There's enough of us that if DCL goes to Alaska, Gaylean and Jon will "tag along", as count Shannon and I in on that group that wants to go!

Have to let you know that I called my sister's house tonight....going through withdrawls already (hehehehe). Ian was at his dad's but Lisa put the phone next to Sydney's ear and I got to talk to her. I was sung to ("e i e i o") and she blew me kisses. My sister also said that she got a big smile on her face when I first started talking to her (and you all know that my heart melted).

Special moments to treasure forever. Thanks for sharing with us. Keep it up please. It makes us all feel warm inside.

:offtopic:

What do people have planned for the 4th of July?

We are talking about seeing the Giants vs Dodgers (boo hiss) at SF and then heading to the USS Hornet based at Alameda for fireworks over the Bay.:thumbsup2

I will be watching the football game on TV and that's about it.

However, this upcoming weekend I have a 5 day weekend because of Canada Day on July 1. I'll watch football on thursday night, Friday night and Saturday and try and squeeze in some yardwork as well. Might take the girls down to the park on July 1st to join in on the festivities there.

I GOT A PACKAGE FROM DCL TODAY!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I got the puzzle! I feel SOOOO much better!
(cue Sally Fields) "They like me! They really, really like me!"

Sure rub it in... We're still waiting. Probably hung up with Canada Post. Yeah that's what I'll go with.

Thanks for that link, Cheri.

I don't think I posted it on the boards (though some people know), that Acoma Kitten didn't make it till I got home from the cruise. She basically just stopped eating and tried to hide in the neighbors yard. After a couple of calls with the vet they agreed to go ahead and release her without waiting for me to get back. I HAD left instructions with the vet that Peg had total authority to do whatever was necessary while I was gone, but they did give her a bit of greif about it. I was so sorry Peg had to deal with that.

She had 18 great years with us. I still expect to see her when I get up from my computer, as she always napped in the craft room under the table while I was DISing.

.

I'd forgotten about that, Deb. Glad it all turned out well! You know, when I went in to get my bags, I started to take one that wasn't mine (but it looked just like mine)--luckily I checked the tag. But I thought at the time how easy it would be for something like that to happen!:scared1:

It taught me a great lesson. From now on all my bags will have silver or bright purple ribbon on them to distinguish them from others that look like them. Apparently many people don't check tags.

Well, I didn't know you could combine layers; it's probably a good thing because I might have done it and then I would have been...in a twist, let's say:lmao: since I've gone back and made changes at least 8-10 times. So far.

Just for future reference, how DO you combine layers? If it's too complicated, don't worry; I'll figure it out sometime.

And please help yourself to the finished picture--it's for everyone! But it's not finished yet. Still some mystery people to identify.

Well the way I merge layers the most often is to hide the layers I don't want merged (clicking on the little eye in the layers palette for those layers and the eye will disappear and the layer won't show up on the main pic) and then go to the "Layer" menu and selecting "Merge Visible". Then all the layers that have the eye showing and are visible will merge. Just becareful - sometimes it may ask to discard hidden layers and you don't want to do that.

I should be packing for my trip to NC - I work all day tomorrow and fly out 10:35pm tomorrow night) but I thought I would post a few pics first of a couple items I made for swaps.

Do you know her name? I assume his name is "Mike"...?:rotfl:

I feel really bad. I spoke to Mike and his wife quite abit, but right now at 11:30 at night I can't remember her name. Is it in the mini-nav? I'm not at home right now so I can't look.

How beautiful and creative your work is Lisa. That is one thing I can't even try to attempt to do. Yours is so very beautiful.

Thanks - I probably wont' be on-line much while I'm in NC as both my parents and sister still have dial-up! Plus my 6 year old niece has plans for me to play Hannah Montana and HSM on Wii!!!

Thanks Deb! the secret is a machine called a Cricut. It cuts out the pieces and I glue them together. I can pick what size and everything. I love it!!

Gaylean!! Are you coming up here for Canada Day????

I ask because the forecast is for us to reach a high of 96*F!!! (It will drop to 57* at night however!) You won't need any winter clothes to come visit us! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But seriously, that is going to be quite warm for us. I don't think I'll be doing that much yard work on June 30 and July 1 (June 30 is supposed to get to 93*F).

It sounds great.....have lots of fun! When are you coming back?

My DD6 LOVES Hannah Montana on the Wii. She already beat the game in one weekend, but still wants to play it more. Have't tried HSM yet, but she has eyed it several times in the stores ....

Have fun!

Holly, way back on page 5 you asked for pics of the cakes Shannon made for her nephews' birthdays this past weekend.

Well here they are:

This one is for Myles who was turning 16:

The trucks on the cake had their "engines" light up.

And this one was for Garrett who turned 9 and loves playing football:

This is my Dnephew16 after he got dunked in the horse trough by his dad and I:

It was a pretty good day of friends, family, bbq's, water balloon fights, bocce, croquet and good laughs.

This is a dumb question: why do you want to merge the layers? What's the advantage to doing it (or disadvantage to not doing it)? TIA!!

It probably is, I'm just being lazy. It's in the other room, somewhere in a pile of cruise stuff!:lmao:

Those are very cool! I've seen the Cricut in Michael's and sort of have an idea of what it does. I just love PAPER:goodvibes ! It must be a teacher thing!

Neat cakes! Is the dunking a tradition for milestone birthdays?
