anyone have exciting plans for the 4th? Some genius in upper mgmt at John's co decided they are having a huge sidewalk sale and selling cookout food as well...so he has to WORK all weekend. We are going to a party on Saturday night and will walk down the beach to the fireworks and probably set some of our own off.

What is your listing name on ebay?
Glad to hear you are doing so well!!Jan :earsgirl:

Ourbiggaragesale

Next we are actually having the big garage sale. Can't wait to see if it looks like a lot less stuff in here! :rotfl:

Today is our wedding anniversary. We have officially been married 12 years!

We dated for two years while living in Southern California, then lived together for almost five years while I attended Graduate school (bad I know). So really, in September we have been together for the last 19 years. That's half my life!!

How are we celebrating you ask?? Yep, that's right, we are taking the girls to see High School Musical at the Gammage Auditorium!!

Congratulations. Have a great day.

I just traded my timeshare week in Helen Ga for Saratoga Springs Resort at Disney in April 09. Anybody have any info on SSR?

Just got to say it yet again. I still want to be back on the cruise with all of you.:worried:

YES! We can all say that. Then I said to myself, ya know, the cruise went so fast......I didn't see anyone, I didn't do anything......bla, bla, bla. Then I went back and looked at all my pictures from beginning to end and WOW! I saw a LOT of people and I did a LOT of stuff. When it goes by so quickly, you barely remember it. Lesson for next time......take it slow. Enjoy each moment.....don't rush.

We'll be sad forever. I don't know if I even want to go again. I'm pretty sad!!!

Happy Anniversary

CFL is much cheaper than NFL and more fan friendly. For example most years we go and watch some of training camp. You can wander around watching all the different drills and at the beginning and end and during breaks you can talk to the players and get their autographs. Its all at practice fields so even the stands are only 20 feet from the field. When I first started getting caught up in it, Ken got me a jersey with my favourite players name & # on it. I wore it to training camp. He posed for a picture with me, and signed the back. Eric Carter :lovestruc - great person & great player:cloud9: . Then that season at one game, I got picked ahead of time to go down on the field and participate in a publicity thing. So before kick off, Ken & I were on the sidelines getting ready for the stuff, and Eric Carter saw me and came over to say hi! I loved it! Plus I ended up winning a phone and microwave for throwing a football at a shopping cart :woohoo:

That sounds cool. I would probably like that. Jon always takes me to baseball games but I usually let him go by himself with his friends to the football games because the tickets are so much I don't want to pay for four of them. I'm cheap! Plus the cost would be like a mini vacation!

Well I think this needs photos to go with it.

This is in 2002 at Training Camp in May when she was first getting into it. Here she is with her fave player Eric Carter and a really young Shaelyn: (ignore the date on the photo - i didn't have it set right)

Now here is Shannon going down on the field before the game and Eric Carter seeing her wearing his jersey came running over to say hi and posed for a pic. This was in 2003.

Here is Shannon on the Jumbotron inside the stadium during the promo piece:

And here is Shannon (look for the black #2 jersey) participating in the promo piece during a TV timeout on the field. She was to hit the Safeway shopping cart with a football to win. (Keep in mind our endzones are twice as deep as an NFL field - 20 yards versus 10 - so she is only about halfway into the endzone)

Now let's move ahead a few years to 2007 and back at training camp. Eric Carter has since retired and Shannon now has a new fave player - Javier Glatt. Here she is getting her jersey autographed by him after practice.

Wow, that's cool. The first guy seemed really young to retire.

ME TOO!!! Now if they'd just bring back the Lorna Doone cookies on board...:lovestruc

That must be before my time flying them. During our "poor" years we drove everywhere. LOVE Lorna Doone's. :cool1: Maybe take your own next time? I will try to do so.:thumbsup2

Jan... here's a recipe... it doesn't mention mixing in the peanut butter, but I always do... Everyone seems to like it... just a little even a tablespoon or two... I put them in the paper baking cups for cupcakes and stick them in the freezer until they harden and then I fill them and either put them in the freezer for a few minutes or in the fridge... it's best if they sit in the fridge overnight to set.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Recipe courtesy Todd Wilbur

1 cup peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 (12-ounce) package Hershey's milk chocolate chips

In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter, salt and powdered sugar until firm. Slowly melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. You may also melt them in a microwave oven set on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through the heating time. Grease the muffin tin cups and spoon some chocolate into each cup, filling halfway. With a spoon, draw the chocolate up the edges of each cup until all sides are coated. Cool in the refrigerator until firm. Spread some of the peanut butter onto the chocolate in each cup, leaving room for the final chocolate layer. Cool the cups again to firm up the peanut butter. Pour some chocolate onto the top of each candy and spread it to the edges. Let sit at room temperature, or covered in the refrigerator. Turn out of the pan when firm.

Gonna' print this one out! Not on the diet but might find a:idea: NEED for them some day.....

Has anybody else seen Wall-E yet? Tyler saw it today with his dad & stepmom and loved it, except it did make him sad because the poor little robot was all alone in the world.
But didn't he have friends by the end?

We released the butterflies today. 2 of them flew out pretty quickly, 1 took a bit longer, then 2 of them took about an hour before they finally made their way out. The instruction book that came with the kit says they'll probably hang around the area a few days, but I doubt it because they took off as quickly as possible and didn't stop! We'll still be on the lookout just in case. Would be cool to see them around.
Sounds like it was already really neat.

Well, I need to head to sleep, and have to shut windows first. It's cold. Will be cool tomorrow too. Might be a good time to spray the wasp nests. There are SIX in the windows of the abandoned house next door, right alongside my driveway. Bought some spray today that says to spray at dawn or after dark when they're not very active. I'm still scared to do that because that's a LOT of nests of wasps to piss off!
How did the wasp extermination project go?
