Hi! I know this is very ot, not disney at all...but I'm hoping somebody can help.

I'm looking for an online math game that my DS who is going into 1st grade can play...(Like Starfall would be great--he loved that for phonics when he was learning to read.)

He is doing really great with reading (he is already reading Magic Tree House and the like) so I have no concerns there, but I am worried that he has inherited my bad math brain:confused3. It doesn't seem to interest him as much--and I am trying not to let my own personal feelings about math come into it. (There's a great song by Jimmy Buffett about it....:rolleyes1) He can add and subtract single digits, but still uses his fingers.

At any rate, anything fun and engaging that I can have him do this summer that isn't just like doing problems in a workbook (it's vacation, for goodness sakes!) would be great.

TIA!!!

Check out www.LowellMST.com - it's my son's school, and they have a ton of links on there for math games for all ages. Look at the "Resources" tab on the left, then scroll to the right, look for the "Dr. Arlys Peterson" link (under Community Connections). You can also click on "Students" on the left on the main page, then click on the grade level for more links. If you click on K, then scroll all the way to the right and click on "Portaportal" there's enough there to keep him busy for a while :) Sometimes the links on the different grades are for all ages, not necessarily for that age. Have fun !!

These aren't online, but if your local library lends CD-rom's then you can most likely find them there (that is where we got them). Anyway, our 1st graders love Millie's Math House, Trudy's Time and Place House, Mighty Math Zoo Zillions & Math Blaster.

You might try funbrain.com - they have an assortment of games, not just math. There's also multiplication.com.

aaamath.com ALL levels of math from about K thru 8th grade it is a good site many different styles of math per grade level.

Another vote for Funbrain! My students always ask to play when they're done with their work. I've even played it on a couple of breaks (I play with the students, usually) just to see if I could beat my own records.
