Waterpark slides that hurt?

I haven't been to any of the Disney water parks in a loooong time, but one of my lasting memories is that some of the slides hurt your bum when you go down them!
A quick search on google brings up crush n gusher as a painful slide if you don't raise yourself up, are there any others I should be watching out for?
I have a very low pain threshold and I would probably spend my time worrying about hurting myself than enjoying the slides so thought I'd be best to know in advance!
Thanks!

Humunga Kowabunga at Typhoon Lagoon and Summit Plummit at Blizzard Beach can both hurt.

None of the other slides have ever caused me a problem. Crush and Gusher has you on a tube, so unless you fall off it's almost guaranteed not to hurt.

The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon can really knock you down and scrape you up on the pool floor if you're not careful at the shallow end.

Thanks, summit plummet is a 100% no go for this wimp anyway haha

I think it's the water blasters that keep you moving that blast your bum on crush and gusher and hurt! Found a few threads all saying the same.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the lethal wave pool!

Summit Plummet is the only ride at Disney that was a one and done for me. The mist of water spraying up from my feet hurt (stick your head out the window of your car in a rain storm going 60mph), your back feels like you are in the Olympics luge without a sled, and they give you one of these at the bottom to help with your wardrobe malfunction:

I'm sure I'm exaggerating about the water spray...

I will ride any roller coaster ever and I love thrill rides, but in my opinion Summit Plummit is just ridiculous. I did the smaller one (can't remember the name) first and I caught serious air, and the whole way down I could see nothing and I felt like I had a fire hose in my nostrils. Then, I saw a guy get off Summit Plummit and his entire back was basically just burned off, lol. I said no thanks.

I did summit plummet yesterday with a swim shirt on and my back was fine. What hurt was my hips and triceps. About 2/3 of the way down, I started to feel the water hurting them. Kind of like someone took a power washer to them. Otherwise it's fine with a shirt. Now the one next to it, can't think of name with 3 small hills hurts a lot on my spine from getting airborne on last bump.

Yeah, that's the slide that I caught serious air on. I thought I was going to go flying off the edge. lol. Then, I saw the guy do Summit Plummit and practically rip his back off. After that, I stuck to the innertube slides.

It really is about pain threshold. I completely disagree with most of the posts here, and I'm not trying to be a "tough guy", I just don't find it really all that painful. Summit Plummit is just like any other large drop water slide. You may catch a little "air" just as you first drop off, but it's minimal. Sure, you feel a sensation on your back as you're sliding down, but I wouldn't call it painful in the least. Remember, you're going down a slide awful fast, pretty much no way you're not going to have any sensations, but I wouldn't say it hurts. Wedgie? Yeah, somewhat, but it's often greatly exaggerated. The way people tell it you'd think the bathing suit came out your mouth. It's not THAT bad. Humunga Kowabunga is the same way, but a bit less intense in my opinion.

Crush n Gusher is no pain whatsoever. You're on an inner tube, and unless you fall off of it the water jets really don't hit you...only spray bouncing off the tube. If that ride is painful to you, you may want to stick to the lazy river. Frankly, I think you're more likely to get bumps and bruises on some of the smaller tube, body or mat slides. I have fallen off a tube (can't say I didn't contribute to that) and banged an elbow or something. Not crippling pain, but I felt it. Those twisty slides throw you around a good bit, but that's part of the fun.

There are only two places I can say that I consciously think of being careful when riding them. Slush Gusher in BB. That one has 3 individual drops and with each successive drop you're going faster. The bigger you are, the faster you're going. So my kids, at 100lbs, think it's the best thing ever. Me, at 175lbs, I catch some air over the last hump. The landing can be painful if you aren't completely in the right position. But I still find it really fun. My wife (I won't divulge her weight :flower3: except to say she's significantly lighter) says the same thing. The other place that can be painful is the wave pool at TL. It's seriously powerful. You could get kicked, hit, trampled by someone else riding a wave. Or, more likely, you could scrape a knee, foot, toe on the rough concrete floor. My kids love it when I throw them into the wave. It's fun for them, but it leaves me really vulnerable. A few weeks ago, I hit my knee pretty good, leaving a nice scrape and a bruise. The scrape is still healing, but it was worth it.

OP, no worries. Unless you intentionally do something you shouldn't, you won't walk out like this... :crutches:

Personally, I fell out of my raft on the water roller coaster in Typhoon Lagoon when I was 10 and got some pretty bad rug burn all up my back. But that was when it first opened, I believe the rafts are a lot better now.

The only other thing I can think about is the mega extreme wedgie you'll get on Summet Plummet.

Well, as a guy I know that Summit Plummit can be very painful if you don't cross your legs.

Just sayin'

I thought I was going to cry after Summit Plummet. Had to take a little break to recompose myself.

The worst part is: I used to love it! Not any more!

Chime in on Summit Plummet. It is a destroyer. One and done!!! I love it though. Have to do it once per trip. But that is it ONCE!!!! Other than that I have no issue with any other ride at BB. Never been to TL but will change that this September.

My kids and husband said that summit plummit hurt their backs but they were good to go and wanted to go again. lol. The surf/wave pool at TL will scrape you up...lol!

The family raft ride at typhoon lagoon was very rough. I actually got my back slammed into one of the fake "rocks".

Thanks everyone! Summit plummet is way too scary for me anyway lol!

The threads on here about crush and gusher must be old (didn't think to look when I was reading them) and maybe they've improved it coz a LOT of people were talking about how you should lift your bottom up to avoid any injury!

I'll probably do the tamer rides anyway , and i think I'll avoid the TL wave pool and stick to BB coz I think that's much tamer.

Crush and Gusher has definitely improved a lot from when it first opened! No need to lift your bum up when I rose last time :)
