Hi there, this is a strange question...but... when you do the waterparks and you're standing in line are your feet burning on the VERY HOT floor? :confused3

If so can you take or buy some type of sandel to use on the slides?

I know this is a mad question but just standing up on hot sand really hurts, so standing around all day must be unbearable?
going july/august any advice?

many thanks sharon :flower:

our TA advised us to get some school pumps for the kids £1.99 at woolworths and then i will bin them b4 coming home, not sure what i will wear tho

take a trip to Wal-Mart or any of the cheap stores and pick up some beach shoes.
they are cheap enough and well worth it as the concrete does get very hot and really wears the soles of your feet out :cool1:

Hello,

Probably would recommend shoes/pumps if you have sensative feet but at the Disney waterparks the walkways have little spinklers on them keeping things nice and cool.

another vote for the water socks(a shoe ) on sone rides you have to take them of
Paulh

We bought some water shoes to wear. You were allowed to wear them on some rides, but on others you had to take them off and hold them in your hands as you went down the slides.

We got some water shoes at TL I think they were $10 or so :) Well worth it :)

I bought water shoes at TL (worth every penny in August!)

We were allowed to waer them on all the rides we did (but didn't do all he rides so we may have just missed the ones we couldn't wear the shows on)

We got the kids some swim shoes, not only are they good if the ground is hot the pool bottoms are usually like sand paper and by the end of the first few days the bottoms of your feet are very sore.

Another vote for pool shoes :goodvibes
The first time we went DD's feet were really sore with the 'sandy bottom' of the pools :guilty: .
One pair of pool shoes later and she was laughing
I've worn flip flops but the pool shoes are better as they don't float away when you're dashing about :teeth:

Hi,

When we went back in 1998 I remember the floor in Blizzard Beach scorching my feet! It was unbearably hot just to walk around, so we had to go back to the hotel that day. However, we returned the next day and just bought some shoes in Blizzard Beach that u could wear in the pools and it was bliss! :sunny:

Another vote for water shoes. First time we visited a water park in Florida we went to Busch Gardens sister park Adventure Island (it is brilliant if anyone wants to spend time down there, it's our fave :sunny: ) and we didn't bother wearing anything on our feet and boy, did we get sore feet from the heat. I've never run so fast in my life across one plastic matted area

We've worn water shoes for our last three trips to Typhoon Lagoon and never had a problem except on the three slides together (can't remember what they're called) and had to take them off there, but just held on to them. All the other rides they were fine on, so maybe the CM on the slide ride was just being a bit over safety conscius. DD and DH even wore them on Humungakowabunga :scared: They stayed on no problem, but they had cracking wedgies  ;)

We got some water shoes for our trip to DC last year and they are ideal for the water parks too! Try this site Swim Shoes

Another vote for water shoes. When we last went I and DD wore them as the floors were hot/rough and the last thing you want in WDW is sore feet! At the time we bought them at BB but I would suggest Walmart or Target or even buying them before you fly out - easy to find in in discount shops/beach stores.

thanks for the fantastic and informative replies we will be getting some sharon :flower:

Flip-flops work almost as well and are much more acceptable to fashion concious teenage daughters!

I agree, I live in my array of flip flops throughout the summer. However, one time I did wear my flip flops in TL and was made to take them off on every single ride which meant carrying them down . . . . not quite to great on the ring rides where you need to hang on.

I have just ordered some from m and m sports on the web which seem excellent value. I have not bothered with them before but remember BB and TL having rough floors in the pools. We usually go in February when the temperatures are like a nice summer here but going in July this time, so figured the surfaces will be red hot to walk on.
