Could you post the link again for the pattern for the neck coolers you made for the Fish Extender gifts? Are they reusable or were they only good for the duration of the cruise and once they dried out they had to be pitched? If they were kept wet would they get moldy?:confused3 :confused3

I am learning more about why I felt yucky, :faint: tired, got swollen ankles and had little appetite on the cruise. It was heat exhaustion. People not used to high temperatures who exert themselves in the heat suffer from it.

HA!! Walking the decks, climbing the stairs, walking at our ports of call, snorkeling, etc. might not be more exercise than I am used to, but it was in temperatures I was not used to.

So, in preparation for my next cruise :boat: I want to have some of those neck coolers made and see if I can find some instant powdered gatoraid to add to water :drinking:to keep my electrolytes in balance because plain water does not replace what we lose when we sweat.

Thanks in advance for the link!

Glad to hear she made it home safely. And doesn't it sound wonderful to live and travel all over europe. Vacation in london and croatia. Here, we're like...going to florida and texas. Just doesn't have the same ring!:rotfl:

Its all relative - to them Florida, Texas, California etc sound cool :)

And London and Croatia might actually be closer to their home than many states we go to are to our homes. When you look at a globe, Europe is pretty small.

The funky shapes are just the cake pan. When making these ones, I realized I don't have a plain regular cakepan. So I had to use the largest flower one for the 16-yr old. Once it was decorated, it didn't look so much like a flower. I love shaped cakepans. I've got 4 layer flower shape, T-shirt shaped, open book shape. They make it fun!

Don't say "just" the pan, the pan can only do so much. The artist is the one who makes it into something special!!

Way to dream! Sounds fantastic - if I win a ridiculously large amount in a lottery, I'll buy a ship and we can all go::yes:: Of course I don't even buy lottery tickets, so its pretty unlikely, but dreaming is fun:lmao:

We don't buy them either, but it sure is fun to dream::yes::

Jan :earsgirl:

thanks - I admit it's pretty tough. I have to log in for quizzes and they are timed so I have to know the stuff and DH has to wrangle the girls. I just want to be more marketable. I would love to do a nursing program so I understood the clinical side of the hospital but time does not allow it, I'd have to quit my job to do it.

Sorry Ian to hear it was a no-go. Hope all goes well in Sept! I went back to WW....fun stuff!! My last weigh in was 4/07, the gal at the desk eyed me and the date.....but welcomed me back!

V, University of Phoenix offers all of these Nursing degrees now. They have become very well known here.

We are headed out for an overnight to Dixon. Wilson has a club race tomorrow. Hopefully no fires and bad air up there. I have to admit I'm a bit concerned. The air here is terrible....gotta get packed up.

Good Luck.

.....I hope you have a lovely 4th July weekend Deb. It is our 39th wedding anniversary on the 5th July and our grandaughter Molly is being Christened so we won't be gpoing away.

Yes Marilyn I am lurking tonight, love the photo.
Albert's screen name is Frodo UK, but he posts even less than me.
You & John were married 3 weeks before us, we celebrate our 39th anniversary on the 26th. Ann

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU :bride::groom:

We celebrate our 39th on August 2!!

We are going to St. Louis to a Musical Theater performance at the Municipal theater there in the 1904 World's Fair Grounds called the MUNI, staying in a hotel and going to a St. Louis Cardinals game Sunday Morning. We may see if we can get to church at the church where our former pastor is now. Not sure if that will work so we did not tell him about it.

Jan :earsgirl:

Just got to say it yet again. I still want to be back on the cruise with all of you.:worried:

YES! We can all say that. Then I said to myself, ya know, the cruise went so fast......I didn't see anyone, I didn't do anything......bla, bla, bla. Then I went back and looked at all my pictures from beginning to end and WOW! I saw a LOT of people and I did a LOT of stuff. When it goes by so quickly, you barely remember it. Lesson for next time......take it slow. Enjoy each moment.....don't rush.

:lmao: :lmao: So, how did the yard look this morning?

ME too!

