Okay. to include both threads I'll relate how we ate watermelons when I was in college. Take a large melon cut a small hole in one end, pour about half a bottle of vodka into the melon, refridgerate for a couple of hours, cut and eat. Kind of like watermelon shots instead of jello shots.

I usually like my watermelon plain.

However, I also make a salad of chunked watermelon, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and red onion. It sounds weird but the tastes all go together really well.

i do love salt on margaritas so this is intriguing. i guess i will try it. but i must say i have never heard of salt on fruit either....
