I know the salaries were a lot less but we need a lot more stuff :lmao:

Want, not need!!!;) Now, when I was young.......;) :rotfl:

Then we read books on how to de-clutter.

Woody

::yes:: :laughing:

oh boring i rather spend my time on internet :rolleyes1

I am sad today as my brother's girlfriend dog called kip (collie dog) which is my favourite dog was put down yesterday. he was only 2 half years old, he sleep peaceful now. Not know why as he got illness, cannot walk, cannot hear, got one blind eye. Vet decided to put him sleep  :sad.

Scottishwee35

I can understand why you find Wimbledon boring Deborah. I used to watch it in the days of John McEnroe etc though.

I went into M&S yesterday - good sale. I managed to get a black and white dress for our grandaughter's christening. Now I need some black sandals and some kind of jacket or smart cardi. Seems like they put a red jacket with black and white as well these days, but i have always thought black and white should stay that way.

Sorry to hear about Kip. That is sad.

It really might not still be there. It could all melt away.:(

If it all melts away spme of us might be under water.

Ooooh, I love it! No, I don't remember you posting that last year, but I do remember the paper airplane site you mentioned long ago! That was addicting.....but very fun! :thumbsup2

Let me know if you get a dibber one!!!

I was hoping for a game like that, Marilyn, can't you find us some more time wasters????:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'll try!!:rotfl2:

The exchange group gave her a very stupid fight home with lots and lots of layovers. Dulles to Newark. 5 hour layover. Newark to Frankford. 5 hour layover. Frankford to Olso.

Well United would not let Vanessa board this morning. Long Long sad story....but we ended up getting her on a SAS flight that left at 5pm instead of noon. She gets to Oslo 4 hours sooner. Dulles to Copenhagen. 1 hour layover. Copenhagen to Oslo. Home at 9am....(3am our time) She will be home in less than 6 hours now.....so much better!!

Her best friend and I sent a huge bunch of flowers to be delivered tomorrow. For the next several months, until the swing of school at home gets going again for her, it will be a busy time.

I will miss her, but I am much much better now.

Glad you are feeling better about this Lisa. What a nightmare at the airport.

Thanks for that link, Cheri.

I don't think I posted it on the boards (though some people know), that Acoma Kitten didn't make it till I got home from the cruise. She basically just stopped eating and tried to hide in the neighbors yard. After a couple of calls with the vet they agreed to go ahead and release her without waiting for me to get back. I HAD left instructions with the vet that Peg had total authority to do whatever was necessary while I was gone, but they did give her a bit of greif about it. I was so sorry Peg had to deal with that.

She had 18 great years with us. I still expect to see her when I get up from my computer, as she always napped in the craft room under the table while I was DISing.

.

Oh Jackie, so sorry. After 18 years you will be missing her so much. I feel for you.

Well, They said she should have a paper ticket and we had documents saying she had an e-ticket. So they said we had to go to the problem resolution area and waited about 45 minutes for soemone to help us. When someone finally helped us, they told us they could not help us, that we had to go to Luftansia (sp?) airline as they were the airline that issued the ticket.

We went to Luftansia and they said no....only United could help us. Well at that point I LOST MY TEMPER (thhe flight had already taken off by then) and
I gave a United management a real piece of my mind like I have not done in a long time.

She told me to wait 1 minute and she brought over an agent who said "I am the nice one and I will help you" Well, that was music to my ears.

She got us the awesome flight and we just had to wait till afternoon for her to take off......

Real nightmare.

Grrrr. What a way to treat a foreign young girl. glad you shouted and got it sorted.

huh??? I'm missing the joke? is this because he makes so many movies that come out on 4th of july?

He was in Independence Day.

Not a joke, just a reference to what you said--he's had several movies come out over the 4th.

And on a lighter note:

I GOT A PACKAGE FROM DCL TODAY!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I got the puzzle! I feel SOOOO much better!
(cue Sally Fields) "They like me! They really, really like me!"

They don't love me.:worried:

We will be in PV on the same day as the Magic on her return trip. I have already told Bubba that if I disappear while in PV, that I have gone to see if my KTTW card gets me on. I figure I can always sleep in a deck 4 lounge chair. :rotfl2:

That will be funny seeing the whole experience in PV dock from the other perspective.

Oh I thought it was because he was in the movie Independence Day.

See, great minds think alike!!!:rotfl2:

OK, 2 votes for DVCMike, one retracted vote for Tom...
Does DVCMike have a wife?

Who is the woman between Marilyn & John? (yellow ?)
Who is the guy behind Ann and Albert?
Who are the people behind Kathe?
Are Aaron & Krissann a couple and are those their kids? Names?
Steve's boys? Which is which?

Here's an updated one:
DisPicture-4.jpg

I looked in the mini nav, and there is a family - Disney Rocks, who have 3 daughters. Could this be the family with the baby top left? Sandra, Murray and children. Hubby could be the guy lower down near me and John.

