okay never been to a water park

do you wear your swimming suite under your clothes on the bus - or do you change there?

do I bring the towels?

are their showers so you can change into clothes before you go back on the bus?

or would driving my car be a better choice.

think they have lockers - since traveling alone would need one right :rolleyes1

I just got back from WDW and we visited both water parks so I'll try to answer a few of your questions.

I usually wear my suit and a swimsuit cover up.

We always bring our own towels. I believe you can "rent" them at the water parks but we've never done that. If you can, bring your own.

There are showers and changing rooms. However, we usually drive to the water parks so we just leave in our swim suits, wearing our cover ups and don't bother changing or showering there. We do it when we get back to our room.

I prefer having a car but it would be very doable with the Disney bus system. Simply wear your suit, bring a bag with your towel, sunscreen, water shoes and a few other necessities (we always bring a small collapsable cooler with waters and a few snacks). We have never rented a locker. We usually just keep our stuff at a chair inside the park. We don't bring any valuables though.

Pat, we always drive to the water parks. That way we don't have to ride in the cold AC if we are still wet. And we don't have to squeeze in next to someone who has been shopping at DTD. We bring our own beach towels from home (the nice big, plush ones).

We love the waterparks!

When we take the bus, we wear our suits under our clothes, but bring our undergarments so that we can change into dry clothes before we leave. We always rent a locket and bring a towel. They charge a dollar or two for those small white towels that you get by the resort pools.

Have fun! Wear and re-apply sunscreen often.

And those mini donuts- oh so good!

We took the bus and it worked out well. We went in our suits with cover ups. Rented their towels (didn't feel comfortable taking hotel towels with us and refused to pack towels due to space). We changed there afterwards before getting back on the bus. We didn't shower but there were showers. We rented a locker. We even bought water shoes there and the price was reasonable and the shoes comfortable. The only thing I would have done differently was either being my waterproof camera or by a waterproof case for my phone and also buy one of those waterproof cases to wear around my neck to keep my KTTW card in. I kept having to go back to the locker for it when we wanted a snack.

We loved Blizzard Beach. Didn't make it to Typhoon Lagoon but will on our next big trip.

Next time I go I would not bring any valuables into the park, and skip the locker rental. I think we paid over $20 last time to store our shoes, Sun screen, and rented towels. So silly. Next time I will just leave everything in the car, and walk back out there if I need more sunblock.

Sun block is a valuable? I just leave mine at my chair. As a skin cancer survivor, it does no good in a car or locker. When you get wet like at a water park it needs to be reapplied. (Waterproof isuncreen is not really waterproof)

We brought ours, put in the locker and just walked back for a reapplication. The locker price didn't bother me and I gelt they were worth it. I didn't have a car but I wouldn't have wanted to trek out there back to it with my kid anyway.

More then once we have been stuck in early morning lines waiting to rent towels and lockers. So if you can avoid them :thumbsup2 Plus you save some $ ;)

We drive and use the car a little like a locker. Leaving regular shoes in them and wearing only suits, water shoes and coverups into the park along with some sunscreen and cash/cards in one of those waterproof neck things.

Another piece if advice is bring water shoes if you have them. They sell them there and the price is not super crazy if you want to wait and see. But Target or Walmart will be cheaper. Its just too painful IMO to walk around without them. Hot pavement, bits of trees etc. Not to mention hitting your toes on the bottom of the wave pool :(

Long lines? Is that because you guys got the when it first opened? We aren't rope drop people and I found no lines for towels or lockers or in the store.

I found their water shoes of better quality and feel than what I found in Target. My son has sensory issues though and is picky about the feel of material on his skin. The ones there were soft enough for him to tolerate. Just wanted to share in case someone's child has this issue.

Don't use the buses!! We were staying at SSR. we went through the SSR bus stops and the DTD bus stops. We then passed right by Typhoon Lagoon and returned to SSR. I had my two younger children with me and did not want to make a scene. It took us 1.5 hours to get to the waterpark that day. Yes, I did let the transportation and management know.

We bring a bag with towels and sunscreen with us. We find a place to park it and off we go.

Have fun!! We love the water parks.

Wow that's awful ! We were staying at BLT and the bus from the Contemporary to the water park went from there to the MK resorts to DTD and then to BB. Took only 30 minutes. Quick and convenient. I've wondered how the SSR transport was. The bus back went straight to the Contemporary first. Makes me not want to stay at SSR for sure.

The buss at SSR aren't bad. I have learned to just drive myself to the water parks. That's the only issue I have had with the buses.

We go to the water parks at least 7-8 times each visit. (We usually try to maximize our WPM tickets).

I wear a cover up over my suit, My hubby and sons just put on a tshirt with their suits. We each wear some type of flip flops. None of us like water shoes much. We put our towels and sunscreen on chairs, put our room key and money in one of those wtaerproof boxes and it goes in my hubby's pocket and we are off and playing in the water. We never rent a locker. Our phones stay in the safe in the room. We wear the cover up and tshirt on the way back to the room.

We don't rent lockers. Did it once and there was no need for it. We ride the busses. We have never had a problem getting to the water parks, sometimes it takes longer to catch a bus for the way back. No real problems though.

I wouldn't want to lose mine. It's about $10 a bottle and I have to special order it. But still, I didn't feel it was worth paying$20 for a locker to lock up$30 worth of stuff. Next time I would skip the locker.

We have been to both water parks several times, never rent a locker, and always use the busses. Like others have said we don't bring valuables and have always left towels, shirts/cover-ups, and a small bag on chairs and have never had a problem. One time however, a horrid storm came up and we left with hundreds of others while it was pouring rain, thundering and lightening. With the weather being so bad we didn't want to wait for a bus, so we jumped in a cab-he took us right to our building at SSR and I believe it was under $20.

Heck, thatis cheap. The stuff my MD has me use is $25 a bottle But it is not very useful unless you reapply At a water park at least hourly.

Once it must have been the time we arrived. Not rope drop but just lots of people. The second time was due to staffing. It was New Years week and the only day all week warm enough for the water park. Not enough staff, long lines, they kept running out of food etc. The staff kept commenting about all the people and wondering why they were all at the water park. I don't know why no one in charge didn't think the water park crowds might increase that day. I had been watching the temps for the week and it was the one day all week predicted to be warm enough. Not to mention getting away from park crowds. So we went. Obviously I was not the only person to think the same way.