Glad it's the weekend...I need some time to stare into space and not think 'bout nutin for a while. Then I may segue into a book or a movie....THEN I can move on to bill paying and house cleaning and grocery shopping. Off to make a cup of tea and try to achieve full consciousness.

.

Jackie, you just make me laugh so much!

I did want to say that I'm so sorry for you to come home to the news about acoma kitten. I've been thinking about you and I say you need another new friend coz you'll miss this one way too much. And no one should have to feel that way.

Speaking of which, Tammy......I'm so happy to hear that the family got a new puppy to keep you all busy.......a new bundle of joy to share your love with and unconditionally be loved back. It's all good. But now I want to see some pictures......PLEASE!

Marilyn, congratulations! Welcome to our little Wii Fit family.

I'm envious. It gave my age as 15 years older than I am!
Marilyn, glad to hear you have found the Wii Fit. It has told both of us that our Wii ages are at least 3 to 4 years younger than we are. Doug is in the overweight and I am in the okay range. I should lose about 10 pounds to be where they say I should be though. Doug and I have been trying to go through each of the exercises (from Yoga to Balance) at least once a day. It is a fun way to exercise.

I have not yet done the ski jump or soccer. Though I am having severe fights with the balance bubble.

The ski jump is one of my favorites too although I am getting better at the hoola hoop. Still haven't got the balance bubble or tight rope walking down.

Happy Anniversary Marilyn!
Our 38th is July 30. My mom gave us 2 years and no more - I'm still proving her wrong! She's the type that is very negative about everything, just a mean old lady is what my brother and I say. Never likes anything that I give her. I hope I never become negative like she is.

Ouch!!!

I wish it was possible to snap a photo, but their light is very fleeting.

Not sure if they're going to have another mega sex party tonight outside in our front garden.

I think they are, because when I was out in the garden this afternoon, I found a tiny stack of 45's under a leaf.

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

Very lazy day around here. We've been trying to run errands weeknights and leave our weekends free, so that has been working out nicely.

I was interviewed about Mouse Manager for a podcast this morning.

We did end up going out in the car to do a bit of shopping. I was minding my own business, when some jerk on a bike said to me that he'd bet he gets better milage than I do, as if there was a competition going on.

I said, "Are you in the habit of being in competition with people who don't give a fiddler's &*@k about you?' (I'm known near and far for being such a polite gentleman when I'm behind the wheel of a car).

He was with his girlfriend and I'm afraid I said some other rather choice things that I daren't repeat here, but it did leave him "gob smacked" as our UK friends would say, and Sukie in hysterics.

Then I drove off.

Faster than he could peddle!!!

COOL TIES!!!

Here you go Jan!!!

http://www.p2designs.com/ShipCooler.htm

I use Shultz's water crystals... all you have to do is let the wraps dry out in between if you aren't using them again soon. Otherwise, put them into cold water for about an hour to recharge the crystals. I have used mine for several seasons so far. It's also great to put them in ice water on a hot day. DO NOT FREEZE!!! It does something strange to the crystals - they break down and they don't work again. To freshen them, I just let them soak in fresh water for a few hours and then I don't get any smell or mold. If you are afraid of them getting smelly or moldy, just hang them up and then put them in water about an hour or so before you want to use them. I use a zip lock bag to travel with them and to throw them in my cooler. Take them out and wrinse them when you get home.

ONLY use 1/8 of a tsp in each pocket (I had 4 pockets on each one) and it should plump up to fill the pocket with no problem. If you want to see what the crystals look like before you use them, put a few - very few in a saucer and add water and they will fill with water. Be careful not to get them on the floor - they are slippery and I don't know if they come out of carpeting ok....

Good luck!!!

I have not yet done the ski jump or soccer. Though I am having severe fights with the balance bubble.

I've tried that one once. I kept crashing once I get to the fork in the river. Have to give it a go again. I just got it unlocked the other day.

That's how we are for baseball. Not that we love it but it is a million dollars to go to the Super Bowl. Are you rich or is it different?