Silly me. I though the sounds from your cabin were your boys playing tug of war.

Woody

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My butt doesn't look any smaller....yet.:confused3

Keep going, it will!!!:rotfl:

Deborah:

Sorry to hear of Kip. :(

That names sounds like a perfect Border Collie name. I must picture him and my Casey (it's her 16th birthday today) running in the fields in heaven after lots of sheep.:( sad, but happy too, they are at peace.

oh no, alway remember her birthday.

Nan and Deborah,

Have you ever seen this: http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html

It's beautiful, but be sure you have tissue handy.

That is so beautiful

Thank you for that Cheri. I've been so sad about her lately. Just looking all over for her face. It's so hard to lose a pet. It feels so empty.:(

Aye, I know

Did I tell you that we will have hearing for the dog (lab dog) soon? As we had been waiting over one year as it take up 18 months to waiting. I think around Autumn that we will get a dog.

I am terrible again, I am lauging when my husband told me that his mum's good friend's car stolen.

Because my father in law was telling me last Friday that she had enough with car and decide to sell it *** she cannot afford it.

Well last Saturday morning, mil and her friend went out to B and Q for garden things and they bought snippers for garden and they went along to Retail Park where I work there. They parked the car at retail park at 12.00 in afternoon, very busy day. They went to one shop then they come out and find that her car was gone!!! Police came and don't understand that. She got the car key!!

How the car went missing? Stolen!! My god.

She cannot claim insurance until the car have to be found:( :furious:

That's bad Deborah!

There was a bit on the news last night about petrol and diesel being stolen too. One lady had her petrol stolen 3 times in a short period.

Farmers are having their diesel stolen, and that should only be used in those types of vehicles, and haulage firms are having to have 24 hour security.

Perhaps when the car thieves run out of fuel it will be dumped and then found. Hopefully not burned out!!!

I remember gas being stolen back in the 1970's during the days of gas rationing.

Just this past weekend I found myself wondering whether that would start up again here.

The Birds

Sukie just now told me that there is an outbreak of attacking blackbirds in Chicago.

I just looked at him. Sometimes, it's hard to tell when he's being serious or ridiculous (considering that he's ridiculous about 75% of the time).

But it's true. He read in on BBC online.

Apparently, the way to ward off the attacking birds is to give them a withering stare or flap your arms and pretend you are a much bigger bird.

We live in Chicago and have heard nothing about this. Fancy having to read a British site to find out what's going on at home. It's about a silly as my having to find out from Nan in California, how much they're asking for the house for sale across the street from us.

Here's a link to the BBC article:

I saw this headline on the Drudge Report, but I didn't click on it. Boy would I feel bad if you got pecked on the head!

Of course Sukie would never get pecked on the head. There would always be an a crowd of admirers surounding him at all times that would throw themselves in harms way! :rotfl:

I feel really bad. I spoke to Mike and his wife quite abit, but right now at 11:30 at night I can't remember her name. Is it in the mini-nav? I'm not at home right now so I can't look.

Was it Alice??

I get a newsletter called "Disney Insider". It has lots of good stuff in it!

Cheri
formerly NotSoLittleMerMAID

thinking of becoming NotSoLittleMerMAN

I get that too and I just read the most recent one yesterday while DISing but I did not see that link. I wonder why? Can you send a link to the page you found it on instead of to the index?

I wonder what other good stuff I have missed.:confused3

Jan :earsgirl:

Good news and bad news.

I've just come accross Jelly Bellies in our local store - right at the check out - so i had to buy a box. It was very expensive.

Bad news - I couldn't leave them alone and ate them all - one at a time to get all the flavours.:rolleyes1

Have to let you know that I called my sister's house tonight....going through withdrawls already (hehehehe). Ian was at his dad's but Lisa put the phone next to Sydney's ear and I got to talk to her. I was sung to ("e i e i o") and she blew me kisses. My sister also said that she got a big smile on her face when I first started talking to her (and you all know that my heart melted).

AWWWW !! so sweet!!::yes::

Just what you needed.
Hang in there with Ian.
Jan :earsgirl:

Oh yes, I wanted to post for Kelly, Holly, Jan and all the other de-clutterers...

I cleaned out my pots & pans, casserole dishes, microwave stuff, cookbooks, flower vases and other assorted dusty stuff that hadn't been touched in years! I have 3 boxes to take to Goodwill tomorrow.

I appreciate your support and good example!:goodvibes

:cool1: WAY TO GO, GIRL!!:thumbsup2

Congrats!! I'm impressed.:yay:

Now, if you are anything like me, the :goodvibes good feelings of having divested yourself of unused items and gotten them to a place where they will be able to help others will inspire you to tackle another cabinet or closet or box from the attic!! ::yes::

Keep us posted!!
