What are wave phones? Are they like walkie talkies? Is there a fee to use them?

They are mobile phones. You use them just like a phone. Each room has 2. You can get additional ones for extra cost, as long as they are available.

They're no longer offered onboard. Everyone is encouraged (expected, actually) to use their own cell phones to access DCL's app onboard because everything is now done through the app (Mandatory Lifeboat Drill, all menus, talking with Guest Services, etc.).

I thought they removed them before that. For some reason, on our last cruise, I recall a notice that if you wanted one, they were available at GS. I knew you could get extra ones there.

A change I'm not particularly fond of. We travel to get away from the "answer me!" electronic world.