CFL is much cheaper than NFL and more fan friendly. For example most years we go and watch some of training camp. You can wander around watching all the different drills and at the beginning and end and during breaks you can talk to the players and get their autographs. Its all at practice fields so even the stands are only 20 feet from the field. When I first started getting caught up in it, Ken got me a jersey with my favourite players name & # on it. I wore it to training camp. He posed for a picture with me, and signed the back. Eric Carter :lovestruc - great person & great player:cloud9: . Then that season at one game, I got picked ahead of time to go down on the field and participate in a publicity thing. So before kick off, Ken & I were on the sidelines getting ready for the stuff, and Eric Carter saw me and came over to say hi! I loved it! Plus I ended up winning a phone and microwave for throwing a football at a shopping cart :woohoo:

We got a Wii Fit today!!

I was pleased to have an age 2 years less than my real age, but John was 13 years younger! I have done 30 mins of exercise - he did 1 min and that was that!:rotfl2:

I don't understand the WiiFit age thing - but first time I did it I came in 16 years older than I am. Best so far is 3 years younger, but it bobs up and down.

Ok Everyone...

Say a prayer...

Cross every finger...

do whatever...

So...if anyone has a good in with God... please let him know I'm a good person and I promise not to cut down any more trees than I absolutely have to... :)

Good luck!

Well I think this needs photos to go with it.

This is in 2002 at Training Camp in May when she was first getting into it. Here she is with her fave player Eric Carter and a really young Shaelyn: (ignore the date on the photo - i didn't have it set right)
120105.jpg

Now here is Shannon going down on the field before the game and Eric Carter seeing her wearing his jersey came running over to say hi and posed for a pic. This was in 2003.

Here is Shannon on the Jumbotron inside the stadium during the promo piece:
212048.jpg

And here is Shannon (look for the black #2 jersey) participating in the promo piece during a TV timeout on the field. She was to hit the Safeway shopping cart with a football to win. (Keep in mind our endzones are twice as deep as an NFL field - 20 yards versus 10 - so she is only about halfway into the endzone)
220733.jpg

Now let's move ahead a few years to 2007 and back at training camp. Eric Carter has since retired and Shannon now has a new fave player - Javier Glatt. Here she is getting her jersey autographed by him after practice.

I make my own PB cups.. not for me, but my brothers love them... take hershey bars and melt them in a double boiler or the microwave... mix in some pb, coat cupcake papers with the chocolate and put in the freezer.. when they are solid, put in the pb and cover with the rest of the chocolate and then put in the fridge... they freeze really well, my brother says...

You have peanut butter mixed with the chocolate to make the shell and lid?

Jan :earsgirl:

Goodmorning all,
Another busy day of selling bike parts, toys, clothes, Disney and DCL stuff on Ebay. I can't believe how much stuff we've donated as well. DH"s bike parts are selling like crazy, stuff we've hauled from house to house for 15 years and never used. I'm not buying anything while selling... I'm being so very good. We've been trying to work on scrapbooks at night, so we're tackling more rubbermaids of stuff at night. Not getting a darn thing done with homework, but I'm squeezing in business in between the decluttering. All the dust has made my skin break out like you can't believe. Can't wait till this project is over... but I'm watching lots of tennis, movies, and the Tour d' France begins next week. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I'd be interested, but can no longer afford the gas!

What is your listing name on ebay?
Glad to hear you are doing so well!!

16 mpg is a lot better than many motorhomes. We hope there is someone out there who will love and use it as it is lonely sitting in the storage lot being loved from 5 miles away and not being used.:rotfl:

Jan :earsgirl:

I discovered something wonderful today! Jelly Belly Belly Flops! They're selling them at Dollar Tree. That's the best $1 I've ever spent! And I'm NOT sharing with Tyler. :rotfl: Seriously!

You know with all the airlines complaining and adding charges and cutting flights... Southwest just announced that they are adding flights out of our airport...

I guess that means they may be able to use another of the 20 gates at Albany??? :lmao:

YAY SOUTHWEST :thumbsup2

Those are my guys!! We fly them whenever we can!

Jan :earsgirl:

You proved them wrong as did we. Why couldn't they believe in our ability to know what we were doing?
