Delivery guys by me get more than minimum wage, plus tips, plus some milage.

Here also, atleast more then minimum wage. My old roommate delivered pizza and made a ton of money. I can't remember about gas, but know he made $6 something an hour (and this was 10 years ago).

I usually tip $2 for one pizza, more if bad weather. Never order more then one but can't imagine more then $4 ever.

I tip 20% (before any free pizza coupons). If I'm gonna tip 15-20% in a restaurant for bringing food from the kitchen to my table (okay, there's more involved, but, hey...), then I'll do the same for a pizza guy bringing it all the way to my front door.

I'm also still working off bad karma from never tipping the pizza guy for all the late night study pizza in college .... :rolleyes1

None of us like anyoneelse's favorite pizza :confused3 Dh likes Meat Lovers, eck :sad2: , Dd like pineapple on her pizzza, double yecky  :sad2: !!

I 'm a Canadian Bacon and fresh tomatoe person, so depending on who we call it can cost up to $26.00. So I try to tip 20% but sometimes it depends on how much money I have in the bank, too.

DH def made a tippers wage. In Maine, he was paid min wage, we thought that was awesome. Call your local dominos or pizza hut and ask.

My brother delivered pizza's when he was in high school. He made $3.00 an hour, got a small amount of gas reimbursed, and got to keep his tips...that is if he got any. More often than not he would get little or no tip. Because of that, DH and I are always very generous with the delivery guy. $3 would be our minimum tip and it is generally higher.

That said, because we tend to tip so much, we often opt to go get the pizza (or chinese, etc) ourselves to save us the money.

I don't mean to be rude, but how can someone only tip $1 the way gas prices are now. In my area most delivery people have to pay for there own gas and get paid just bellow min. wage. If places have a delivery charge it usually goes to the store for insurance on the driver and stuff. I couln't see someone coming to my house to drop off food for me and not give them less than $3. That is just me.

I chose $3 because when I order a pie it's $12 delivered, and I round up to $15, except the one time the pizza took over an hour to arrive and was cold because the driver "got lost." (It's three miles and four streets to my house, couldn't be easier to get here...and I didn't feel like I was getting the whole truth.)

One night DH and I decided we REALLY NEEDED pizza about two minutes before they were closing. They stayed open for us (we picked up) and we gave each of the three people stuck waiting there a $5 tip for being so nice and taking care of us. Cost me almost $30 for that pie, but it was soooo worth it! :thumbsup2

Excellent! I feel great knowing I was right on the money. I usually tip between 2-3.
