Way Early Roll Call For March 4, 2006 Eastern.........

SO I'm assuming that if we dont' receive them before we go that DCL knows we are on the cruise and that we will be able to board the ship without documents? I've printed off all the forms from the website and filled them in, so I should be ok???? Please say yes!!!!!

From everything I've read, yes! Don't worry!! I know, easy for me to say, but try to not to worry about it.

It's freezing here too - I can't wait for warm weather and my own personal balcony!!! We leave two weeks from today!!!

we are leaving the wed before the cruise for Disney, and I really can't believe how close it is....

I still have tons to do.....I thought I had all kinds of time...but it is quickly running out!!!

Sandi

If anyone could not get Palo or Founders times we just cancelled 10 hours of "prime" time in flounders, and brunch, high tea, and dinner at Palo for all four of our cabins so that is 12 slots. If you need them hurry before they are gone. :cool1:

How many of you plan on dressing up for pirate night.....

we don't, but I am wondering how many do.......

I know my oldest wouldn't, but I am wondering if my younger one sees many dressed up, he might wish he was....

Sandi

Sandi:

Last year I bought a Goofy and a Mickey pirate hat on the ship for my boys. That's it. Some people were dressed up but the majority were not. The waiter will give each of you a bandana to wear during dinner.

Amanda

I am bringing an eye patch and "hook" for my 5 yr old DS. That will likely be it unless i can find the "leftover" patches I had from my DD's princesses and pirates party a couple of years ago for my DH and Dad to wear....

I was thinking of maybe just looking for an eye patch at the dollar store....I figure I am not spending any more money!!!

We just made a list of everything left to buy.....ouch....the meds alone are a fortune!!

I still need to buy pants for my older son......none from last year fit anymore! (he only wears jeans.....so no khakis....) The worst part, he is at that inbetween stage....the only good kids clothing store we have here is the children's place, and they are too small for him, but the adult stores are too big! We are going somewhere with a gap and old navy this weekend for a hockey tournament....so I am hopefull I will find him some pants!

Happy packing all!!!!!!!!
Sandi

PS I am sooooooo excited! :goodvibes

We thought about it but we're really not into dressing up anyways, plus since I'm limiting our luggage to two suitcases, 3 pirate outfits is not a necessity PLUS DH and I have Palo that night...DD and uncle will pirate themselves.

I went to the party store over the weekend and bought eye patches and pirate hats for the boys. They were real cheap and I think DS6 and DS3 will really ham it up for pirate night. I didn't think costumes were really necessary but if we had them I would have packed them.

I checked today since I'm still wanting a brunch ressie but there was nothing...either they didn't post them or they dissappeared over the weekend, but thanks for letting us know.

Hey Sandi, you were up early this morning!!! How can you tell I don't want to work. It's a slow day here today so checking my Disboards. Maybe I might find a patch and sword for DD. She would like that, or I can make one.

I started packing some clothes this weekend and trying to limit stuff is hard. I have 4 pairs of shoes for each of us...casual sandle for beaching and pooling, dressier sandle, dress shoe and runners...that's 12 pairs of shoes and I actually have two pairs of dress shoes (although I have small feet thank goodness) and DD and I have watersocks as well. DH hasn't even packed his shoes and theyare a size 9.

Sandi, I've brought our whole medicine cabinet as well and I filled two large zip lock bags. I don't want to be buying meds onboard (I hear it is VERY expensive) plus at USD prices as well. All of us have colds right now and hopefully we are better by the time we leave. DH has been sick over a month. DD has a stuffy nose and mine is pretty much gone. BUT our caregiver and her family are now sick so hopefully it is the same "bug" as ours or we'll be booted off the boat if DD gets really sick.

Our "To buy" list was pretty long too but I've purchased all the stuff (and yes $$$$ ouch) except the stuff we plan to buy at some sort of Walmart in Orlando...like water, sand/beach toys, food/snacks...alcohol for the men (if they want it).

I'm getting pretty excited but very nervous at the same time. I just hope that the weather agrees with us on the day we travel since DH is travelling separately from us. We meet up in Toronto but anything could happen between then.

We have a 6-7 hour drive to our airport in New Hampshire.....

We do have direct early morning flights...so hopefully we will get there!

I am just worried a storm will start up when we have to drive.....Here's hoping for sunshine!

On the way back, I could care less.....delayed in florida...yay!!!

Sandi :sunny:

Yay! Just got home and there was a message on our machine from our TA and our cruise documents are in!!!!! What a relief!

Congrats Qball!! I guess they knew you were coming, after all!

Yes, we've started packing, too. Although, at this stage it feels like I'm just washing clothes. I want to lay out everything this weekend, so I can really see what we need. Both of my girls are growing and moving into the next size.

We'll wear eye patches, and that's about it for pirate night. Same reasons - no room in the suitcases. We have the bandanas from our last cruise, so I hope they're a different color or something this time.

Have any of you looked at the food pictures thread? I was checking it out, and saw this amazing display of food and it was called Lumiere's buffet - is that the same thing as the pirate night buffet? pirate: It looks amazing!

Still waiting to hear about the pilot strike here - who knows, we may end up driving to Florida!

I hope we are all ready. My DS10 is sooooo excited.

Only a few days left till we all head from our homes to the mighty Disney Magic. :cool1:

I think you Canadians will really enjoy the temperature change on the cruise. Whole Northeast is getting sacked. We have it pretty mild out west this winter. :sunny:

Looking forward to meeting all of you throughout our cruise together.

This one sure will!!!!

I find myself daydreaming about warm sand, and sunny skies.......usually as I am freezing to death at the hockey rink!!!!(aghhh the joy of having two boys!)

It has been soooo cold the last week, up until that we had a pretty mild winter.

Anyone know of a close by place to buy alcohol before the cruise?? Can't you even buy stuff at the grocery store?

Sandi

Anyone else in major list mode? I have packing lists, lists of what to put on the packing lists, a master list of things left to do, a list of what to buy, not to mention my lists of tips from here. I can't believe how close we are getting!!

I'm now also compiling my list of things to do from the Passporter's Guide Book. I didn't really want to bring the whole book, so maybe I'll just photocopy the things I think I'll want to reference ie cab fares on particular islands.

I also received my documents this week-yeah! I spent this past weekend buying all the last minute things that I needed, the list was a mile long before I was finished. I have everything out and ready to pack and I finished packing for the kids because we are leaving on the 27th. I ended up having to use 3 suitcases to get all the boys stuff to fit. All the clothes was not so bad it was the 6 pairs of shoes and a pair of water shoes each plus the snorkle and way too many medications ( I feel like a walking pharmacy). Also does anyone know what you fill in for the bahamas paper work because it asks the number of nights you are staying- do we leave it blank or put zero because we do not actually stay there overnight.??? Hi Lisa,
Count me in on the list madness...these are mine:
-to do before we leave home
-to buy before we leave home (this list is actually done now)
-to buy when in the states
-packing list A, clothes and essentials
-packing list B, non-essentials
-packing list C, miscellaneous items
-packing list D, carry on luggage
-plus my list of tips that I've received from these boards

And I'm taking the lists with me as well to make sure I "check off" so I don't forget something behind.
