She's not as hooked as me. She likes the results show for the live acts. Last weeks Katy Perry was a big hit. We love that song, so she wouldn't let me delete it so she could go back and play it again and again. Such a bad mom!

I'd never heard that song before it was on there! Earlier that night a couple of my co-workers and I took all our kids to McD's and we were sitting around gabbing and they were talking about that song and how catchy it was and how the lyrics are bad to sing to yourself at work. So I was happy when it was on and I got to hear it. It is catchy and really very innocent by today's standard! Kaleigh thought the cherry chapstick line was hilarious!

:wave2: I miss you guys!! How is everyone doing? I haven't had a chance to catch up....hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday.

I keep trying to check in. We were in Prince George this weekend. The kids stayed at their grandparents and we went to a hotel! :cool1:    We went out for a nice dinner and then to a moviepopcorn:: . We debated between HellBoy 2 or Wanted and I picked Wanted. I wouldn't rush out and buy it, but it was enjoyable. On Sunday we took the girls to Wall-Epopcorn:: . Shaelyn (DD6) enjoyed it. Kaleigh (DD3:cutie: ) had a 30minute snooze near the beginning, and wanted to go home before it was over. But she says she liked "babies and white robot". I really enjoyed it.

WiiFit - today I went on it again after missing 4 days in a row! I'm enjoying it and still doing mainly aerobics exercises. I'm getting better at them and tonight Ken said my legs are getting skinnier :thumbsup2 but I haven't lost any weight (it bobs around depending on time of day and water retention) I need to keep pushing it and do it. Keep meaning to kept early in the morning and do it before waking everybody else up, but I'm not really a morning person, and I already get up at 6:30ish, so earlier doesn't appeal.

Now I have to go hold the new fencepost straight so Ken can fill in the bottom. I'll check in again before bed!

Steph (Tay's mom) - have you got your daughter hooked on So You Think You Can Dance? I've started watching it on the Eastern channels so I can watch with my girls - its more fun watching it with somebody that enjoys it (Ken doesn't)

Don't worry, just check in when you can. Don't you love how Wii asks you where you've been when you haven't been on in a while? I bet your legs are skinnier. Do they have something for the stomach? I have enough things to do for my legs, I need to lose 100 pounds from my belly and face.

Hi Gaylean!
Sorry about that. I told him I would give him your information as it gets closer. He has a tendency to lose information! You're still on tap for the pick up and THANKS a ton! Can't belive it's less than a month! I can't wait.

S

I can't wait either. Just let me know when he books his flight because Jon may work half day if it will be late. Have you talked to Marr? We want to make goodie bags for the kids and I need to see what she has already. I know you want Seagrams :lmao:

Hello Marilyn, Gaylean and Michelle

Cabo!!!

IMG_1488.jpg

I want to be there.

In order for the current ships (ship) to do Alaska there would need to be some major changes due to the colder weather. We were told by a CM in CA (and we know this person is not someone of authority ;) ) that one of the new ships would be set up to sail in colder seas and in CA permanently. :confused3 Interesting, we will see.

There was a long thread recently on the main cruise board about the 2010 itineraries and the new ships. Some said the new ships would be too big to go to Alaska to some of the ports. Apparently other cruise lines use smaller ships.

I have not even subscribed to that thread yet.

Go and do it now!!

:wave2: I miss you guys!! How is everyone doing? I haven't had a chance to catch up....hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday.

Hi, good to see you.

I've just done a search here on the Dis for something completely unrelated and one of our old threads came up. I clicked, and there I was, in the middle of our first fun chat about the Old Geezers back in April!!!

Nanatink, Angie, Cork, Carol, Hawkeye, etc. :)

Oh noooooooo.

You really don't want to know what my mother used to tell me when I told her I was bored.
Oh please, do tell. It may make my life seem better :hippie:

Whenever I told my mother I was bored, she'd tell me, "You're bored? Go bang your head in the wall, then you won't be bored."

Well, it was the early 1960's. Many of you older folks out there, just might remember the phrase, uttered by dare I say mothers all over the planet, for crying and tantrums for no good reason ... "Just stop that before I give you something to cry about."

I remember it well!!!:lmao:

I had a sister and my mum used to say to us when we were arguing - 'I'll knock one of you down with the other if you don't give up!:rotfl:

Then there was the - 'I'll bang your heads together'!:lmao:

Marilyn, my mother used to say to me and my brother, "I'm going to rip your arm off and beat you over the head with it!"

I think motherhood in those days was pretty amazing. I have heard from people that grew up in different countries, that their mothers also used the, "I'll give you something to cry about .."

Pretty amazing considering that there was no email and mass communications were not what they are today.

... Must be genetic.

I remember saying to our children

'Do you want a smack?':rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, one of my mother's other favorite phrases was, "You should have triplets like yourself, then you'll know what misery is."

Considering how obnoxious I could be as a kid, I'm just surprised there isn't a permanent hand imprint on my face or on my butt.

Actually, all things considered, I think my mother showed remarkable patience and self control.

I don't think my sister and I were bad at all, but I remember my dad saying things like 'I'll get the police to take you away' or 'I'll give you to the rag and bone man when he comes round'!!:scared1:

Need to add here I think. When I was very young there used to be men who came around collecting old clothes etc. I don't know where the bones came from though!!!:lmao: Perhaps it was all the children he had collected.

I think we would be taken into police custody these days as parents for saying these things!!!

'I'll knock the living daylights out of you'!!!

I'm beginning to think I was a horrible child.

I don't imagine kids get sent to the principals office for 'swats' any more either, eh?

We had a small wooden paddle (shaped like an oar) that my uncle had made with the words burned into it "You had better be good". :lmao: So just the threat "Do you want me to get the paddle?" worked for me!

There used to be the cane here but it was banned some time ago. The headmaster used to whack the boy's knuckles or backside. Very painful I believe. I don't think girls ever got the cane.:confused3

How are you Jackie?

I'm feeling pretty good, still a bit achy in spots. I get to DIS a little longer this morning since I have my ultra sound today before work.

I took pictures of my car last night, and got my stuff out of it. I ended up taking everything out as they had put my car in the "Land of Lost Toys" section and I didn't want to have to go back there if the insurance decides that it's 'totaled'.

I played phone tag with the insurance guy all day yesterday, but am going to try calling him now (he works 5A-2p Pacific time), so I may get through this early.

Catch up with you all later......
