Are the waterparks busier on the weekends? Is any day of the week better to visit either TL or BB?

Great Question Ann.

I am interested in this too because of the local kids???? Hopefully someone will help us out soon. I imagine it would be, and that was the day I was thinking of going.

that's what common thinking would tell you....we have actually found over the years that the weekends tend to be less busy than the weekdays....BTW im talking about may & june when we normally go......it may be because most people arrive or depart on the weekends.....not sure.

Thanks Kevind. I think I will go to BB when I intended to go then!

MAC3: depending on when you're going, sometimes(ok most times) the water parks are just plain busy....typically, the pattern is you have a couple of hours when the waterparks first open that can be relatively crowd free....in the moderate to busy season, by lunchtime it will become very crowded and remain that way throughout the heat of the day....we have found that a good time to go during busier times is in the afternoon(say from 3pm on)...many times the waterparks start to empty as people prepare for dinner/evening park plans, another great time is during the rain...starts raining, people leave, you have the park to yourself...hopes this helps.....have fun

We'll be going the last week of April. I'm hoping the Spring Break crowds are gone and the locals won't want to swim yet. Maybe we'll try it on a Sun. My kids favorite was BB when we went in 2000 and they were only 2 & 4. Can't wait to hit the bigger slides with them this time!

Thanks Kevin! I was thinking about the rain issue. I have been to TL and got there @ park opening. I will probably spend the whole day, I'm so excited about trying BB. I believe we are going on the 16th of April.

Would you happen to know of a good section to camp out for the day?

For BB
Remember to stay far left and skirt the buildings to get in the leftmost entrance for quick entry.

With little kids...
Head in near the lodge and take a hard right back in to the kids area and snag a pavilion. Send the older "thrill" seekers directly to the summit plummit while you drop off the stuff.

without little kids...
to the lodge
cross the bridge
turn left and work your way around to the left edge of the wave pool. snag a pavilion where you can see the wave pool and some slides.

at least that is what we have done. I really enjoy the creek, since we use the waterpark days as buffers between LONG days in the parks. So I like to get a pavilion that is reasonably close to a creek entrance. If you hit BB first thing and stay left using the building "crowd-shadows" to move ahead you should have no problems at all. Of course if you are there when there aren't any crowds, it won't matter.

BTW, staying left does matter. When we were there this summer our group (several families adding up to 35 people) all rode to BB together, we all lined up together. Some went right  some stayed middle, and I took my family off to the left. We were in the park at least 10 minutes earlier than the "right" crew. By the time they got in, summit plummit had a 30 minute wait...
