My son works P/T as a pizza delivery man :moped: so almost every night I hear all about the good, the bad and the ugly on tipping. Even before he got the job I would usually tip about 15-20% of the bill as I feel that they are saving me from going out to get the food-especially if I'm in the middle of a project or if the roads are terrible due to traffic or bad weather. Most don't get paid a good hourly wage and they also have to pay for gas.i still can't figure out why he does it but as long as he pays his bills I try very hard to stay quiet :rotfl2:

I tip $3 usually, more if it's weather I wouldn't want to be out in. (rain, etc) In general, pizza delivery drivers make a waitress wage. ($2.50?)

$3 for 1 Pizza and more if the snow is falling. Most of the time we order more than one (football season is here) so we will tip up to $10

$1 per item delivered. We usually get 3 or 4 items at a time (pizza, wings, etc)

$2 - $3. Never less than $2, though, and more if the weather is bad or if we have a large order.

I voted for three. We usually get two pizzas and tip $4.

It depends on several things. Never less than 2.00, but more in bad weather or on a holiday.

At our local places, pizza guys have to buy their own gas. So lately I've been more generous.

I tip about 15-20% percent of the bill, much like I would if I go to a restaurant. The delivery person is giving me a service, bringing me my food so I try to not be cheap.

Usually $2, because the place is right around the corner from us. We could walk there if we had to! Usually I only get delivery if I'm home alone with the kids. They still aren't old enough to leave home, even for 5 minutes, but are a lot of trouble to take out to the store.

Delivery guys by me get more than minimum wage, plus tips, plus some milage.

I tip about 20% of the bill. For me that usually means about $3.00 for a large pizza.

Well if we had a delivery guy I would give him whatever he wanted for coming out to the boonies! We don't have any delivery out here- too rural. (that is the one thing I miss about the city- chinese delivery and they would even pick up a 6 pack on the way over!)

We tip $5 for a large, but that's because we live a bit out of town. Most likely the delivery guy is just delivering to our place out here, so I'm quite generous.

$5. My DH used to deliver pizzas and often didn't get tipped, so I like to help make up the difference.

My ex used to deliver pizza and on a good day he made over $100 dollars in tips. To me that's crazy. Plus he made $8.00 an hr and got partially reimbursed for his mileage. As for me I tip about $2.00. I just usually round up to the next increment of 5 though. I do tip more if there is bad weather.

I've never heard of a pizza guy making less than minimum wage, generally they make a couple dollars over, plus they make money for each delivery they make, they don't do terribly.
