give birth after she delivered twins Friday. Omkari Panwar, the wife of a retired farmer, delivered the twins — a boy and girl — via Caesarean section. Panwar, who has two adult daughters and five grandchildren, underwent in-vitro fertility treatment so she could produce a male heir. Her husband, Charan Singh Panwar, 77, mortgaged his land, sold his buffalos, spent his life savings and took out a credit card loan to finance the treatment. "At last we have a son and heir," he said. "We prayed to God, went to saints and visited religious places to pray for an heir." "We kept no stone unturned and God has rewarded us. The treatment cost me a fortune but the birth of a son makes it all worthwhile. I can die a happy man and a proud father."

This reminds me so much of all the Phillipa Gregory books of that era. :scared1:

Look what I got to do at the Beach:

These are from the shore of my sister and I. They took pics of us on the boat but we haven't gotten the put on a disk yet.

wwwwweeeeeeeeee

OMG they must be searching for a fugitive.......the helicopters are ALLLLLL over unless a boat wrecked or something.

I did a search of Siesta Key trying to find out about the area (we are looking at coastal island real estate for the future. It looks really nice. How close are you to the beach and Sarasota in minutes? Are you close to that Mermaid show place? The real estate seems to be all over the map, some real estate seems about 1/3th of ours here for much bigger lots. How long have you lived there and would you recommend it. Another friend of mine is buying a condo there.

OH CRAP... that means I have to keep taking birth control until that age?????:lmao:

entitled "HAPPY DANCE"

This was lots of fun!

Happy 4th of July

Have fun everyone, we're having a block party with all kinds of fun stuff, bounce house, bubbles, little car rides, surry car rides, and a ton of food. There are massive fire work displays all around us. Huntington Beach boasts the largest display west of the Mississippi... wonder if that's true?

And my girls Venus and Serena made it to the finals and will play each other for the first time in 5 years!!!! Too bad our local girl Lindsay isn't there.

Beautiful day here so we are going for a long walk and hopefully a coffee and cake!!
Marilyn, have a wonderful time!

It's a beautiful day here too! Not a single cloud, and the sky is a strange blue that I've never seen before. It's sort of dark blue and bright blue at the same time. Hard to explain, but beautiful! Perfect weather is predicted for a few days, and the temps are not supposed to get above 77. Not too hot, but warm enough for all summer activities. Perfect! I hope Tyler's dad & stepmom took him to the parade this morning because they never have. It was raining when I took him last year, so this year would be much better. :thumbsup2

Jill, I am so sorry to hear that, because I know you had your heart set on it.

But, for what it's worth, I believe things always turn out for the best. It may not be possible to see that when we are in the middle of it, but afterwards, they seem to.

I know that there were jobs I did not get, and I realized, sometimes a long time later, that had I gotten the job, I would have gone done not the best possible road.

Perhaps the Disney Store was just an illusion and a diversion from your real dreams. Push forward with UT and your real dreams

Ian, I always love reading your words of advice. I always find myself saying, "Oh, yeah, that makes sense". You have such a great perspective on everything. Better watch out......we might all come to you for advice! :goodvibes

:yay: :yay: :cool1: :cool1:    :cheer2:

OOOH! Just watched your latest movie! SO COOL! I am ready to go again!

Oh, YEAH! I AM GOING AGAIN! 4 DAY WONDER ON JULY 20TH!!!!
WHOOPEEEEEE!

Oh, I didn't realize Vanessa is from Oslo! I knew Norway, of course, but not Oslo. When I was 17, I met a boy from Oslo named Kristian Berg (we met at a club in London) and we wrote each other for a year and even called each other a few times. He used to send me cool little souvineer type things from Norway. Then he joined the Norwegian navy I think, and his letters came less often because he would be out on a submarine for long periods of time. Then the letters suddenly stopped. I was so sad for a long time and have always wondered what happened to him. I tried to call and ask his mom about him, but nobody in his house spoke English, so that didn't go well. :guilty:

OK.....I'm rambling. It's definitely time for me to head to bed too.

I can have Vasnessa or her mom try to look him up...they love to help me with anything I ask!!!

Please do wash while you're in there. I can smell you from here.

Enjoy Wall-E! I'm going to see Sex and the City with 3 friends. I've been dying to see it since it came out, just haven't had time.

Have a great time at the zoo too!

That would be very cool! I do know that is the correct spelling of his name, and I'm pretty sure he would have been born in 1968. I used to have more details in his letters, kept all the stuff from him in a box, but my mom threw it out long ago. :sad2: I do have a couple pictures, including one of us on the Tube in London I think. I'll try to remember to take them to work Monday and scan them. Wouldn't that be funny if Vanessa's family knows his family?

I need to bookmark your post and read it each time I want to slap my mom. You give very good advise. Been there Done that people really seem to understand what it is like....Thank you !!

My pastor gave me a book called Boundaries.....I have not read it yet. I am going to do that this week......

But it probably wouldn't work too well because when I google his name there are TONS. However, I haven't tried facebook or myspace because I just hadn't thought about him since I became familiar with those sites. Off to have a look.

We went over 10,000 Coke rewards yesterday!! We videoed it and since so many of you have sent us rewards....I thought you might like to see this!!

Wow! 10,000! That's great! I'll have to watch the video at work on Monday. It tells me I have to download Flashplayer, but when I download it, it still tells me I have to download it. Uggghhh!!! :headache: I hate computers, especially mine!
