Water shoes needed for dolphin swim?

I didn't see it listed so was wondering if anyone knew if water shoes were needed for Dolphinaris in Cozumel?

I need to buy some if they are

if it is anything like the dolphin swim at Chankanaab, then yes you need water shoes.

The dock walking to the dolphins was hot. also, you are standing on a ledge waiting for your turn... I wouldnt want to be standing on that barefoot.

We did Dolphinaris in Cozumel in May. No you do not need water shoes and actually I don't think they would even be allowed in the water. You first leave all your clothing, etc. in lockers. You are not allowed to have any jewelry, sunglasses, etc. out of safety for the dolphins. You are allowed to wear your flip flops (or whatever shoes) and take your towel. There is a bin right next to wear you enter the water to put your towel and shoes.

So that brings up another question, can we bring towels from the ship or do I need to pack some?

You don't need to bring any. When you go to the meeting place on the ship for the excursion they hand out towels. If you are going on your own you can grab towels from the pool deck to take along. When you return to the ship there are large bins to throw the towels in right before you re-board the ship.
