ways in which the average dis'er

My kids are gifted, there I said it. So gifted in fact that at birth they were given their masters degrees. At 7 and 5, they both have multiple ph d's and several awards. Our home is completely paid for and we have zero debt. We have a 95000 month emergency fund set aside. And we visit disney 20 times a year. Our kids are so smart that they can miss school. They are actually teaching their classes now so they just call in a sub. I wish you all the best.

Mine achieved their masters in the womb and now teach at Harvard and Yale at 6 and 4. 2 homes completely paid for with zero debt. We have a 9501 month emergency fund and visit 21 times a year. Our kids are so smart they don't even require school. Wishing you a magical day as well. :)

Well I didn't want to say because I dint want to brag, but my 3rd, yet to be born child, is going to be president. Of the country. And I'm.not even pregnant.

I am not a good DISer because I would have totally put my kids on a leash if it would have worked. I wouldn't have felt that it was taking away their human dignity and treating them like an animal.

<clearing throat and standing up> Hi, I'm Jaya and I actually have been known to go to Disney without a touring plan. I know I'm really falling down on the job and will have an absolutely horrific time and everybody else on the Disney boards will laugh at me behind my back because I didn't spend eight hours a day for twelve months planning my potty breaks to coordinate with my fast passes. Sigh. I realize I'm a great disappointment. Oh, and to add insult to injury, I don't like Vera Bradley purses, especially Disney Vera Bradley purses. Yes, I'm a disgrace. Oh, I forgot, I eat all my meals at counter-service restaurants and have never been to a character breakfast. I'll never have two million dollars to back me up in retirement. I'll just slink off now and ponder on my inadequacies for a while.

I found this humerus!

I train my bladder for 12 months prior to my trip just so I can get more rides in. Twice a day! That's it! I have a commando bladder! I recommend bladder training for you highly. I can send you an Excel sheet that will give you all the details if you wish. Just let me know.

Most don't have garbage disposals and I do. And no I don't compost, I put all my food down there and flip the switch.

I had a church basement wedding reception and all of my showers were at someones house. We only have one bathroom for 5 people, my kids keep bouncing back and forth home, we have guns, and bibles in our house.

I use an ECV when I go out in public, like to stay off-site, don't like to make ADRs or Fast-passes. Have left kids at home when we have taken trips.

Will use private label groceries but hate to coupon, spend way too much on food and cable TV.

Never put a limit on how much media my kids used, my DS set the parental codes on the cable box, let my kids go to friends houses when I didn't know the parents, let them have cell phones and facebook and my space when they were young tweens

my sons went fishing by themselves in a boat in the bay when they were 15. They also went duck hunting. They took safety courses and spent plenty of time with adults first. I don't care if somebody has a gift registry or specifies the type of gift they want. I don't care if I'm asked to bring a dish to a party. Either I like the person and I go or I don't so I say no.

I shop at Walmart because I live in the sticks and that is all we have (other than a dirty, nasty Aldi). Target is an hour away, along with the mall and any restaurants you've heard of.

My average kids play outside unsupervised, they don't always behave the way they are supposed to, and they used to get spanked (still would, if they needed it, even though the oldest is way taller than me).

Those average kids will not be given new cars or a fully funded college education because we just can't afford it. They will be expected to work some while they are in school.

I work a minimum wage job by choice (school secretary) because the stress at my better paying hospital job was making my life miserable.

I was a SAHM when my oldest was little and hated it.

We don't go to Disney anymore because it is too expensive for what we get out of it.

Our house is old and out of date but we have no plans to move. It is also messy (not dirty), and I don't care.

I refuse to be a doormat to family and let them treat me badly just because we are related or just to keep the peace. I know they will be gone one day, but I can live with the choices I have made.

We have a couple of guns, our kids know where they are, where the ammo is (stored separately), and they know how to use them. (They do NOT have access to the keys for the gun locks, tho).

Probably a lot more, but that's all I can think of right now.
